Shell's Fics and Plot Bunnies

Hey, I've decided to start my own thread that showcases any stories I post and also any plot bunnies I come up with just so I can get your reactions.

Right now, the plot bunny I have in my head is set in the Nick universe and is called "Mind Over Matter." The premise is that Shredder discovers he can attack the Turtles via meditation and decides to set his sights on Leo. When Leo is attacked mentally and isn't able to escape, he begins to question his self-worth and whether he can fight against Shredder on his own. Meanwhile, the others don't know what's going on and have a hard time believing that it's Shredder doing the damage to their brother. Splinter believes Leo and teaches him how to fight Shredder off.

That's the vague idea I have right now. It might change as I progress with it, but for now, that's the basic premise. So, what do you think? Does it sound good, or could I expand on it even more? I would like your feedback because I want to make sure that this sounds like a good idea. If it doesn't, then I won't write it. Thanks a million.

This is a very complex, above-the-norm idea, I really like it, it'll be interesting to see just how you portray the psychic battlefield that Leo and Shredder will project in their heads. Go for it.

Thanks. I'll do my best to see if I can do this, but I think I can. I wasn't sure if this idea was really going to work in this universe, but the episode "The Gauntlet" really showed me that this series can get dark when the situation calls for it. This fic will take place after "The Gauntlet" as well as I think that's a great lead in to this story. Thanks for the feedback.

Cool idea Shell, i'm sure you'll do a good job with it. I think the Nick universe is the right place for it too with Leo acting younger than in previous incarnations and more believably teenage. I wonder, will he go to Splinter straight away with it though or try to deal with it himself first?

Honestly, I'm not sure about that. I don't think going to Splinter straight away will be a good idea as it will make the story too short. I was thinking of a different idea, which I don't want to say here because I don't want to spoil anything.

Hey, I wanted to share with you another plot bunny that I've been working on. It's called "My Leito (pronounced lay-ee-toe) and was an idea given to me by a reviewer after she called Leo that nickname. She told me that the term is a Spanish nickname of Leonardo's name, and I thought it sounded cool, so I decided to write a story about it. In the story, Teresa Garcia is mourning the loss of her son who was killed by the Purple Dragons. When Leo rescues her from an ambush by Bradford and Xever, she believes that Leo is her son in a reincarnated form. Leo is confused by this and doesn't know what to make of it. Eventually, the two form a bond, and Teresa becomes the mother figure to Leo and the Turtles. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil it for you, but that's my latest bunny. I've already written chapter one and intend to post it soon.

So, what do you think? Is this a good idea? I really wanted to create an OC for the new Turtles universe, and I thought Teresa would be a good one. She originally is from Chile.

Have some more one-shot plot bunnies to share. Here they are:

Miss Independent: April wants to prove to the Turtles that she doesn't need help all the time and that she's capable of doing things on her own.

Longing: Splinter reflects on his life with Teng Shen and Miwa and how he misses them so much.

Temper: Splinter looks back on his mistake with Saki and how he's trying to make sure Raphael doesn't make the same mistake he did.

Because of You: April looks back on her time with her dad and how Splinter has filled that particular role.

A Shelltastic Christmas: April and her father spend Christmas with the Turtles. I might post this one up today or sometime next week. We'll see.

Ooh, and I just thought of a great idea for "Mind Over Matter" as well. I'm going to write about it today and see if I can get the second chapter finished based on what I thought of. All I'm going to say is that it'll bring back a character from my story "Hero" so if you haven't read that, I suggest you do so to get acquainted with the character even though she's minor at best.

I'm not sure when those one-shots will be up, but I so can't wait to get started on them as well as get "Mind Over Matter" up to speed.

Have a few other plot bunnies I just thought of while listening to my latest Glee soundtrack. Here they are:

Homeward Bound/Home: Takes place after "The Gauntlet" and showcases the Turtles while coming back from their defeat and afterwards. It's going to be a one-shot with two parts.

The Scientist: Don/April fic. When April tells Don they can't be together, Don takes it hard and really reflects on who he is and why he can't be truly happy.

