I do like the store, nothing but good experience, but there´s a lot of haters round there. So why it is hated?

Price gouging. Basically a nicer version of footballorange guy. They rarely if ever have a sale. Until they are more competitively priced, I will stray from that site at all costs.

Id rather spend hours digging through bins at garage sales looking for accessories than pay what they ask for one grenade or bomb.

I dont hate Tom or his store neither!!!! :teek:

.....I had bought from him thanks to a friend in USA for saving in shipping cost...Nice stuff and sometimes so great rare items, excelent service for customers, ....just as everybody points sometimes the price is disheartening! :trazz:

Anyway that´s the deal...you accept it or not...! :tgrin:

It was the same for me :x then again i'm in argentina, but that's usually the shipping cost i'd pay for a figure...guess i was hoping it'd be cheaper for a handful of small, lightweight accesories.
And i was dissapointed at some prices...i'd never pay $5 for splinters' robe lol...but overall i don't hate the site, they've plenty of items that are in the $0.10-$1 range that i'd like to get...i'll definitely shop there once i can get some more paypal.

Thing is...a single accesory here costs anything from $1.50 to $4, no telling if they're playmates, and there are no bargain bins or garage sales for me to turn to, so despite the $8 shipping cost, it may still be worth it for the $0.10-$1 items :tgrin: i just need the basics (turtles' belts, sai, katanas, chucks, bo) :( paying $28 for 7 weapons seems outrageous, and noone even seems to be selling belts here.

myteefinestuff is a Great site which we should be thankful for that it exists!
I ordered a few times from Tom and the experience has always been awesome.
He refunded me shipping which was incorrect on his calculator at checkout and he ships lightning fast! Packs everything very securely and is very accurate!

The complete figures and the MOSC figures themselves and some of the repro labels are too overpriced imo.

BUT he has some really good prices on accessories imo!!! Way better than eBay because of their crazy seller fees! Just the early stuff is expensive because it breaks so easily and is rare and the later stuff because it is rare.

Nickokapo
11-10-2012, 12:49 PM
Even tho i don't understand the pricing on many of the items, i gotta admit it's a pretty good resource :o because of the sheer amount of stuff that's on there...maybe it's aimed at hardcore collectors or the pricey items are rare...i can't justify spending that kind of money on accesories atm myself (like the ones that are like $5 a pop like the splinter robe i wanted :tanime:) but then again i may be the exception since i'm broke as ****, other people may consider it pocket change XD i have to be as frugal as i can...well, anyway...his store, his prices, so i'll simply opt just not to buy pricier items.

Anyway, i checked my mail today and he had sent me emails regarding my order like 10 days ago :toops: i hope i didn't come across as rude, i just didn't check my inbox, d'oh!I replied explaining the situation...

I've always defended Tom and his site. I honestly don't think a large majority of his stock is actually overpriced. I think that often times, his prices are competitive with "end of auction" prices on items. He is basically the "buy it now" price. You're paying for the convenience of not having to bid against anyone. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Are SOME of his items way off the mark? Sure. But there are plenty of fair prices as well.

I noticed he has many cheap loose figures (some cheaper than certain single accesories, lolrarity '3')
Anybody know if it'd be possible to inquire about shipping costs without placing an order?I don't see myself spending $1000 on kids toys or anything but i could easily spend $100 on those $3-10 figs XD
The problem for me now is getting hold of paypal funds (the service i used to transfer cah to paypal discontinued it's service)
In my experience if the site ever overcharges for shipping, he re-imburses you.

I've had no problems with myteefinestuff. Some things are overpriced, but I also got some great deals from him, too!! I bought a complete Pizza Thrower with instructions from him a few years ago for only $25. I've also bought many accessories from him to complete my Mutant Module, Turtle Blimp II, and Footski. He's also quick to respond via email if you have a question.

Place is legit, never had any issues and always answers questions when sent his way. It is supply and demand, don't blame him for seizing an opportunity in the market. You can always roll the dice on eBay!

I found out about him from this site when I joined a few weeks ago. Some folks on another thread mentioned myteefinestuff, so I checked it out and I got a handful of accessories for a very fair price - cheaper than eBay and cheaper than someone on this site who had some of the stuff for sale that I needed.

