I already did an intro several months ago...... but I have been lurking mostly since, figured I would do a more detailed thread on my exp with the TMNT and I guess what fandom I'm into.

I was born in 88 so most of my early exposure to the turtles was the FW series and the live action movies. My parents had bought the first 2 movies for me on VHS when I was little and I had them for as long as I can remember mainly the first memory I have of watching them is prolly from 92ish when I was about 4.... I do remember the 3rd movie being advertised in theatres but didn't get to go however did get it when it came out on tape.

The FW cartoon I prolly had 6 or 7 tapes of them with about 5 or 6 episodes on each.... I really don't remember watching them on saturday mornings though mainly on USA when they did the rerun marathons I caught most of them.

I did have a 30 minute behind the scene tape on TMNT2SOTO and thats when I found out tmnt was based on comic books however I had always though the comics they were refering to were the Archie comics.... I had no idea about mirage comics.... which when I was older made much more sense to me why all the ninja turtle video games on nes they all had red masks instead of the multicolors.

The only video games I played of them back then was TMNT 4 the time one on snes and I had some fighter game on snes as well... also another one on gameboy something with the foot I dont remember I just remember I didn't care for the game boy game that much.

Then the turtle craze went down a lil bit and I remember previews for next mutation.... I watched it when I was kid and I remember liking it alot.... however here recently Iv'e went back and rewatched some of them and the only episodes I do remember are the east meets west episodes and the power ranger crossover so maybe I didn't watch hardly any of them.

After that the only thing turtles for me was the 3 live action movies which I would always watch a few times a year until the 2k3 series came out...... I remember getting into it alot but only watched the first season maybe a little of the second season and "grew out" of watching turtles.

After that reverted back to just watching the 3 live action movies for awhile to get my turtle fix.... then in 07 when I was in the Military I started seeing clips for the 2007 TMNT movie and got excited beyond anything and cound't wait..... I was hoping it was going to be another live action flick so when I found out it was CGI I was bummed but still gave it a shot and overall I really enjoyed the movie just had a beef with the last 10 or so minutes of the movie plus missing most of the 2k3 series I had no idea who Kira and who they were.

Then in 2009 I watched the turtles forever movie and loved it...... and thought it was funny how they portrayed the FW series... and that's how I thought I remembered it.....

Then after all the hype for the new live action movie well hopefully its live action and the nick toon I got back into turtles.

Since then Iv'e purchased all the FW series on DVD sucks there not on bluray but I'll take dvds..... Ive watched about half of them so far and yes at times it can seem cheesy but overall after watching them over again I think the forever movie made them out much campier than they actaully were.

Once Im done with the FW series I'm going to watch the 2k3 series I would get them on dvd/bluray but I'm not even going to try on that gaggle of dvds so most likely youtube will be my friend on the 2k3 series..... if they released a nice box set in order I'd be down for it but I doubt it would happen.

Other than that loving the new nick toon for the most part ..... still very irriated about mikey I think they made him out to be much more stupid then he ever was in any other cannons of him.... and the don/april thing is a little weird but I'd assume once they add casey in S2 the whole don/april thing will die down..

Other than that just hoping they release decent dvd/blurays for this show and not mess it up like they did with the 2k3 series..... and would love to see a decent video game made something along the lines of TMNT 4 I guess that games nostalgic for me.... I know about reshelled but by the time I got my xbox they didn't have it for downoad anymore

and I'm still waiting and hoping for the New tmnt movies and please live action live action live action

so pretty much my fandom is the movies, FW series, and now the new nicktoon...... can't really say much about the 2k3 series yet haven't seen enough but like I said I plan on watching them once Im finally done with the FW series...... tmnt IV turtles in time snes...... and a little into some of the action figures... mainly they just look cool to display on a bookcase that's about it, I just have the 4 new nicktoon ones... the tall ones that were like 30 bucks a pop.

Have never been into comics so not really my fandom... mirage will always have my respect for creating the turtles but other than that can't really stand to sit and look at comics.... maybe if they wrote actual books Id give it a shot but thats about it.

Well that's about it for now hopefully this time around I'll post a lil more and be active and not hide in the corner like a creepy guy for six months;)

I assume that growing out of 4kids was probably due to either high school demands or the fact that it was too different from FW. Still, I'm glad you're a loyal fan; feel free to contribute to this board! I'd suggest you watch the latest Nick episode if you don't like this Mikey; it really did wonders on him.

Yeah mainly high school by the time the 2k3 series premiered I was 14 and a freshman so like I said watched the first year or so but gave it up when I was 16 and a junior...... guess driving, sports, and girls etc was more interesting to me at that time.....

Yeah I saw the newest one with leatherhead and it makes mikey seem alot better, I just think there beating up his character really bad.... we all know him as the fun loving party guy that would do "dumb stuff" however he himself was never "dumb" he had the same intelligence as his brothers minus don of course who was always the "smartest"

It doesn't bother me that bad I still love the new mikey just an observation I had.

All of the 2k3 series can be watched online. Watch all 157 episodes, the series is excellent.

Enjoy the 2k3 series, I've got to say I'm envious that you get to watch it for the first time AND also get to watch the new series on Nick come out. It's a great time to be a fan.

Looks like you've had an awesome history with the Turtles. Yeah, I'd say check out the 2K3 series. For the most part, it's pretty good with the exception of Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers. Those two seasons weren't my cup of tea, but you might enjoy them.

still working on the OT I guess when I was a kid I was hit and miss on most episodes..... I bought all of the OT dvds back in may and just got the last one a few weeks ago.... so far I'm on season 3 just finished the ninja sword episode with 20,000 leaks episode to watch next.

I remembered about half of the 30 or so episodes so far... it's just taking me awhile to catch up with them, then I'll finally start on the 2k3 series.... I did watch a few of the fast forward episodes on youtube and I don't know if I like those episodes or not I'll give my final verdict once I get through the 2k3 series.

On a side note what would you guys recommend should I watch the 2k3 series in the order it aired or the order they are suppossed to be in. Speaking about season 5-7 when they aired S6 then S5 backwards?

Why wouldn't you watch the show in proper order? The 2k3 series has a lot of continuity and I don't understand why you would watch it out of order anyway

Ok you have S1-S4 eps 1-104 then they aired the fast forward episodes S6 eps 118-143 then came back with the ninja tribunal eps 105-117 then the final back to the sewer season. So I was going to watch S1-S4 in order but I meant should I then watch fast forward first since that is what technically aired first or should I watch the ninja tribunal episodes first before fast forward then I would watch back to the sewers last...... another side note after the eps wedding bells and bytes what is "Mayhem from mutant island" it appears to air in march of 2010 almost 5 months after the turtles forever movie.

The show is meant to be watched in proper order. If you're new to the series of course you watch it in its intended order. All 7 seasons and then Turtles Forever is the finale.

Thats what I figured... I did read a few threads where ppl said a few more things made sense in the fast forward season after they saw ninja tribunal...didn't know if some fans would recommend to watch it in the order it aired same concept as star wars how they aired eps 4,5,6 then 1,2,3 where most people would recommend to watch 4,5,6 first then 1,2,3.......

Just watch the show in order. Not sure why this is a concern. It's a continuity driven series.
