I took a hike over to the GameFaqs.com msg boards today and was extremely sad at the state of the TMNT game msg board. The poor souls were listing off characters they knew. One fellow was saying he knew everything about the TMNT then never even put the Utroms, Fugitoid, or even Casey Jones in his list, which consisted mostly of a mix of some of the terrible action figures released and a few characters from the old cartoon. I attempted to make contact but they were too far gone. They spoke of how Shredder was one of the greatest villians created and when I added it was true even though the TMNT only ever fought the real Shredder once they jumped all over me like a pack of rabid animals. They scolded me and called me a troll when I told them that all TMNT originally had red masks. I couldn't bare to see these poor souls suffer any longer, so I told them of a place called thetechnodrome.com. I told them we would educate them on the ways of the turtle, but they marked me for trolling/spaming and had my post deleted. What has our TMNT world come to? I shall shed a tear every night when I go to sleep...thinking of those poor lost souls.

Yeah, TMNT might have been most popular independent comic, but still it is the mass marketed cartoon that most people know. One good reason might be that not much Mirage was taken outside US. And the original Mirage fans who were teenagers then are probably a rare sight on TMNT forums.

The only people on those boards are probably 14 year old nerds who worship anime. I wouldn't even want to look at those boards, much less post on them.

Come on, Matt; no need to bee too harsh about us :D

Anyway, what I say we should ALL do is sign up over at those forums and either "spam" or "troll" as they say about how TMNT really is and then see what their reaction is.

Mike, I think you would've done a better job of convincing them if you'd have done what I do all the time and go into uber-long lecture posts. THAT'LL show 'em!

:lol: I'm afraid to go back to that board. They worship one of the posters there because he knew the names of all the Mutanimals. I'm afraid to return not just because of their vicious flaming ways but also because they spell worse than a 2 year old.

Like when I was at a comic con, advertising all the Turtley goodness that is and was to come, I had to correct sooooo many people on:

1. Why is Leo's mask red? (upon seeing the statue of him)
2. That the Dreamwave poster was for a COMIC, not a new movie.
3. Are those really TMNT movie props?
4. Why is Kevin posing in a picture with two Leonardo's? (they don't know who Venus is)

Go to gamefaqs.com and from there you can choose which system you want to go to. I was at all 3. Then choose T and scroll down. You should find the game. It's quite easy to find. GK speaks the truth. You goptta remember, the GameFAQ boards are probably populated by kids 14 and under. So you may not get intelligent conversations from them. :wink:

I love videogames, but the forums on GameFaqs were too weird for me. And poor Mikey... Trying to educate the poor lost souls. I've seen lots of instances where people get attacked for trying to say something that isn't of popular belief. Ah well. Can't win 'em all.

Keep in mind the origin of Leet speek though... hackers needed a way to post their tips, with out the government finding their sites and arresting them for various reasons... so they used codes to talk.

I really doubt those people are as 1335 45 7h3y 54y 7h3y say they are though :lol: .

I find it REALLY sad that someone who claims to know all about TMNT diden't list the Utroms, or even Casey who's much better known :roll: . Lets do Rez's plan and swarm the board :evilgrin: . I'm registed there already, but I think as FailedToFail (don't remember.. haven't been their for ever). They really do need to be schooled.

Being reminded of that fact is actually kinda good for me because it keeps me from being a total jackass on them...

I just bought the game Brute Force (which came out on wed I think) so I decided to check out the boards. One day, ONE DAY after the game came out people who asked simple questions about the game were being called n00bs and R374rdEZ, had their posts mark for trolling and then were told to leave the boards. How can someone call someone else a newbie when the game has been out for 1 day?

Posting short, umimportant posts (usually thread-starting ones) that either consist of something related to the forum but are only a few words long (such as post going like this: "I like TMNT"), or, as some have put it, "spamming on topic".

It's a bit tough to explain, however. That's the best way I could put it.

They're pretty strict over there. Mostly because either 1) no one has a sense of humor or 2) they're too stupid to realize that some posts are ment as jokes.

Try it out. They would be all over you in a matter of seconds. The topic would be gone in a matter of minutes. One thing I must say about them is that they are quite the loyal group of followers. You know what they say about stupid people in large groups. There's one board I can think of where there are only a few 1337 5p34K3rZ and that's the Animal Crossing board.
