Okay, I have a question I would like to ask everyone on here:

Let's say you were only allowed to display a certain amount of your collection, maybe due to space, an agreement with a spouse, you want redo your room or whatever the situation may be.

What figures would you display or, what figures do you feel look best displayed and why would you display these particular figures ?

The Classic Collection

1988 figures

2012 figures

NECA figures

2003 figures

Next Mutation

I know a lot of people ask questions that are really up to you, but I wanted ask to see what everyone's opinions are. Plus there are people who have wall to wall TMNT figures and others who only have few if not maybe 20-50 the most. I kind of want to get an idea for when I display whatever figures I want.

I think a good part of making that decision is gonna depend on whether or not these figures are on card. The NECA turtles for example, look way better out of package. They've got the rad bases, tons of articulation allowing great poses or even recreations of certain panels from the comics. Their packaging, though, is rather bland. That, paired with the fact they've all got red masks and the same color skin can make them a bit boring to display MOC. The 1988 turtles are fantastic to shelve in package, as each card features totally unique art. Out of the box they're still cool, but hard to stand without pegs, and no doubt limited in regards to posing. As far as standing figures up is concerned, the same logic applies to the Next Mutation series, if not even more so due to their rubber limbs causing a lack in stability. I think the Classic turtles, loose, are the coolest of them all to display, personally. I have mine out alongside my loose NECA set, sort of representing the two most arguably significant periods in turtle history and toylines respectively. I actually have the new Nick turtles next to them as well, to show the dawn of a new era. So if you can get about half of what you got out, go with those three sets as I have. Here's a picture for reference.

In the end, it's about what you like, and what's gonna be the most visually appealing.

Powder, I apologize for the late reply, as I'm very, very sick (soar throat, stuffy nose, the works) but I thank you not only for your advice, but also being kind enough to show me your kick ass display. I really love your NECA TMNT display (makes me wish I bought them individually then in the box set at the time) and I think I'm going to display the classic collection :) Thanks a lot man.

Since this question is manipulative, I'll go with three different limits:

FOUR FIGURES ONLY:

-1988 Turtles

TEN FIGURES ONLY:

-The entire 1988 line (though I'd rotate the Foot Soldier with the 1994 Krang from time to time)

TWENTY FIGURES:

-The entire 1988 line, 1994 Krang, 1989 Leatherhead, Rat King, Baxter the Fly, Casey Jones, Irma, Burne, Vernon, General Traag, Slash

I just decided on the OT since that is "Home" with regards to displaying, though I'd rotate from time to time (Movie Turtles, 2003 Turtles, Nick Turtles, 2007 Turtles).

if you got limeted space i woued say buy a deltorf from ikea. then you got 4 shelfs and can put the first line from 88,neca,2012 and classic.go to a store that sell plastic or acrylic to make stands in diffrent higs to put the figs on. it will look nice and your wife will most likly love it and if you are lucky you will get one more:)and you will have the best lines in my eyes or you can do like powder. he got a nice and small collection displayd

I have tons of figures, but right now only have space to display two series, and that is color NECA, and B&W NECA. They're by far my favourite.

I can't bring myself to take any down. It's gonna be a tough day when I have to choose to have just a few up. I keep telling my gf if we get a house the entire basement becomes my tmnt man cave. Can't wait for some glass cases.