Give Your Heart A Break: Another Don/April fic. April needs some space to think about things when Don becomes a little too needy.

Holding Out For A Hero: An OC's perspective as Leo saves her from a mugging. Really have a good idea for this one.

So, those are my bunnies thus far. Can't wait to put them up. What do you think?

I'm interested in the one with Don being all needy and April trying to catch a break from things, it sounds a bit more domestic, I'd like to see you play around with the relationship rather than abruptly bring it to a halt, I'd much rather wait for the show to give permission for that first, work within the framework of the show and try to make these stories feel like they can belong in the televised canon.

Left a review. I think it's better if you just made it all the one story, as you didnt divide it into two proper chapters (which the site gives you the option to do) and it felt too short to be a two-parter in my book, but overall it was still very good

Yeah, I could have divided it into two chapters, but I wanted to just get it out there, and when I had the idea to do a two parter that's what came to me, so that's what I went with. But I do agree it could have been better. I just didn't want to lose the idea as that happens to me sometimes and then I can't get it back. I promise the next one will be better.

Three years later, they receive mysterious text message from someone known as A. Is April back, or is someone playing a twisted game trying to lure them into a trap?

Basically, I like to think of this story as Pretty Little Liars: TMNT Style. I love the book series and the TV show, and I was thinking it would be cool to put my own spin on it with the Turtles. You don't have to a be a fan of the books or the show to read it though, but if you have questions, feel free to PM me if you get confused about it. I'm going to be working on it today and hopefully get a few chapters done. Can't wait to share it with you guys.

Yes, I agree that it'll challenge me, and I already have a basic idea of where I want it to go. It won't be exactly like the books or TV show, but certain elements of the PLL series will be in place such as the text messages themselves. I've got part of chapter one already written and will be working more on it tonight while watching wrestling.

I figured I'd give you a progression update on Truth and Lies. Chapter seven is finished and chapter eight is almost completed. I swear, I'm getting ideas for this story faster than I can write it down. This is a first for me as most of the time I end up getting writer's block way too often, but it doesn't seem to be coming on that much, which is a good thing. Maybe it's because I already have an outline of how I want the story to go, whereas most of the time, I end up getting a story idea and then changing it up as I go.

I know what it's like to sometimes write something, put it up, and suddenly change the story half-way through. That was a huge problem for my earlier JCA and Transformer fics on FF.net (before I took them down)

Yeah, I feel the same way. Or to have a story idea and not really know where you're going to take it right away. I had that for a long time, but this fic seems to be progressing better. I would have posted chapter three today, but I have a killer headache due to the lake effect snow we're getting right now. Going to continue into tomorrow, too.

Thought I'd share a plot bunny based off the latest episode. The story is called "Some Nights" and will deal with Leo having a nightmare about Splinter finishing him off while under Rat King's control. From there, Splinter talks to him about how everything will be fine, but Leo still has misgivings. I'm not sure if this will be a chapter fic or not. I'm thinking of just keeping it a one-shot. Also, I know I'm going to have plot bunnies for the Karai episode based on the previews I've seen. Can't wait to see what comes of those.

As for Truth and Lies, I'm still trying to get chapter nine finished. I hate sinus headaches.

Take your time and make sure you have a clear head when writing Bubbly, those things can be a real distraction, rest up before you keep at it.

Well, it's going to be a series of one shots with different characters' perspectives. I was originally going to place it after "New Girl In Town," and I still might and go from there. I might include other episodes as the series progresses, but it was originally going to be about Leo, Raph, and Karai. I might add other characters, too, though. We'll see what I can come up with.

Thats a good idea for a fic. I like this Raph, he's got the sarcasm and the attitude, but he's also humbled and shaped by experience. When he learns that Leo doesnt have it easy, he learns to respect his brother and even appologizes lol.

Well, another plot bunny has bitten me. I was thinking of doing a story where Miwa is raised alongside Splinter and the Turtles and what that would be like. I'm thinking of calling it "Different Paths." I'm not sure when this will be up as I want to concentrate all of my attention on "Truth and Lies" right now, but I'll try and get it up as soon as I can.

