View Full Version : Is April human?

I know this sounds like a crazy conspiracy thread, but hear me out.
1. Her father is a scientist (first time in TMNT history), and his name in this show is Kirby (also a first in TMNT history).
2. Kirby's crystal is what created her in the Mirage books.
3. She apparently has no mother.
4. The creative team kept hinting about April being special in this series. While I guess they could have been referring to the whole "sensitive to universal vibrations" thing, it seemed like something bigger.
5. I could see this as their excuse to get around the Donatello romance thing.
I'm not saying I want this to be true, but I'm pretty suspicious. I've never heard Ciro say anything about being a fan of the Volume 4 books, but that doesn't mean he's not familiar with that "April is a drawing" storyline.

Are you suggesting she could be something along the same lines as the annoying wee girl from the Transformers: Animated cartoon?
That would be an interesting direction for them to take. Unlikely, but interesting :)

I like this...
However, I do not like the thought that April might be something more or less than Human in the Nick Series. I've always felt it was the fact that she was the normal human that made her place in the Turtles family so special

I think all of these (with the exception of #5... hopefully) are legit arguments for a big twist like that. My only big critique is that the April as Drawing angle was entirely Laird's idea and only appeared in the late Volume 4 comics... arguably one of the most obscure corners in all the TMNT multi-verse.

I doubt the writers of the Nick cartoon ever read the Volume 4 comics. Also they hinted that April will, "grow up to become the strong news reporter woman."
Seems more like they want to be like she was in the OT than anything else.
Kirby could be a lot of things, Eastman might have suggested it to be he fathers name because of the 5th Turtle character he wanted.

Right terrifying... I don't understand why once her parents had died she didn't just vanish... I mean we were told it was their love that kept her from fading, but wouldn't that mean that once they were no longer there to provide that love she would be gone.
Also did Kirby really Love that portal so much that it wouldn't fade away?

Did you watch the 4kids episodes where Don and Kirby travel to an alternate dimensional using a crystal that brought drawings to life?
In Mirage the same crystal was later revealed to be used by April's father to bring her to life, about 20 years before Kirby found it.

I kinda like the idea of April having some special abilities, but she should still be human. Also, just because she doesn't have a mother now doesn't mean she didn't have one when she was little. How do we know Kirby O' Neil isn't a widower?

Yep.
Apparently her father (Mr. O'Neil) used a pen, hence why she didn't vanish sooner or something. Yeah, it's one of those "I can't believe it's not fanfiction!" thing...
I dunno, Nick's Kirby seemed to be a mythology gag because Mirage's Kirby's crystal technically DID give life to her. It would make sense that's the name of her dad. I wouldn't give that much thought on it.
BTW I really didn't mind she was a drawing, but it bugs me that after this April left and went to Alaska. So anticlimatic. :/

He left because he didn't like the idea of people comparing the Nick show with the 4kids series.
I've always gotten the feeling that the people who work at Nick don't like the 4kids series very much. Even Greg Cripes said in an interview that he didn't bother following the, "2000 show" as he put it, because he didn't think it was very good.
Konchadunga
01-08-2013, 11:37 PM
That is rather strange, because this new Mikey is a lot more like the 4Kids than Fred Wolf version, but that might just be the writing.
Overall, I can't say I see the new show displaying a lot of hate for 4Kids. Back when that show was new, people always used to talk about Peter Laird's distaste for the Fred Wolf show, but this series isn't going out of its way to feel different from its predecessor in the way the 4Kids show did. The new April looks more like 4Kids; same with Shredder, and Nick's Leatherhead is, in my opinion, too similar to his 4Kids counterpart, to the point the episode was predictable.
So if the creators here are ignoring 4Kids' version, they sure have substantial knowledge of Mirage's.

Haven't watched the show but maybe she was a turtle that mutated into a normal human and has been eating those cookies from the old cartoon to maintain a stable mutation, but isn't told about it just fed the chemical in her food.
One day it wears off and she is the stay at home mom for the turtles after a lengthy mental treatment after finding out she has been a semi-mutated turtle the whole time.

Strangely this is nowhere near as crazy as April turning out to be a drawing created by a magic crystal which all evidence pointed to things created by disappearing, being outfoxed by the usage of permanent ink and love...

