If indeed Gobo's e-mail is correct we can change the possibility of it being the epic begins. They are also interested in our ideas for special features on the dvd. Here's your chance, post here about what kind of special features you want on the TMNT dvd and it will all be sent in an e-mail one week from today to Gobo's contact in Artisan.
Here are my ideas:
Interviews with the creators on where they got the idea for the technodrome, Krang etc.
Any kind of Promos, commercials, or articles advertising the tmnt's premiere.

Well I think some features on the DVD should have early character sketches perhaps. I think interviews witht he writers would be a good idea deifnately. :D

I think they should have a Documentary on the Turtles. From Begining to Now...that would be cool. Interveiws would also be cool. Also to have like a Documentary on the lives of Kevin and Peter.
Exactly how many DVD's will there be?
Will it go by seasons?

They should be released by the season or something like that. Extra material....there should be interviews with writers, VAs, creators, etc., sketches, TV ads, Turtle Tip segments, etc.

Once again, I get to show my ideas!
I think ALL of us old cartoon fans want to see boxed season sets of the entire series (myself included), so that's a given. But I can't express enough times what I would like to see on the boxes themselves. Each season should have box art reflective to the main premise of that season. Here goes:
- Season 1 = Technodrome outer hull look (for the miniseries)
- Season 2 = Shredder's face (the season involves him alone on Earth)
- Season 3 = Bubbling lava (TD at the Earth's core)
- Season 4 = Dimension X sky (TD in Dimension X)
- Seaosn 5 = Ice (TD in North Pole)
- Season 6 = Underwater (TD at the bottom of the ocean)
- Season 7 = Close-up of outer part of the Colosseum or Tower of Pisa (for the Euro vaction eps)
- Season 8 = City with red night sky (hence the beginning of the red sky eps)
- Season 9 = Space with stars and maybe a few planets (Dregg's from space)
- Season 10 = Dregg's face (conflict between him and the turtles is more personal in this season)
These of course would be for the background images. It goes without saying that on the foreground there will be the cartoon logo and "The Complete Nth Season" on it too. BTW, these box art looks should cover the ENTIRE box: front, back, and spine.
As far as the material on the DVDs, it's already been mentioned that toy ads from the respective year should be included too, but something I just now thought of: why not concurrent storyboard presentations of selected episodes, or at least a section of consisting of storyboards to browse on the disc?
Cool?

i just wanted to say that all your box covers specificaly say tecnodrome. while i like the td, i would rather see different things than just the td on every seasnos box.
i think they should put a game on it. imagine if they could put the first level of the old game on it. that would be awsome.
deleted sceans?? maybee they had deleted sceans.
Secret?? New episodes hidden in the disk. maybee one of this year, or a new one made like they did the old cartoon. they could hide an episode and only we know how to acsess it. just an idea.
i like the idea of commercals. theres my ideas. i hope our ideas are considered

I don't think that interview of writers would be a good idea... It would be like "This is an aniversery episode to us writers, we used "Shredder tries to take over the world for the 100th time!". Maybe interview with David Wise would be good, He is without any doubt the best writer of old cartoon. Also I think Voice actor interviews would be good. About wich epiaoses, Only the first season fits to one DVD, atleast in best quality, so I see no reason for anything else to be released.
Edit: Just read the other thread, that can't be true... I want to see the whole first season on DVD, not the edited version.. If it's going to be that we can probably say good bye to extras to.

There are only two things I want, and they are really quite simple.
1. EACH AND EVERY EPISODE ON DVD. I don't care how they do it. I just want it done. Whether they come out with season boxsets (which will take forever), or they do it all at once, as long as we, the fans, get every episode in the DVD format, I will be happy.
2. Turtle Tips. These are lost gems in the Ninja Turtle's history, and I would like for these to be bonus materials, as well.
As long as I get those two things, anything added to that is a bonus. You can take your writer commentaries, artist sketches, and blah blah blah. But I'm not picky.
I only want those two things.

I would like all the things mentioned above as well as dual language features.
I'd love to watch the Japanese version of the miniseries. If they can't do the entire series with the dual language feature (episodes edited differently or whatever) then they can do foreign language clips like what was done with the Simpsons DVDs.

i like the idea of promos, commercials and stuff like that
toy commercials, the first series of the toys, and what went into making them...
concept sketches for the show, background and bios on each character that was on the show
interview with Peter
INDIVIDUAL EPISODES complete with INTO and OUTRO with the little segments saying "going to a commercial" or something like the TRANSFORMERS DVD's

The official site says Season 7. Your word alone is not proof enough to say otherwise. Just because you claim to have seen the year 1992 on your recording doesn't mean a damn thing. Maybe the printing of 1992 was the boo-boo, not the year listing on the site. Maybe the eps were written in 1992 but just not aired until 1993, and the official site goes by airdates. Come on, that number of episodes CANNOT be written AND animated AND produced in a matter of weeks.
Now do yourself and the rest of the community a favor and STOP BRINGING THAT UP!!!!!!!!!

