View Full Version : Nick Shows Out of Order?

This has been mentioned before, but after watching this week's "Metalhead" episode (which was great), it very much seems that the episodes are being shown out of order. To me, it seems as if this episode should/could have fallen in place immediately after the Krang/April debut episode.

Any confirmation of this? If so, hopefully any dvd release will include them in the correct sequence.

If we hadn't run Ciro off, we could have asked him.

Ah, what the hey. Hey, Ciro! Are these episodes in the correct order, or are they being released in production order?

It'll be easier to piece together a more continuity friendly episode guide once the season finishes, that is if there are more inconsistencies or if we get someone to say that it is being aired out of order.

If it was up to me:
Rise of the Turtles
Old Friend, New Enemy
Metalhead
I think his name is Baxter Stockman
Turtle Temper

Sounds good to me!

I find it a bit bizarre the Kraang are getting so much more screentime than the Foot Clan.

We've just barely seen the Foot in 1 episode so far.

I actually think it's brilliant. Dangle bits and pieces of Foot lore on front of us building anticipation while developing the universe then BAM hit us with something awesome later in the season.

I also mean that its getting a little stale. As much as I like the Kraang so far, their interactions with the Turtles have been pretty much the same in every episode so far.

So if it was the Foot having the same thing happen week after week it wouldn't be boring?

Anyway I was kind of thinking the same thing, the show seems to be a little mixed up. Yet at the same time it seems the show is more self contained each episode.

Woah, I had no idea that happened! A pity...

Got a link to the thread where the deed went down?

I think the purpose of the Kraang is also to give the turtles a recurring enemy while the foot can remain the main enemy and not suffer from villain decay and remain a threat.

Also... the TMNT really get to sink their weapons into the Kraang-droids since robots are fair game for extreme violence! :tlol:

I think the kraang are there so the Turtles can slice them up. They can't really do that with human enemies.

I dunno. This show just doesn't have a super-tight continuity is all.

Turtle Temper

That makes sense to me. I'll have to scrutinize that list further and see if there's any contradiction's in it.

Yeah. If anyone can do it, you can.

I doubt it's out of order, though. I just think it's intentionally kept loose.

It can be kept loose now, but as the series progresses obvious story elements will arise making the show seem wrong if its out of order.

Totally agree with you here, FL. Give them time to flesh out the Foot and give us a good fight later. I'm going to predict that "Never Say Xever" is when we'll get to see them again.

I've been kind of getting the feeling that the episodes are being aired out of order a bit too. 'Turtle Temper' seemed like a REALLY weird episode 3 for some reason. When I look back on it, it feels like a decent enough episode on it's own, but it's just...not a very good episode 3.

Also, the stuff with April seems kind of weird too. She seems to come and go in weird ways, and we still haven't seen her meeting Splinter, despite her having been in the lair a few times now. And her dialogue along the lines of 'Think like a ninja' when she was trying to hide out seems to me to indicate she's started training with Splinter...which we again, haven't seen a bit of.

Then there's Donnie's bo, the blade that can pop out of it. He randomly used it in one of the episodes before the last one, but he didn't use it even once in 'Metalhead' despite his constant complaints about his 'stick' being too basic. That just seemed odd to me.

So yeah, there's a good chunk of evidence to show that these episodes seem to be airing out of order.

Also, the way things are looking right now, it seems like we might be getting two Don-centric episodes in a row. Not that I'm complaining, but it does seem a bit odd. Makes me wonder if there isn't something to this whole aired-out-of-order theory.

CyberCubed

They may not be out of order, but it sure seems that way.

The next few episodes can't be switched around though, as its the second meeting of Xever, Chris, and eventually Baxter and Shredder.

Are you not familiar with action cartoons? Shows like Batman, Gargoyles, Teen Titans, Justice League, etc. were all aired out of order on TV.

Hell in the TMNT fandom, we got Fast Forward aired BEFORE Season 5 as everyone remembers.

Not really familiar with them... I'm just trying to understand what's the point. how does it benefit the network?

Jester

It's a matter of production order vs. story order. Some episodes get pushed back because something is spotted and needs to be fixed, and so as the episodes are finished being produced, they are aired.

only thing I can think of is Don's pop-up Naginata, appear once and it was before him complaining about just wielding a stick.

Yep, noticed that too. Seems weird complaining about just having a stick, when he actually have a type of naginata. It make sense if the order of the episodes is wrong though.

Some of the eps do feel a bit off but all in all its a great show. It takes bits a pieces of near all turtle incarnations and mixes them well IMO :)

In order to garner interest, the episodes the suits deem to be the strongest will get initial airtime priority.

Shows do it all the time: it's what doomed "Firefly". "Eureka" season 1 was also out of order, to give another example.

CyberCubed

Come to think of it most shows I've watched over the years had their original airings out of order.

I remember watching DVD sets of shows and being surprised what the proper order was compared to what it aired on TV.

I think Warner Bros. is the only company that doesn't do that, especially when it comes to their more continuity heavy shows like Smallville.

The way April interacted with Splinter seemed like she already met him off screen. So far, its reasonable that the episodes are all in order. We basically have the Kraang plot, the Foot/Shredder plot, the Baxter plot, the April as a ninja/Kirby plot, and the Dogpound/Fishface plot all in order that will have lots of resolution to do, and I enjoy the mix of 4kids pacing/action with the episodic OT-style plots.

So I think I like Metalhead as the second episode, since that's when April set up her Kraang-forum to get leads on them.

Hey has anyone noticed that in the description for the 10th episode...

it says Bradford infiltrates the sewers? Makes me wonder if the episode will take place before the last episode where he and Xever were mutated, or if they just used his human name in the description to keep people from learning when the mutation happens.

ToTheNines

His name is still Bradford. I'm sure Mikey just calls him Dogpound as an insult. And to have something snazzy to put on the toy boxes.

CyberCubed
11-19-2012, 04:09 PM
Maybe the summary mentions his human name so as not to spoil his mutation. Remember when those summaries were first shown we didn't know how long it'd take for them to be mutated.

Didn't stop em from ruining it by giving away the secret on the back of the figure boxes months ago... You could hear me cussing halfway across Target when I read it.

I have a feeling Bradford will be mutated when he infiltrates the sewers with the chemical. We'll have to wait and see though. If he's still human then we know the eps are out of order.

Bradford already mutated in last episode when the turltes fight Shredder.

I did read the last post, did you read the post I quoted. He already mutated in THE LAST EPISODE, which didn't take place in the sewer. Meaning, his speculation Bradford mutating inthe sewer is off when already mutated ON THE ROOF while fighting the turtles.

BubblyShell22

What I meant was that he'll probably already be mutated when he infiltrates the sewer. The question was whether he'd still be human in that episode or if he'd be in his mutated form. So that's what I meant. And if he's still human, then we know the eps are aired out of order. If not, then they aren't totally out of order.