My non scientific prediction
Splinter trains April. Kirby exploited by the shredder and the foot makes significant headway on the mutagen ooze. April and co attempt to rescue her father. And something happens to him, probably mutation possibly death. This drives April in her training as she is accepted as family instead of as a friend. Teenage hormones propel the love arc with Donnie. Little did she know that before her fathers death he squirreled away a sample of refined ooze before tainting every other batch and destroying his notes and formula. April comes into contact and is given some sort of power. Probably not detectable physically, but more of an enhancement. The love story will deepen and conflict of love and family is tested. If her father was mutated he will be lured to the dark side but will stay in the half shell while April and fam try to rescue him and reverse the effects. He will die shortly after at the hands of April, his beloved daughter. This will weigh on her heavily as she has been being tormented in her mind from her own mutation. Her grief will guide her to not only killing the shredder, but also replacing him. She will grow to despise all mutations. And seek their destruction.

Depends. Is Ciro a Mirage fan?
But at least Renet and Nobody appeared outside the comics. I'm not holding out hope for Gabrielle and Shadow.
Yeah, he said he was. They pretty much copied the rooftop fight from the first issue in the Gauntlet, and they used Letherhead's Mirage origin. We already got the Purple Dragons, and we are getting Karai soon. Plus they hinted that the Fugitoid might show up next year.

You said the same thing about Jagwar and Dreadmon from the Archie comics, and to be honest it's kind of a narrowminded thing to say in my humble opinion. Hell, you want so badly for Armaggon to appear, but he's even more obscure than them! While we're on the subject, didn't an obscure character from the original cartoon recently have a cameo on the new show as a mutant? Ciro and the folks at Nickelodeon can do whatever the hell they want with the property. They can use any character they like from any iteration. They're the ones who decide who will or won't show up, not us!

Fortunately Nick TMNT is not a popularity contest. And their target demographic doesn't know any TMNT characters anyway.
It's possible that April isn't completely human. She already is 'special' because of her animal mind reading, but there may be more of an explanation to that ability such as exposure to the mutagen via her father. And who's to say her father is human? Maybe there is a reason the kraang are after these particular scientists. Pure speculation at this point.

if April and her fathers are not humans then what will they be? Sure they are not Kraang or else we would have know it already. April has benn human in 87 2003 and IDW comic. It was only the Mirrage that she was not human and that was revealed after so many years. Just like Shredder was human in evry version of TMNT but not in 2003 cartoon

I'd say Metalhead is even more obscure. I mean, sure the idea of a robot turtle isn't all that new... but rather than make their own version of a CyberTurtle or Turtledroid or what-have-you like 2K3 did with TurtleBot, they went back with the 80's design and character of Metalhead.
I kinda wouldn't call Leatherhead obscure in the same vein. I think most of us were kinda waiting around to see when he would appear.

If April isn't human, unless it's written like...unbelievably well, I'm not sure if I'd want to continue watching. Nick's April is already testing my patience with her age/'special' abilities/rude attitude/ninja training/one-sides crush with Don, that if they threw something else at her to make her uberomgawesome! it might just be the last straw for me. I've always loved April, but I personally watch TMNT for, you know, the Turtles. Not their sidekicks that take over.

I don't disagree that females often get the short end of the stick in television, but as a female myself, I don't like the stereotype that girls have to be physically tough in order to be on par with the guys. I've always preferred April as the more motherly role because she brings in that element of a maternal love and guidance that Splinter can't always give which IS just as important as anything else but seems to be ignored because it's not...I don't know, cool enough?. It seems like this April is given a lot of external traits (fighting ability, telepathy) and not a whole lot of internal development, just the fact that she's...um, head strong? Stubborn? Annoying? Yeah, just like every other 'feisty non-stereotypical' girl' on tv for tweens/teens nowadays. But I do agree its nice seeing Donnie and Mikey being used to explore those other very important traits which are sometimes ignored as well. But getting in touch with feelings doesn't have to be only about 'romance' or a 'girly' thing, so its frustrating that/s what April (and Don) is associated with.
Citizen Krang
01-10-2013, 07:24 PM
When I said feelings I was thinking more along the lines of mikey and his feelings wether it be to find a friend (with the cat et al) or with his emotions in dealing with leatherhead.
In the nick verse however, she can't be the stereotypical mother figure, because she's the same age. And I don't think they have made her butch in any sense of the word, stereotypically or ironically. She balances the one sided relationship by being blind to Donnie's feelings. Once she becomes aware of his intentions things will change and will need to be addressed. I don't think this is too much different than how raph felt towards April in the movie, I would have liked to see the tension between Casey and raph played out a bit more as well.
But I rather see her be headstrong than reliant.

eh April does have to be kinda tough to make it on an action show. Think of all the kids wanting to play TMNT and the girl being forced to play as April and being forced to be the one needed rescuing. At least now the girl can pretend to kick ass with the rest of the boys.

