MM... shweet! Seems like I've been reading a lot about the DW guys lately too. Neil better get the rest of his DW interviews in before long.

Some highlights I really dig...

LESEAN: My own, I had created really lame superheroes of color when I was young. They were heroes of the hood, who whupped Marvel characters' butts.lol! I only drew Marvel characters when my bro did them. I liked looking at the characters, but I never drew 'em. I'd trace over torn comic pages holding them up to the light through my room window.

I did go through a serious "Voltron" phase and "Jackson 5" cartoon drawings for a couple weeks when they were on tv.

Voltron? :lol: :wink: I'll get over that. The tidbit about the tracing and inventing of characters is cool. Does go to show that tracing isn't all bad if you're just trying to figure out the art.

THE PULSE: How is this series different from the other ones?

LESEAN: DW. Peter David. Animated flair. Revamp. Those are huge reasons why its different. Its being produced in an animated flavor. Its being produced by DW?! That's noise in itself, heh. Peter David? The story's locked. And I'm going to drop fight sequences on a "Matrix" level. With serious ninja fighting as the series goes on. Its Turtles unlike you've seen them. Like I mentioned before, it's "Teenage Mutant Ninja SCROLL". Fun stuff for real.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja SCROLL" ... mmmm! Now I'm getting curious.

The parts about his urban background influencing how he'll draw things sounds great. Reminescent of the Mirage issue with Raph and Lucindra, but expanded.

LESEAN: Well I can't reveal too much. You'll just have to wait and see. But I can say Peter David's done a fantastic job in manipulating an original run in the first arc that's still connected to the first arc of episodes on the cartoon. It's like a "behind-the-scenes" of each episode. What we don't see happening when watching the episodes on television.

Ahhh.. I assumed that's what they would do. Fill in the gaps, persay, of scenes that were left out of the cartoon story line. :wink:

Im wondering about the ninja scroll part too. The anime is Very violent, could this mean we are getting more than just a second archie series?

I think it's awesome that it will fill in the gaps of the show. This way it can flesh out the already existing continutity. A continuity which thus far has been fantastic.

Well I doubt we will be seeing exactly that angle, Everyone who have seen the movie knows what I mean. It's EXTREMELY violent, and not just killing. But this could mean that it does have graphic violence to some extent.
