New Friends, Old Enemies

(Like Christmas Aliens, I came up with another wacky idea for a extension for this Nick TMNT episode).

Over in he sewer, Mikey's still kickin himself about making friends with a mortal enemy. April visits them & has her laptop with her.

MIKEY: Man, can't believe my friend turned out so uncool!
LEO: Everyone makes mistakes.
RAPH: Especially you!

Leo tackles Raph for that remark.

APRIL: Mikey, I got another human friend you might like. He goes to high school with me.

Mikey goes over to her laptop to that social network page & finds...

MIKEY: Josh Salazar?
DON: Better be careful Mikey, looks like a cereal killer.
RAPH: Known to kill rabbits, tigers & toucans!

Readers boo @ Raph over breakfast pun.

April shows him a video of Josh playing @ that same Halloween party, playing guitar & singing, sportin that superhero outfit. When that song's done, leader Frankie says...

FRANKIE: Give it up for Josh Salazar, aka Ex-Cel Teen on guitar!

Mikey rushed over to his computer, logged on to that social site & sent a friend reqest to him.

RAPH: Mikey's 2nd error & the author's umpteenth mistake!

I can't see Mikey being so trusting after he got betrayed so easily in the first place. I know the guy goes to high school with April and all, but I would think Mikey would be a bit more cautious regardless. Just my two cents. I'm not saying the story is bad or anything like that. Just giving my honest opinion.

Hey, chill out! I'm just trying to help GR here! I understand the premise of the episode being his inspiration, but using the same exact title just seems kinda lazy IMO. I'd use a title with the word "Betrayal" or "Backstabbing" in there... make it something that really captures the reader's attention.

Thanks for the mixed reviews. No one threw tomatoes @ me when I wrote a follow up to Christmas Aliens.

As for your comment, Mikey's a sucker for superheroes, whether they save the world & have superpowers or has musical powers playing music. After all, my Mikey is friends with Josh (Ex-Cel Dude) Salazar in my fanfic series.

Maybe I should post another chapter to torture you Dromers (LOL).

At April's high school, it's after school & she hears music coming from the band room. She enters & finds The Cool Band jamming, with Austin playing a sax solo. When Josh got to play his guitar solo, April sighed over him.

APRIL (Thinking) Handsome body, good looking, athletic & musical talent. I wouldn't mind him for a boyfriend.

The Cool Band finished their jam. Frankie (trumpet) said...

FRANKIE: No groupies allowed in rehearsal.
BRAD: Chill, wonder what she wants?
APRIL: Josh Salazar, can we talk?

The band makes fun of him while Brad plays a snare drum roll.

JOSH: Stop it guys!

Josh unstraps his guitar & goes with April.

BRAD: If you're thinking about dating Salazar, you haven't got a chance. His mother's like a scarecrow & chases girls away!

Josh & April went outside to the hallway. She talks to Josh.

APRIL: You go on your social network page?
JOSH: When I get a chance.
APRIL: Could you be friends with Mikey?
JOSH: The turtle head guy? Sounds weird. Something off TMNT.
APRIL: You might say that. He saw your video of your Halloween concert. He likes superheroes, comic books, skateboarding & he plays the drums.
JOSH: Sure.
APRIL: Maybe he can come over & jam with you.
JOSH: Why not his place?
APRIL: Trust me, you'll need more than a shower after visiting where he lives.

Saturday night, Josh's parents went off to visit relatives while Josh was home alone at Salazar Garage. Josh is in his bedroom looking in his old toy chest to find Michelangelo figures & some Turtle Bikes he drove. Then he comes upon an autograph picture of him, he had since COOTS. It read, "Josh, believe in your dreams in music. Michelangelo."

Just then he heard clutter coming from the garage. He goes out, looks around & tries to find what caused that noise.

JOSH: Must've been a rat.
MIKEY: Not exactly.

Josh saw Mikey behind him & couldn't believe he's really a ninja turtle all these years. He rushed into his bedroom & came out as Ex-Cel Teen.

MIKEY: Cool costume!

Ex-Cel started beating Mikey up!

MIKEY: What did I do wrong?
EX-CEL: Sneaking here & probably want our money!
MIKEY: I don't wanna rob you, I wanna jam!

Ex-Cel got control back & took Mikey to his bedroom. Mikey saw the action figures & autograph pic. Mikey looked @ the pic.

MIKEY: I remember that 10 years ago. You certainly did achieve, dude!

Ex-Cel is stunned that it's the real Mikey he met 10 years ago.

EX-CEL: Man, you're for real.

Mikey saw Brad's drums he uses when The Cool Band have band practice there. Mikey went to the drums, grabbed some sticks & started playing a rock beat. Ex-Cel strapped his 335 brown sunburst guitar & rocked with him. They jammed for 20 minutes where they showed their musical skills. They took a break.

EX-CEL: Cool drumming, for a Turtle.
MIKEY: All that's missing is a TYMPANI! Saw you play one on your videos as well as the vibes.
EX-CEL: How about another jam, I'll lead. But first...

He goes over to Mikey, gets into Brad's stick case & gets some brushes out.

EX-CEL: You might wanna use these.

Mikey tried out the brushes & played, then Ex-Cel plays jazz guitar music for him. After a cool guitar solo, he started chinking chords & Mikey felt bored, He dropped the brushes & left the drums. Ex-Cel stopped playing.

EX-CEL: Why did you stop?
MIKEY: BOR-ING!
EX-CEL: Jazz isn't boring, it's creative.
MIKEY: I like to rock!
EX-CEL: Then never come back here until you can learn to appreciate jazz!

Mikey's a little mad.