What is this "fighting ability" you speak of? So far the closest April has done to effective combat is knocked out a distracted guy by kicking open a car door into him. That hardly qualifies her as being a Mary Sue; I'm sure she'll get tougher but she'll have to work at it, and while it's true she hasn't gotten many "internal" traits, I can't say anyone else has, either. There isn't a narrow enough focus for much character development so far.
You say that as a female, you resent the notion that every display of female competence has to be in the form of "toughness," but understand we're dealing with an action cartoon aimed at young boys, here. If a character can't do some clobbering, they don't want to watch that character for a long time, and certainly won't buy a toy of her (which, if she can't fight, might as well be a doll); April needs to get tough or get out.
Personally, I like the idea of giving her a sort of cognitive gift because it actually allows her to hold her own while remaining human. It wouldn't be right to let her deck a superpowered mutant the way one of the Turtles could, but she could at least evade its attacks while the Turtles counterattack.

I don't remember the show saying she has telepathy. April doesn't act like she's a mind reader. She only has a stronger sense of instinct/female intuition, which could be very useful as a martial artist.
I'm also annoyed with the Mary Sue brand with April, since so far she hasn't hijacked the plot/single handedly rescue Splinter and the Turtles/is so beautiful and intelligent the world bows to her greatness. She shouldn't be called one at all.
As for her geared as a teenage ninja. Let her. If Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender can become a competent swordsman for one episode, I don't see why April should not either.

it's more then instinct or female intuition. Splinter got the same deal, only for April it flows naturally apparently.
It's not Telepathy either. More like she's an Empath of the more supernatural kind, since she is tuned to the Universe.

Well, a lot of the characters have something that would give them an edge in combat over normal people, but with many of them it's the same something; namely mutant powers and martial arts. Past that, it's just a matter of degree; Leatherhead and Dogpound are stronger than most other mutants just like Splinter and Shredder are more skilled than most other martial artists.
In that sense, April is the only one who's "special," and it's unfortunate for her that her special ability is somewhat the same as Venus's, but the difference in how they're handled is enormous.

Just keep Donatello the hell away from her. Though super ballsy twist if it's either permament, or lasts half a season. Like after they rescue her father, she gets mutated, their new goal is to find a way to change April back. Bonus points if Splinter also wishes he could do the same.

Actually making April a Turtle -- in this show, in this universe -- might be a neat, ballsy twist.
Ballsy, yes--in a sense. Neat, debatable.
One big consistency I see to this franchise's divisive fanbase is that they're a finicky lot. First the Mirage fans are mad there's a cartoon dumbing down the universe, then that cartoon's fans are mad the next cartoon for having little in common with it, then that cartoon's fans get mad at the retools it got, etc, but beyond that, there are actually controversial moves that get a lot of people in different segments of the fandom united in hatred, like creating Venus, making Shredder an Utrom, making April a drawing, and most infamously as of late, making the Turtles aliens in the new movie. Nick's April already got substantial skepticism from being a teenager; doing something "ballsy" at this point probably isn't a good idea.
Yeah; a lot of complaints are overblown. Aside from the "teen April," I share the disdain for all the other twists I listed up there, but I think the objections to the Turtles having three toes were utterly ridiculous. Still, aside from being ballsy, what would making a April a turtle actually add to the plot of this series? My opinion, based on the past, is nothing really good. Since she could suddenly be more useful in a fight and conversely, not walk freely on the surface anymore, she'd just stay with the guys all the time and likely dominate most plots; I'm not saying she'd be as obnoxious as Venus or Cody, but why does there need to be a fifth (or sixth, if you count Splinter) teammate to dominate stories, when the given team dynamic already works fine in most situations?

I dunno, I am intrigued by the idea of April having some latent supernatural abilities. There was at least the hint of that in the Archie TMNTA issues, assuming you hold the May East Saga as canon... which Steve Murphy himself probably didn't.
But it's not important to me whether April is "normal," so much as how the creative minds decide to explain and develop the abilities she may possess. In short, it's all about the execution.

