Hey, guys. I'm not good at these introduction posts, but here goes.
I've been a TMNT fan since childhood; it was my major obsession back then. My brother and I had a tub full of the toys and everything, watched the movies constantly, and I believe we even constructed (poorly) our own Turtles III honor guard costumes once (before acknowledging how terrible that film is). I ended up giving the toys to my cousin when I grew out of it and TMNT took a backseat to other interests.
I missed the boat for geeking out over the 4Kids series, as I didn't watch it until it had all already aired. I hope to remedy that with the Nick reboot, which is awesome thus far. I picked up a couple of the new basic turtles, my first action figure purchase since I was a kid, and I absolutely love them. I'm now diving, or wading, back into the depths of turtle mania; though I'll likely be more of a lurker at least to begin with.

lameonardo?... whaaaa... anyway while we have differing views on that particular turtle, i say welcome aboard dude! i'm glad the nick series is reviving old fans. and it is doing an awesome job thus far. i am kind of curious of your homemade costume though. i find it cool how fans create their own costume no matter how crappy or awesome they may think it looks... i find that pretty awesome. again... welcome aboard!

Leo's my favorite, actually. That's just a nod to one of the Nick episodes.
As for the costumes, I believe we made them out of that heavyweight paper and tape; and just did the armor pieces, helmets, and masks. Nothing too creative. I also remember making a big wooden beanbag target thing of Raphael with my dad for a boy scout event. I think that was the extent of my turtle-related crafts, though.

Hey there and welcome :) If you've got the time, I definitely recommend seeking out the 2003 series and give it a go. It's a completely different style than the Nick series so you may enjoy it.

Sorry for my awkward wording in the original post. :) I have seen the 2003 series, just not when it was airing. I didn't know it existed until it was over, so I ended up marathoning the episodes later on. I meant I wasn't involved with any fandom aspects at the time.