Sure, I'd prefer to find it all at a garage sale, but that's a crap shoot at best; and sure, I'd have bought even more if some pieces weren't out of the range I was willing to pay, but that's life.

Shipping was quoted high (but still fair and better than eBay etc) but he dropped it a bit anyways.

Good experience here.

I needed a mirror, radar base, and 2 missile launchers for my Party Wagon and just now got the whole lot at myteefinestuff for $4.50! Nothing but positive experiences with the site. Will always refund you a portion of the shipping if the site overcharges you. Some items are admittedly priced fairly high, but there are tons of other items that are fairly priced or better. He'll always respond to your emails promptly and he doesn't wait a long time to ship.

Have bought from the site in the past and quite possible I will be doing so again in the future if need be.

I just bought 6 1988 figures from him recently - Same as everyone else, he refunded extra shipping. He also upgraded one of my purchases free of charge because of some wear to the bubble/card that he had missed on his original inspection.

Some items are a touch more than you'd find on eBay, but his descriptions are 100% accurate and reliable. You know what you're getting.

Lastly, all my items came in in better condition than I even expected.

Every single online seller overcharges for tmnt toys (loose figures anyway). Honestly, if you are patient you can find loose figures for 25 cents to a dollar each at garage sales/thrift stores. Every child in america at one point owned tmnt action figures. They are not rare(most), and the price is only defined by what idiots are willing to pay on ebay.

I've had good experiences with the site in the past, but haven't ordered from it in a while. It was nice to be able to buy figures and whatnot that I've played with as a kid as hand-me-downs but never actually owned. I've had bad experiences on eBay in the past, so I tend to stay away from there. And hey, at least I can I get the accessories I need for a fair price. I just think people like to hate on the site because it's an easy way out in comparison to eBay, but I'd rather not bid on something as if my life depended on it.

He is becoming more and more difficult to sell to in his old age, I will say that-- if you offer him extra inventory-- but seriously a great guy, very friendly-- and I understand his frustrations with some of our frustrations. Technodrome members are either MORE than willing to pay above and beyond actual value for items if they know the seller has gone through a lot of trouble for them (Luzmagica, Canadiandrome, and DF619 are good examples)-- OR they are constantly low-balling sellers (I won't give examples publicly here). I mentioned this to Tom at one point, and his response was something along the lines of "a lot of people don't realize how much time and money goes into maintaining a website like mine, or storing so much inventory). Apparently he stopped buying off eBay because he likes getting good stuff at extremely low prices and he got tired of getting stuff that wasn't as described and not being able to do anything about it. He'll list a MOC figure as loose/complete if the packaging is in very shoddy shape.

If you're looking to sell to him, he doesn't pay much (I think he's over-stocked in 1988 Foot Soldiers because I had asked him what he paid for those and Movie Star Foot Soldiers), he won't buy from you unless you have $50 worth of merchandise (based on what he's willing to pay for it), and he doesn't pay you for it until AFTER he has received it, because if he doesn't like it when he gets it he can then send it back to you.

Edit: Just reread what several other people have said. He's not a scalper per se, anyone can get on eBay and bid-- it isn't like he's beating you to the store to buy up NEW figures. As far as buying stuff and trying to sell it for ten times what he paid for it, that's called capitalism, and that's what makes this country go around. You spend MANY hours as a seller trying to find good deals on items that you can actually re-sell quickly, and then you have to lot up whatever crap is leftover to get rid of it. Your profit is really and truly payment for your work/time. It is no secret that there are HUGE lots of TMNT figures on eBay all of the time, but for people who only want to buy one figure at a time and not be stuck with a bunch of stuff they consider garbage, they're paying someone like me $15 to $20 a figure not to have to pay $40 or $50 for a bunch of stuff just because they wanted one figure, and to be stuck with a bunch of other toys that they consider garbage. That's not to say that I've never bought ONE figure and "flipped" it.