If she's got some unusual traits about her, that wouldn't be a problem... I trust the writers will create a great story, whether if she's a hybrid, or a refugee child from another universe..we've seen their talents over and over this season.
What I"m talking about is what happened with the Sumdac girl from Transformers: Animated. After living with her father for so many years, she had NO clue about anything strange about herself. She acted like any other human kid...
Suddenly, she's told she's engineered from transformer technology, and suddenly she's MORE advanced than any of the original robots, she's better at Everything from fighting to having psychic knowledge about mechanical repairs. And she was only a bot for a short time, compared to Over a hundred years with all the other robots.
She turned into a Super-Mega Mary-Sue character - and she lost her relate-ability. I don't wanna see that happen with April. Anyone remember the "April is a Drawing" reactions from the Mirage comics?
Splinter noticed April's mental acuity on his own, and wanted to provide her the means to protect herself. My thing is, I don't want her to suddenly out-ninja four brothers who have been trained their entire Lives from day one to be warriors. Are we to suddenly see her have a psychic connection with the Kraang, and can understand what they're saying? Or could she pull a 'V' and be some hybrid child that suddenly pops up out of nowhere and saves the world in some ridiculous way...

I really don't get all of the fear about April being a Mary-Sue. I mean; I guess there's always a risk, but so far they've avoided it at every turn. Eventually becoming a good fighter doesn't make someone a Mary-Sue; it just makes them a Badass-Normal; that's not excessive in this context, but rather a necessity for survival. More in-line with what a Mary-Sue is is being the center of attention, and there April doesn't qualify at all. Most episodes, she is barely in; if anything, I wish she got a bit more attention; not to make her the "star," but just to let the Turtles focus on solving a big issue and building suspense.

I think there is something about her DNA that intrigues the Kraang, and that's why they want her. Maybe they want to see if the mutagen affects her differently than others because of it, or because she's not human. I can't wait to see where this goes. I have faith in the writers thus far.

This logic is actually very very strong in my opinion, Craig. To me, any hardcore fan of the Mirage series (which Ciro clearly is) would have at least read the other volumes. And regardless of whether or not you are a fan of the concept, the issue that explains from April's point of view how she came into existence is some of Peter Laird's best writing; it is almost like an illustrated novel and makes attempts to be literary with its reference to Franz Kafka.
It would in some ways justify the Donatello/April romance I suppose, but I highly doubt that they are going to have Casey show up and yet not have him be April's love interest. Not only that, but I have a strong feeling Irma Langenstein will show up at some point and will be interested in Donatello, the way she was in the old cartoon.

April is not going to be a robot, they're not going to change the turtles human friend into a machine.
Her being part alien (Neutrino?) or possibly being a drawing by Kirby makes more sense.
That Neutrino idea is cool! OT krang hated the Neutrino's Maybe the kraang hate them as well!:D

April being the Fugitoid wouldn't make sense, because the point of the Fugitoid is that he knows; he has knowledge that the villains want to utilize; hence an amnesiac Fugitoid would make little sense. Also, if April is the Fugitoid, then who is Kirby?

I am a big fan of April's origin as explained in Volume 4. I'm not a fan of there having been no real follow through or long-term plan with it, though...
I was actually telling someone last night that April's Mirage origin is way too easy to ignore.

About her being a drawing... I mean, storywise (or actually universewise) it'd make sense but... yeah let's not go there.
Her being part (or even full) neutrino would be kind of neat. Especially if they go with IDW's fugitoid idea where he was originally a neutrino; after his mind was transferred into the robot body, he escaped with his baby daughter to a safe place, or maybe somewhere he knew the krang were up to no good so he could try to stop them.
After so many parallelisms between the two universes, I really think this could be it... though I've been wrong in the past, so who knows.
then who is Kirby?
A cleverly disguised alien turtle.

If April is indeed half Neutrino, it could mean she's capable of living in both Earth and Dimension X. Not only that but if the Neutrinos are enemies of the Kraang then they could use her as a bargaining chip of sorts.

So far, April's "gift" seems mostly manifested in the form of heightened reflexes, and that's fine by me; an ample compensation in a fight for not having the mutant muscle, shells, etc of other characters, while still having little chance of letting her show up the turtles in terms of actually defeating foes. As I said earlier, the thrill of April is that you know she's fragile; hence her life's more on the line in fights than the turtles, and she can't exactly get in the fray like they do, but instead her action scenes have a nice horror-movie vibe.
My question is if April isn't human, how can Splinter not sense she isn't.
Since they have stated that he also can sense based on spiritual feelings like April, just took him a long time.