Speaking of "Truth and Lies," I just finished writing chapter nine and am starting work on chapter ten. I hope to get more done tonight if I can manage it.

It got me to thinking about what would happen if he did stay up to watch Space Heroes and how it would affect his training. I haven't thought of a title for it yet though. Still working on thinking of that.

I need help with a story.

It's going to be set during "Vacation in Europe" of the 1987 show. All I know is that I'm planning a big car chase through the (West) German motorway system, from north to south (or the opposite direction).

Another bunny I have: A Truth and Lies spinoff called Missing Links which introduces officer Gia Hernandez who is assigned to April's case and meets Raphael. I'll have to redo my chapter four of Truth and Lies because I originally used Casey in that, but I'm going to change it to have Gia in it instead. The reason is because I'd rather wait and see what the show does for Casey first before bringing him into anything.

Okay, I was doing some thinking and I've decided not to use Gia in my Truth and Lies series after all. Instead, I was thinking of using Lucindra from the Mirage comics as I think she'd be a good fit. I know a little about her such as that she befriends Raph who teaches her some self-defense, but that's pretty much all I know. I'm probably going to have to tweak her a bit to fit in my universe, but I can do that.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have another plot bunny that I just thought of today after talking about the pizza delivery boy. So, here's my idea:

Tales of a Pizza Delivery Boy

Summary: Antonio Jr. really enjoys being a delivery boy unless you count all the weird stuff that's happened to him lately. This is his story.

Basically it's different stories about what he's dealt with so far in the series. I might add more stuff that may not be in the series itself if inspiration hits. I'm not sure when this story will be out, but I hope to have it out soon. We'll see. What do you think?

When she encounters them herself, she realizes that the world she thinks she lives in isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Yep, and that was my intention. The key to creating a good OC is to give them flaws, and I feel that Tony has flaws with his temper and how to control it. So it should be interesting to see if he can harness that. I'm not sure when the next update will be, but I'll have it up as soon as I can.

I have yet another plot bunny I'm working on. I know I shouldn't be, but this bunny came to me while I was writing the final chapter of Truth and Lies (which I STILL haven't finished yet) and I felt I couldn't ignore it.

Title: Forever Mine

Plot: This involves an OC of mine named Cynthia Donnelly who meets Hamato Yoshi when he moves into her apartment building and lives right next door to her. The two become friends as Cynthia helps Yoshi adapt to life in America and he helps her learn more about the Japanese culture. When Yoshi goes to the pet store, Cynthia accompanies him to help him pick out a pet. After they encounter the Kraang, both are mutated into rats, and Cynthia now must come to terms with her new life and how she must leave her old life behind as she goes into hiding with Splinter and the Turtles and becomes their mother.

I thought it would be cool to write a story about what if the Turtles had a mother figure, so that's how I came up with this plot. I'm still writing it, but it's coming along pretty nicely, and I can't wait to share it with you guys. What do you think?

Yeah, but now that the Turtles have rescued him, I'm only going to have one more chapter about the Turtles and how they rescued Leo. I just have to work it out and see where it goes. Take your time in reading my stuff. I don't mind.

Also want to add that I might have an update for Tales of a Pizza Delivery Boy coming soon. I'm going to mirror it with season 2 and do my own spin on things as the season progresses. I doubt that Pizzaface will be Tony in the series, but even if he is, I can still work it into my overall story. I do have an idea for another chapter based on this latest episode, and I'm going to go with it and give you another chapter, so be sure to be on the lookout for it.

Thought of a plot bunny that is a crossover of TMNT and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum.

Title: Shell Out of Luck

Plot: When Stephanie and Lula go to catch a skip in New York, they encounter more than they bargained for with mutants and other weird stuff. Basically, they're trying to catch Sid from the PDs and encounter the Turtles along the way. I'm not sure when this story will be up but I'm already plotting it out and can't wait to start it. If you haven't read the Stephanie Plum series, I totally recommend it. It's so awesome.