Wow, really? Ex-Cel is a jerk, and I want to hit him for that comment about jazz. I despise jazz myself, and he needs to learn that not everyone is going to like certain types of music. He needs to get over himself.

Days pass, over @ the lair, Mikey's in his bedroom listening to jazz on him boombox. Raph entered & heard the boombox.

RAPH: Hello, what happened to the real Mikey? The one that likes pop & rock, hp hop & rap?

Mikey turns off the box.

MIKEY: Just listening to different music that's all. Got a problem with jazz?
RAPH: Sounds like a coffee house or we're under the sewers of New Orleans. Did that human friend brainwash you?

Mikey denies it.

RAPH: Man if I ever come across that wetback, he'll pay for that remark!

Hours later, Mikey's in front of the tv, watching JTV. He sees a video by a quintet, set on the beach, called Tropical Breezes. Leo enters the area.

LEO: Why aren't you watching trash tv?
MIKEY: Shh! Cool part.

They see a dude playing a guitar solo.

MIKEY: Man, Ex-Cel's better than him.
LEO: Would you hand me the remote, Captain Ryan's coming up in 5 minutes.

When Leo's about to change the channel, he saw a dude in Speedos, playing a vibes solo. He watched his musical skills & was touched.

LEO: Cool! Wouldn't mind doing that.
MIKEY: Sportin the swimwear or playing the vibes?

Leo then programmed the tivo to tivo Captain Ryan. Then he turned off the tv & talked to his brother.

LEO: You've been hooked on jazz since you met that Salazar kid. Is he brainwashing you?
MIKEY: No way! Maybe I want to appreciate jazz since Ex-Cel/Josh told me it was creative.
LEO: What if Raph made a friend who also plays the guitar, but he strictly likes country music.
MIKEY: Raph would beat the shell out of that redneck!
LEO: Exactly. You shouldn't let Josh get to you.
MIKEY: Thanks Leo.

Splinter came in & overheard.

SPLINTER: Good brotherly advice, Leonardo.
LEO: Better than physical advice from Raph.

Above Salazar Garage is an apartment where they live. At the dinner table, Josh is talking to his parents while they ate.

HECTOR: So Josh, when you take your driving lesson?
JOSH: Not until a month, Dad. Maybe I could practice on the motorcycle.
JUANITA: My baby's not gonna be a biker, yet alone have a girlfriend!
HECTOR: Work for me & you can have the bike.
JOSH: Music's my future.

Just below, they heard drumming from his bedroom.

JOSH: Brad.
JUANITA: What's his problem?
JOSH: I'm sure he wants to visit me.
HECTOR: You & that musclebound friend are up to something.
JOSH: Mom, Dad, Brad & I play football, swim & in the band. Excuse me.

Josh left the table & went downstairs where the drumming continued. When he entered, he saw...

JOSH: Mikey!
MIKEY: Got your attention! (stops drumming)

Mikey goes over to him & punches him. Josh fights back & they start fighting. When Mikey had him down, he said.

MIKEY: You're a music bully! Like jazz music or you're not my friend! Maybe I like techno, hip hop, something that livens a party!
JOSH: Sorry for that remark. Let me up & I'll show you.

Mikey lets Josh go, he gets up, grabs his electric guitar & starts playing a heavy metal solo!

HECTOR: (From upstairs) JOSH! No Guns N Roses or heavy metal sh*t!

Josh stops playing.

JOSH: When I was 13, my dad took me to get a guitar. I saw a flying V that was so cool. But my dad didn't want me to have a drug infested heavy metal guitar. So he got me the brown sunburst, told me to play rock & jazz.
MIKEY: Man, what a killjoy.
JOSH: But when I was 15, I got me a wah-wah pedal, listen to this.

Josh programs his guitar & plays with his wah-wah pedal.

MIKEY: Not bad, let me join you!

Mikey joined in on the drums while Josh continued playing. After that jam...

MIKEY: You're OK, dude. Josh, I have been listening to jazz & it's cool. If I was to be your drummer someday, you'll have to accept my hip hop & techno skills as well, besides rock & jazz. Sorry for attacking you.
JOSH: (shakes his hand) Cool.

He goes over to his drawers & gets out a flyer.

JOSH: The Cool Band will be playing @ the high school auditorium for a concert. Invite your brothers & come early.

That evening @ the high school, April had Mikey & Leo over to attend the Cool Band's concert. Leo & Mikey sported street clothes to look like high school kids, while Don & Raph didn't feel like going.

RAPH: Didn't wanna cause any violence to superhero punk.

Anyway, Leo & Mikey helped Josh set up for the show, by getting instruments from the band room & wheeling them towards the stage. Mikey wheeled in a tympani & placed it on the side of Brad's drums while Josh & Leo wheeled a vibraphone & placed it next to Ralph's organ. Mikey got some mallets & played a tympani drumroll saying..

MIKEY: Are youready to rock?

Leo grabbed the mallets.

LEO: Do you have to do that?
MIKEY: Yeah, always wanted to play tympani. Why not try out the vibes.
JOSH: (Hand him mallets) Go for it.

Leo went behind the vibes & played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme.

JOSH: Man, you're great for a beginner!
LEO: Play by ear.

The rest of the band entered & saw those two strangers.

FRANKIE: Who are those characters?
JOSH: My roadies, April invited them.

That night, Leo & Mikey were seated in the balcony (ala Statler & Waldorf) watching the Cool Band in concert. April took pics of the band. They rocked the house & did some jazz numbers. Near the end of the show, Josh & Brad's football friends chanted EX-CEL! So when Brad played a drum solo, Josh left & came out as Ex-Cel Teen! He played all three instruments in that set (not all at the same time) & fans howled over the superhero musician.
