When we last saw that deranged one-eyed mutant feline...
Baxter Stockman shot him point blank. So is he dead or what?

Well we've already seen him again in flashback, but yes I do think he'll be back.

Jepheal, there is alot going on right now between the Slash plot,Krang and Dimension X coming up, and Leo as Shredder's second-in-command replacement plots so Hob will have to take a back seat for a few months. Though he is not dead just the character is taking a short break while other plots are covered. Old Hob fans need not to worry.

I'm sure he'll be back. Comic book characters don't stay dead for long, and this isn't Mirage Comics.

Absolutely. I hope to see him join the Foot Clan.

I don't think so, since Old Hob had lost all of his abilities and when another villain kills a villain, it makes the purpose of reviving a villain much less. There are so many old villains to cover that I doubt we'll be seeing Old Hob again except perhaps in the Nick series (he could make a great companion to Dogpound).

What?
I'm still thinking they'll bring him back as IDW's Verminator X.

I'd rather they introduce Vernon as Vernonator X.

Honestly, I forgot all about job.

I'm kinda hoping that will happen.

If they actually refer to him as Verminator X in-story, I'm out.

Old Hob is like the IDW version of the classic villain sidekick character who will probably stick around for the entire run of the series.
He's this series version of Bebop/Rocksteady, or Hun, or Dogpound/Fishface....I can see him sticking around.
As also pointed out, Old Hob lost every single fight he was ever in, and he was knocked out by Foot soldiers too when they came to get Splinter. He basically fits the bill of the, "bumbling mutant sidekick" type character....even if he's not as dumb as Bebop/Rocksteady were.

I agree that there is way too much going on right now and I want them to take their time exploring everything they have introduced so far. It would be a great surprise to see him show up in 10, 20, or 30 issues. Just as I would like to see what the Triceraton would be like in the IDWverse, I want them to wait and not just throw them in for the sake of a cheap one-time pop. I would be behind Old Hob getting his own 4 issue story arc in the future, as long as it made sense and did not harm anything else already going on.

Thinking on it during work... he's been shot point blank in the chest on a skyscraper all on his lonesome.
He hasn't been particularly effective in anything he's done, and stronger, better villains are starting to make headway...
I think I'd prefer he just die off. He was an antagonist for the first year of the book, and things just didn't work out well for him. Sucks to be him, ya know?

You're not wrong. It is would be nice for someone to stay dead once they die. Then again, he was the first new mutant of the series and we have grown attached to him slightly.

What do you mean by "lost all his abilities"? What kind of abilities did he have and how did he lose them? Are you talking about the blood samples they took? I don't think they made him any weaker, I think he was just never that strong to begin with.
I agree that there are much better things to focus on in the series right now, but it seems like they purposely left his "death" open ended, nobody even looked at him after he got shot then they just left right away. I'm not sure if they actually have anything planned for him or if they left his "death" open ended just in case they think of a good story arc for him in the distant future, but either way I don't think that we'll see him for a while.

I think we will see him again as a Verminator X type character, working alongside the Shredder.

When Tom Waltz was asked which of the other characters can we expect from the Micro Series, and when will it start again, he said
"Bobby can probably answer that one best, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Old Hob somewhere down the line. I can’t wait for that one! Love that cat!"
