Now that the Nick series is well established, I'm going to make a series of polls regarding your favorite voice actor by character. The problem with behindthevoiceactors.com is that after the Nick cast was added, it did not reset the polls fresh. That said, these polls will be open for only up to a month.

We'll naturally start with Leonardo, the leader of the group. Along with Michelangelo, he has been consistent in terms of having just one voice actor per incarnation, meaning that there are just five voice actors to choose from.

(Oops, I forgot Michael Doboson of TNM, Jason Griffith of Mirage Leo of Turtles Forever, and Dan Green of 1987 Turtles forever.) However, I'll leave it out for this poll since I know they aren't going to receive many votes.

I may like Jason Biggs' rendition of Leonardo, but for some reason, James Arnold Taylor's was way cooler.:tcool:

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, now THIS is a question I have a hard time answering. I don't even think I can. I can narrow it down to Cam & Brian, though.

My favorite is Cam Clarke, he's the first Leonardo I saw speak, Michael Siinterklaas is my second favorite, he sounds a lot like Cam Clarke's.

Every Leo voice was loosely based on Cam Clarke's voice. Seems like he had the definitive Leonardo voice and all others sound similar.

Althought I guess you can say that for all of the OT.

Dan Green's Leonardo sounded different though in Turtles Forever.

I'd say a tie between Jason and Mike S. as my absolute favorites with Cam Clarke getting an honorable mention.

Cam Clarke with Brian Tochi a close second. Those are pretty much the incarnations of the character I grew up with.

Brian effing Tochi. Easy vote for me.

This is a very difficult decision for me. Mainly because no Leonardo voice actor has left any kind impression on me.

So I'm gonna go Tochi, based entirely on this scream at 3:15.

It's all that came to mind.

I always thought the 2007 TMNT Leo sounded too much like Neil Patrick Harris.

Actually the 2007 Leo and Nick's Leo sound very much alike. Almost as if the Leo in Movie 4 is an adult version of the Leo seen in the Nick show.

To be honest though, most TMNT VA's sound similar. Look at all the Movie Raph voices and 2k3 Raph for example. All the Michelangelo's are all loosely based on OT Mike's voice too.

I very much doubt every incarnation of Michelangelo would have that same dialect if it weren't for what the OT made famous.

Although I do think Barry Gordon's Don is the most unique, and arguably the best Don voice.

Cam Clarke for sure, he's the actor who I will always think of, for the voice of Leonardo.

Either Cam Clarke from the first season, before his voice became too high, or James Arnold Taylor. I think they both nailed it. However, I must say, they all did a great job.

Michael Sinterklaas for me.

I had to go with Mike S. from the 4Kids era. Something about his voice just stuck with me, and quite frankly that's my favorite incarnation of the character.

Brian, I think, gave us the best range and the most relatable version.

Cam Clarke never had great material to work with, though. He never quite got the characterization the other Fred-Wolf Turtles did.

Cam Clarke for me, and I even enjoy his current natural voice. If you listened in on the recent podcast via Talkin' Toons, his voice reminds me a bit of Marc Summers! He has the most energy of all Leo VA's, and the first two seasons of the OT have pretty much the textbook example. He may not be the best in terms of emotion towards the Leo, but growing up with him and being an OT fan makes his voice the first to come to mind. Second for me would be Sinterklaas; he has a nice, true voice that sounds serious and arguably is more in character than Clarke is. James Arnold Taylor is good, but we just didn't get much out of him. Brian Tochi may not have the energy of Cam or the trueness of Michael but really knows how a ninja leader feels. Jason Biggs isn't bad and has a good sense of being subtle with Leonardo, but just doesn't excite me as much as the others.

My favorite is Michael S. I think he gives the most life to the character. The emotion he pours into Leo's voice is great! Cam is a close second, I just think he never got the chance to shine as Leo in that show.

Brian Tochi.

Biggs' Leo gets my second favorite though.

If we are talking about JUST the sound of the actor's voice and not the material or characterization of Leonardo, then...
I heavily prefer the OT's Cam Clarke voice, especially during Season 1 & 2, his deep base voice embodied Leonardo's character of being a pillar of strength and reassurance that the other Turtles and April needed.

Brian Tochi and Micheal Sinterklaas voices just came off as whiny at times, and no amount of battle cries can cover that up.

James Arnold Taylor was just unimpressive, it seemed like only his serious tone contributed to the "leadership" quality of Leonardo...that's it.

Jason Biggs voice is okay but it pales in comparison to Cam Clarke's resolute voice. Then again I always considered 2012 TMNT as more or less as "Tweenage" Mutant Ninja Turtles than actual teenagers.