I don't agree with the boxsets covers ideas, no offense. I like the technodrome, but I would much rather see the tmnt and the different characters on the box, and then maybe the technodrome in a really small corner. If they made it like TOTAL background, then I wouldn't mind, in fact that would be kinda cool, but I'd rather them focus on the characters.
REZ: TAKE A CHILL PILL!!! DK could be right here, I would not go by the list on the main site, because it was crappiily compiled. The episodes do not go in order! I'd much rather have it go by story than by airdates thank you very much.

Oh, caspian and PWDESAI, you've misread my post: I'm not saying the TD itself will be on any of them, just "omni-present" artwork that's reflective of where the TD is at (hey, it is the main thing the Turtles were after) or what the seaon revolves around. Also, not all of them have to do with the TD; seasons 7, 8, 9, and 10 ideas don't have to do with it.
If they came in boxes looking exactly the same with just the turtles and other characters on them, that would be pretty dull. Come on, be IMAGINATIVE for once!

As cool as it would be to have them come up with all of these special features, you have to keep in mind that this is for a TV series that is no longer in production. They might not be able to gather all the info neccesary for the features. Just look at how simplified the DVDs of the trilogy were.

Every single episode and it MUST HAVE EXTRAS. I swear, if all they put is the episodes, it would be disgracefully pointless, heck I would probably start a boycott until they do it right.
Now lets see, commentaries for most of the episodes, all concept art and sketches that hopefully they didn't just throw away, the box art should have a theme if they don't have that shell box idea..but not the way Raz said it, hmmm yes Turtle Tips are a must, ideas and never released episodes, etc. any remnants of the old show..with all this hype about the new show they are bound to throw it out.

Every episode on DVD in box sets (some seasons like seasons 1 and 2 could be bunched together for a better value).
Bonus features:
- Toy adds from each respected season (props to whoever said that first)
- Interview with Peter Laird and possibly Kevin Eastman (not likely on Kevin)
- Interview with David Wise
- Interview with an excutive from Playmates
- Turtle Mania - a documentary on TMNT in the 90's and it's fandom
- Interview's with Cam Clark and the rest of the TMNT's VA's
- Turtle Tips (props to whoever said that first)
- Character Profiles / Analysises
- Alternate voice tracks of Spanish, French, Japanese, etc. and their version of the theme song
- The Japanese OVA (maybe that could be seperate from the box sets)

I will not stop because it is fact. Yes it says the 1993 reason on the official site and I found out recently how they made that error. The European vacation episodes were written in 1990 but only shown in foreign countries such as the UK (which is why all aneuyrm's Euro Vacation ep rips are TMHT.) Then finally in 1993 they aired here in America on the USA Network edited for time which is why they say they're part of the 1993 season and they also aired on YTV some time later or earlier. However, the copyright date does clearly state 1992 which makes it part of that season if you actually want to place it in a season. After personal consideration I have came to the conclusion that it isn't really part of any particular season because it only aired on cable networks that miraciouly got the episodes somehow. Still the copyright says 1992 which means it should be considered in that season if placed in a season. For those of you who think that it should be 1993 because it first aired in the US then then consider this fact, the 1990 season started late in the year and some of the episodes were shown in 1991. Just my thoughts, if there is a European vacation DVD set then it should be seperate from everything or put in season 4 after Plan Six from Outer Space because that's when it was originally written.

I knew it! It never made much sense to me why the writers would announce the Turtles were going overseas after the first episode of Season 4, and then not air those episodes for a couple more seasons.
Now it all makes sense. :)

OK, latest news from Gobo. He has suggested that they make the uncut version of 1st season and a few extras instead of the stupid epic begins. But before we send everyone's ideas, Gobo has decided to extend the deadline another week so we can get even more. Also about the European Vacation episodes, they first aired November 1992 on USA. Eesh... I guess I have to post myself if I don't want my words messed up. I suggested that they work to release the 5 uncut pilot eps with a few simple extras, and release at the same time what they already had planned with exclusive extras. BTW, the Library of Congress can be found at www.loc.gov, Reznorite. The US Copyright office can be found linked on their main page.

Okay so you are talking about just the first DVD. Then I'll be more specific.
To make this DVD wicked awsome it would have to have at least both the English and Japanese versions. Spanish and French would be good as well.
Bonus features:
- Interview with Peter Laird and possibly Kevin Eastman (not likely on Kevin)
- Toy Adds (the first ones)
- Interview with an excutive from Playmates
- Turtle Mania - a documentary on TMNT in the 90's and it's fandom

- Turtle Tips (props to whoever said that first)
- Character Profiles / Analysises
- Theme Songs of TMNT from around the world (UK, Germany, Israel, Mexico, etc.)
Okay so that wasn't much different, but... bah whatever.
