Everywhere I go and see talk of Nick's new TMNT show, be it a discussion forum, IGN's reviews, ComicVine's reviews, pretty much everywhere, It's so refreshing to see the haters dying down and all the love and positivity in the comment sections.
You still see a fair bit of it on youtube, but overall opinions seem to be changing.
Vindication! And congrats to Nickelodeon, the cast and crew for proving to everyone that a CGI show can work, and not only work but be incredibly awesome!
Only 5 episodes in... we are still in for a wild ride :D
What has been your experience on this? Do you feel people are warming to it as I do?

Definitely. The only place I still see negativity is the TMNT Facebook page. "This sux, u raped my childhood" comments are still rife, but people are starting to call them on their BS now.

I hate people that say "they raped my childhood". What the hell does this have to do with your childhood? Idiots.
But yeah, the hateful comments are pretty much non-existent by now. It has a 7.8 on IMDB, higher than 2K3, lower Than the OT Series by 0.1 point.
Everywhere I go now has positive comments about the new show, even Screwattack.
Only "negative" thing is really the ratings declining since the premiere...but I'm sure it'll pick up later on as the show grows more popular! :) :)

This show is much better than Transformers Prime. Nick has done a wonderful job.

Thanks for the tip about IMDB, i went and rated all the TMNT stuff :D
I think it's great peoples' opinions have been changing for the better as of late.
Heck, one of my friends who is a TMNT fan wouldn't watch it before because he didn't care for the animation. But once he gave it a shot (I'm not sure if he likes the animation though), he does like it overall and doesn't hate it. XD So that's a plus in my book.
Also I've noticed a lot of TMNT fans over on places like DeviantArt have been coming back into the fandom because of the new series - and some of which were paranoid about the series being "dumbed down" only because it was done be Nick.
Personally, I think Nickelodeon has been doing a great job with this series and I hope the popularity of the series continues to grow.

The people complaining were dreadful casuals who haven't watched Turtles since they were 10. They have no idea what the franchise is about and haven't even rewatched the OT since their childhood.
These casuals were people just swept up in the fad and were never real Turtle fans.

This, for the most part. But it's not like these people have had their opinions changed. Nick didn't 'show them'. They just got bored with the issue and moved on to complaining about other things that are resurfacing. That's what they do.

I think the casuals are waiting to rip on, "Beware the Batman" next since its CG and is another Batman reboot.

Whenever Forever Mutation posted clips on his YouTube channel the reception was mostly positive. It's when I go to those entertainment sites that talk about the series is when I see the '87 elites talk trash about it. I Don't get the hate, for me the show is enjoyable to watch. And I think Nick is doing a good job with the show's balance.
Someone really gotta explain this hate to me I grew up loving the 1987 series, but I managed to love the Mirage and 2k3 turtles. I never held one turtle universe over the other if it had the turtles in it I was interested.

OMG THIS!!!! Especially people wearing the TMNT shirts just cause they're 'the thing' at Hot Topic and haven't really seen the original show back in the 80's.

Just because I didn't want to ruin the nostalgia of the original cartoons by re-watching all of them as an adult, I don't consider myself a "casual".

I gotta say, I hated everything about this new cartoon from the previews I saw - the animation, designs, voices. But I've just watched an episode (ep 3) and I loved it! It had the perfect balance between action and humour, the animation, whilst stiff in places was better than I was expecting and it wasn't too "dumbed down". I'm still not crazy about some of the designs (Splinter & April), but the Turtles & Foot look great. Even Mikey's not as annoying as he looked in the previews. I'll definately be catching up with the episodes I've missed.

That makes no sense at all. Rewatching things as an adult obviously gives you different views of the series and you can appreciate it in a different way. The OT is highly entertaining.

I must admit I had my doubts about this show, but was I ever wrong! Awesome show.:o
I think the show is terrific, and it's actually relatively funny - the jokes have a great cadence to them that's appealing to a wide audience range, and they aren't shying away from the darker ninja stuff (like episode 4).
I've got to say though that I really hate the claymation style cgi. Seriously, it's awful. The art direction and everything else - the styling, voice acting, etc is all terrific. But the actual execution of the animation really takes me out off it during those claymation like moments.

I never had doubts about the show since I first heard about it - that's pretty much why I registered to this forum, to get info and share opinions.
Glad haters are less prominent.

