Hi all,
sorry if this duplicates something mentioned elsewhere. Last I heard there was a chance of The Forever War being completed by fans using original scripts. What ever came of that?
(As an aside, I know the title has been mentioned to IDW numerous times. Can we hope? :D )
Thanks!

I believe its more of a fan project now, similar to Andrew's Image conclusion.
I doubt we'll ever see it officially published with Murphy as the writer.

Murphy was going to turn over his script to be done up but he changed his mind. Seems to be he's holding out for IDW to allow him to do it (hopefully with Chris) in a few years.
I don't think anyone is interested in doing a fan-driven "Forever War" without Murphy's scripts. Or reading such a thing.

I'd be interested in reading it. Why should we have to wait forever? :tlol:
[I really had no plan on making that pun when I started typing this reply; it just happened. :trolleye: ]

I've just about given up on the idea that we'll ever get to read that story. If it happens, great, but I'm not gonna keep holding my breath hoping for it to come out.

I think it'd be great to see this one get an official finish with Murphy and Allan through IDW. I'm not against a fan project along the lines of what was done with Odyssey though. If IDW isn't able to come through, I'd be more than happy to pitch in to get Murphy and Allan to do it unofficially, and I know I'm not alone in that sentiment.

What's stopping him? IDW seems open to the idea based on what Bobby said.
They can't possibly be waiting for the Archie trades to finish, as with only 4 issues per collection it'll take till 2016 or later just for IDW to release the entire Archie series.

I can sort of see an upside to that. If Murphy got started on the project now, it'll give him a whole 3-4 years to re-develope the story.

I hope this project gets to see the light of day; Murph is one helluvan underrated writer. I'm seriously surprised he's never gained critical acclaim.
Most people only remember Zulli's name from "Puma Blues" and think he wrote/drew the series.

Actually I think the reason I picked up the one issue of Puma Blues I own was because it had Murph's name on it... :P

Same here, but I'm referring to the broader comic audience.
A couple months back someone was asking about environmentally focused comics preceding Moore's run on Swamp Thing and someone suggested "Zulli's Puma Blues" to which I had to set the record straight.

I concur, it seems like it would be silly and unnecessary for them to wait so long to release a comic that fans have already had to wait SOO long for already.

I don't think Murphy needs quite THAT long in order to finish an exceptional product.

A lot of people probably don't like his extremely far left politics or his views on religion/God. He's the kind of guy who refuses to sell out. His politics are too far to the left for me personally [these days] but I still f**kin' love the guy as a person and as a writer. Nicest guy in the world.

For sure! Do you follow is "Contains Traces Of" blog?
It's a very introspective and personal story, but also reveals (from his perspective) a lot of the changes Mirage endured over the years from the heyday through the 4Kids! era.
