Ok, from everything we know so far in IDW, I was thinking about how the Triceratons would fit in If they are even introduced in this continuity!). Then it hit me! Tell me what you all think!
Ok, based on Krang's story in the latest issue, the Utroms had built a vast intergalactic empire in dimension X. We know the utroms developed the mutagen, right?Well, what if, using the mutagen, they created the Triceratons as a sevator race (soldiers, gladiators to fight for the utrom's amusement, etc.) eventually, the slaves rebelled, overthrew thier masters, and drove the few survivors away (as krang told baxter) what does everyone else think?

Just forget it! Mods, can we get this locked and disposed of please? I'll keep my ideas to myself from now on!

I actually dig that idea. It is something we haven't seen done before with them and I was wondering who over threw Krangs father. It would be something fresh and new.

The Triceratons will do what they always do...go after and chase the Fugitoid over his teleportal device.
I've always said the Rock Soldiers will probably replaced The Federation in this series and go to war with the Triceratons instead.

Fugitoid doesn't have a transmat this time, it's the plans for the technology that Krang is chasing him over. Krang already has a teleportal device. Though the rock soldiers would make superior replacements for the federation!
And my idea for this is about the Tricertons origins, they would still end up as the same empire builders/ warrior culture we know from the comics and 2K3 series!

I would like to see the Triceratons just make a one-off appearance similar to Night of the Dark Turtle from the OT, but with Fugitoid assisting the Turtles providing an epic Triceratons/Rock Soldiers vs. the Turtles/Fugitoid battle, and that something goes wrong during the battle that divides the Federation, causing some to side with the Fugitoid and the others to serve under Krang, which gets resolved at a future time. However, Krang obtains the teleportation device and uses it towards building a portal for the Technodrome, leaving the Fugitoid stranded on Earth, unless if Donatello can create his own portal to send him home.

but krang already has a working transmat (transdimensional)... and honeycutt is stranded on earth.
i like Panda's idea. gives the triceratons more of a backstory... making them mutants rather than straight up normal aliens. Panda's idea also makes the triceratons more of escaped rebels rather than an established alien race... which could explain why they are so angry. :D

And adds to thier love of gladitoriat games and thier honor code!
I just think thier place in the story is already set up- we know that the Utrom empire was overthrown, we just don't know yet by whom!

I like your idea there Panda Kahn Fan, I think that would be a very cool new twist on the Triceratons and a great way to introduce them into the IDW TMNT-verse. They are definitely a fan favorite part of the TMNT universe, I really hope Tom & the gang have plans to use them. It sure would be great if Kevin introduced them in the annual!

I'd rather the Triceraton Empire not have any genesis from Krang or anything... it makes the universe too small when everything and everyone is connected at the hip to one another.
No, I'd rather the Triceraton Empire just be an opposing force to General Krang's armies. Like, Krang and his goons just go system to system kicking over rocks and decimating peoples like he's apparently doing now (we still don't know why he's doing that, by the way)... and then they reach the Triceratons and it's like, "Whoa, OK... we kicked over the wrong stone this time!" and they give Krang a good run for his money.
Insert the TMNT on a space romp and it almost writes itself.

That's true, Andrew, but it also would make a lot of sense if they were the guys who destroyed Krang's homeworld... I would kinda dig that

I wasn't even thinking that they'd be responsible for that... but that would be an awesome idea. Someone had to have, though I was thinking it will probably turn out to be the renegade outcast, Ch'rell. If it turns out that Ch'rell is the Foot's benefactor, it would all come full circle.
