Classic Playmates Sculpts based on which artist?

[Jester]

So...looking through peoples' sale threads and acquisitions I've seen Turtles that make me wonder if they are based on certain artist depictions of the Turtles.

I mean, the Pizza Tossin' and Deep Diver Leo look familiar. Can anyone help me place them?

Hedden & McWeeney's designs seem the most likely inspiration for the Pizza Tossin' Turtles' look.

Kinda what I was thinking. Deep Sea Leo seems to be Simpson from a couple Archie issues.....maybe.

I've always thought the pizza tossin turtles looked like they're going for the Rat Fink style.