Everyone keeps saying that myteefinestuff prices are so expensive and I don't understand. They're no worse than ebay prices. Often they're better. It's great that you found a figure for half the price here on the drome, but 90% of the time I can't find what I'm looking for in the trade forums. Sure garage sales and thrift stores are much cheaper, but they're not at all reliable. For me, it usually ends up costing less money and less time to just buy what I need all at the same place and save on shipping.

Yes, but you are one of those few people that appreciate the amount of work involved in procuring items that are in good condition and having to sit on them until they sell. Most Technodromers have a seriously bad entitlement attitude.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I was just doing some quick research to make sure the site was legit and found this thread. Looks like the guy's very reputable, so I went forward and placed my order.

I wanted to comment on the negative remarks made here about his "overpriced" stuff. I'm a guy with not a ton of time to drive around to various conventions and toy shows to find a single blaster or sword. I know some of the tiny accessories might seem like they are on the high end, but let's be realistic here... How often are you going to come across obscure TMNT vehicle parts at garage sales or even toy shows that are over 20 years old? I've been to A LOT of events over the last 5 years and haven't found anything to what was all there on that site. I just purchased missing parts from my old Mutant Module I have been aching to finding replacement pieces for and i'll tell you now, it was worth every penny and I cannot wait to receive everything. I'm so stoked to have once again completed a 100% TMNT Mutant Module (well... minus the original instructions).

What's your time worth to you? This site is a no-brainer.

Myteefinestuff is awesome if you're trying to complete a figure's accessories/parts. Shipping costs can be high, but I recommend that you buy loads of stuff on myteefinestuff so he can combine the products in one large box (rather than paying a lot for shipping for just one item).

I'm currently doing a MOC of April O'Neils Channel 6 NewsVan. I painted it an awesome light blue and even printed the Channel 6 logo from the upcoming movie on transparency sheet. I'm now hunting for some accessories from the old Channel 6 van to give it some retro love.

Long story short, I emailed myteefine and the guy was extremely polite in his reply and gave me navigation tips to find the parts on his site. What turned me off is when I saw the news-cart dissasembled into 3 or 4 pieces, with each component piece listed at 30 - 40 dollars. To make that cart would be well over 100 bucks plus shipping?? I really shouldn't complain as something is always worth what someone else is willing to pay. I know the old adage Don't like the price, don't buy, but to disassemble the cart to sell it's components separately???? It totally turned me off. I'll join the majority of you guys at the garage sales thanks. :)

just placed my first order on there. mostly bought a bunch of weapons for figures i had as a kid that got lost. now i want to collect them complete. I love the site i have no reason to think i will be dissatisfied when my order gets here. like others have said on here in my opinion, the prices beat scouring ebay and having to buy repeats of things like weapons or whole figures just to get an accessory or two. just pick out what you need and wait for it to come in the mail. i spend enough time already going to TRU every day looking for new figs, i don't need to be searching ebay like crazy for muck man's head plug at a decent price!

I didnt know this place existed. Its pretty nice. Theres some stuff Id buy if I had the extra money. Most prices seem ok...but some are beyond ridiculous.

Like the movie turtles are upwards of $500. Close to a thousand. Just checked amazon and the same ones are under or around $100 new in package so thats a clear ripoff.

Also the complete trading card set is $8,500. How did they ever figure that? I like how its marked down from $9,000 lol.

You mean all the movie turtles on the site or the ones on amazon? The amazon ones are a great deal imo. I mean you have to expect for figures that old to be over $50 alone and theyre new in the package.

Myteefine also have the van for $300+. Amazon has one for $50 and then one for $180. I didnt look at the box. I assume their pricing is based on the original and not the re-release from the anniversary. Even so thats a significant difference.

I know there are other places online. I just use amazon as a starting point for stuff.

I'vehhad my ups and downs purchasing from him. I don't think I'd recommend him for loose figures because he list them as ''Mint' ' but they are definitely used a bit paint fading loose joints etc . Great as resource for RAREffigures that I end up finding for 50 percentcheaper on eeBay or Amazon. He was selling a loose dragon Lord with RARE red accessories for 125 that I found MOC on eBay for 29 dollars. I'd recommend the site for accessories likeeeveryone said.