I had a few misgivings about this show before it aired, but those have been laid to rest now. I love the show a lot and feel that it's a really great interpretation of the franchise. I'm glad other people are taking notice and opening up their minds.

I've noticed that on Nick's TMNT messageboard, activity has picked up since the premiere and there are over 60 active topics with a post within the past 24 hours. Even simple topics that say "Who are the ninja turtles", somebody responds with "THEY R AWESOME". Since that board feeds right into the Facebook crowd, its safe to say that we've entered a new high point in the franchise's history, and I feel that the best days of this wave are still yet to come with the upcoming Thanksgiving/Holiday season promotions, more and more merchandise, and eventually the movies. Let's enjoy it while it lasts!

Very cool :) I should check in on the nick messageboards, sounds like a cool place to check the pulse on the younger crowd's feelings towards the new show.

HAHAHAHAAH!!!:):):):) I was sure that all of them who were complaing about the show that at the end they will like it! Most of these people were complaing even before the premiere because they thought that the animation was bad. But now when the show started they realized how awesome it is and they stopped bashing it.:) Great work Nick!:D

Some people aren't watching though. There are always people who say, "Oh I'll give it a chance eventually," but never actually do.
The way I see it, all of us hardcore Turtle fans are watching, but many of those casuals from 15 years ago aren't.

The handful of 30/40 year olds turning into a children's cartoon complaining that it's not enough like their favorite cartoon from the 80s just makes me laugh.
On multiple levels.

Before the show premiered I wasn't sure what to think - as a grown man I don't watch that many new cartoons for entertainment - but the show surprised me with how much more fun it is than the 4Kids show was. So far I haven't been impressed with the mutant monsters, but everything else has been cool - the interaction of the Turtles and Splinter, the voice acting, the designs, etc. Of the people who were complaining about it, I think most of them just let it go and moved on.
I have noticed kids seem to be a lot more into it than I noticed with the 4Kids show (at least the kids I've seen, out and about at Target, Wal Mart, Toys R Us, etc).

The kids watching the Nick show today weren't even BORN when the 4kids show was airing, (at least back in 2003 when it first started)

It's more kid friendly. That's been clear from the get-go, nothing profound here.

I'd attribute the "humor that even an adult can laugh at" to Peter "I Produced Animaniacs You Know" Hastings.

Oh clam up. I rewatch the old show all the time and it still holds up. Saying it "doesnt age well as an adult" is a fad in itself.

It stands for Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness.
Anyway, it is nice to see the hate for the show dying down, though there are still a few negitive comments.

The new show is alright. I definitely like the animation. I keep trying to tell myself it's a kid show, but sometimes it's too kiddy for my own personal tastes. I am 28 and I great up with the OT and enjoyed 2k3. I'm trying to give it at least the first season but I make a decision on whether or not to keep watching. The 4th episode has been the best of the 5 so far.

The show is similar to Teen Titans. Its silly but it also has a coherent plot structure and strong characters to carry the show. And like Teen Titans, I am sure this show can get dark when it needs to be, as shown by Tang Shen's death.

I agree with that. One of my co-workers commented something like that..."It's not the original show!" And I had said, "Yeah but it's a new version of TMNT, give it a chance!", and she seemed to shrug me off, like she's living in the past. So yeah....she's definitely one of those people you're referring to, so her opinion hardly matters, ;)

I agree, it seems to be pretty much a perfect blend of the OT and 2k3 series so far, with the flexibility to go more light like the OT or darker like the 2k3 series if the situation calls for it.
I originally wasn't a fan of the animation style when we got our first glimpses of the turtles, but it really looks pretty great so far, really digging this series, I think it's really on the right track to being great.
Really my only minor complaint is the way Splinter looks, he kind of reminds me of Anubis, other than that its all good

I was always for it but to be fair i wasn't very happy about the 2K3 series and how it was different from the 87 series (until i learned it followed the comic books). However it still has a lot of similarities to the 87 series. Also of course its not marketed to those who are fans of the 87 series hell i'm out of the target demographic and i wasn't alive until 89. The target market are probably too young to remember much of the 2K3 series also. Also what should they care what we think we are a small part of the audience and most of us will watch anyway. I mean i watched all the Next mutation episodes. I'm just glad they are keeping it alive. Realistically TMNT should have stopped being on TV after Next Mutation 2K3 kind of took a risk bringing it back. The only question I have is are they going to remain Mutants or are they really Aliens. I think that is what people were upset about.