Sari was a shell of a lot less annoying than the human villains of that show, and at least she wasn't banging the robots to power them up, unlike some other young female sidekicks. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZvUg2c649Y)
The bit with April being a drawing...had I read the Mirage series up to that point, I probably would have disliked it there, mostly for the reason most people did; because it felt like a pointless twist more than anything else. However, maybe if they establish that from the beginning here, as a way to give April some unique abilities, then I might warm up to it a little. The real question, though, is why exactly being a drawing would give somebody a sixth sense of sorts. Also, if that's April's explanation, what is Splinter's?

He is a buddhiest, spending all of their time meditating trying to connect with the energy flow of the univers and obtain the mental clarity of nirvana is what buddhiest does. or we cen put it in other words, he is playing around with "Zen" energies, trying to tap into the flow of the univers, which is the zen energy.. which is kind of the same thing, which is a real buddhiest term used in real martial arts teachings.
The gift of letting go of all pretenses and see the univers for what it is, not what you think it is.
Which would mean, yeah if Splinter stood in front of the monkey, he should be able to see him for the person he actually is, not the monkey most people would assume he is. That is the highest level of budhiesm, zen mastery, you can get.
And he pretty much said it himself in the show. "Yeeeaaars of training." meaning.. a lot of time sitting around meditating..

If April isn't going to be a basic human with an interesting DNA twist thanks to Kirby (which is where I would draw the line) then maybe she is Neutrino of some sort of notable family tree.

Well, there's one problem with that theory, assuming the Neutrinos occupy the same niche here as they do in the OT and IDW series--the Kraang wouldn't need to come to Earth to get to that type of specimen; they could find plenty in Dimension X.

I can only deduce that April is:
1. An alien origin, maybe a Neutrino.
2. A hybrid of human/alien. Maybe her father experimented on her, or maybe he mated with an alien.
drgon78

Well her father is a psychologist so I doubt he experimented on her.
Well she is...
1)Half Alien/Half human:D
2)Alien:D
3)Mutant Human:)
4)Android :x
5)A drawing:roll:
I seems reasonable to assume now that April is part Neutrino on her mother's side and her dad is human. April's mother may have escaped Dimension X for earth and The Kraang came to Earth to find her, though they may have captured her, she managed to have a child before hand in April.
I recall that Neutrino childern had powers based on the "Four Turtles and a Baby" episode from the original series, so it's possibly that or the fact that Neutrinos live in Dimension X; they can breathe the air and aren't affected by its water supply.
Either April is the last Neutrino that remains or The Kraang plan to use her DNA as a way to destroy all Neutrino life in Dimension X.

We don't even know if Neutrinos actually exist in this incarnation but I hope they do and I would like April to be part Neutrino.
Well lets see the turtles are 15 years old and were mutated about that long ago and April is 16. So lets see the krang came to earth at least 15 years ago since they brought the mutagen that mutated the turtles. Could it be they found earth because of April's mother and that she met April's father and they fell in love, she had April, then died(more then likely because of the Krang), maybe never telling April's father of her alien origin.

I'm hoping for her being a Mutant Human that her mother made as we have learn that her father is not that type of scientists . As Kirby has told us the Mutagen does not work like it does in Dimension X. So when they first got here they look for some one to fix it(aka April's mother). We now at the very list the Kraang have been on earth for 15 years but we dont now if that was when they first got here.
I dont really like the idea of her being half Neutrino. Do to two reason. 1. April looks to normal for that to me. I now the Netrino looks very much like normal people but still there should be some thing. 2. I dont feel like this work into the story from what we have seen.

If the Neutrinos do exist in this version of the series, we do not know what they look like, so April could still be part Neutrino. It would make sense that she is half alien because the krang water didn't effect her and she seems to have some psychic ability. Did anyone else notice the scene in the last episode when she was on the bike and closed her eyes and got past the truck. Though she could still be a mutant human, the idea of any of her parents experimenting on her or creating her in a lab is lame. But I would hate it if she is a android, a clone, or one of the krang.

/\ Well that what I dont like about her being part Neutrinos. They will have to look 90% human for it to work but so far ever thing from Dimension X looks very alien. I will find it weird for a human like race to be there. More so with all there air and water being so bad for the people of earth.
I will not count her being empath as a psychic powers do to it being some thing you can work to get.

I think I got this thing pretty well predicted now just from the show and some of the hints in interviews. I agree on the whole shes a half Neutrino idea. I got a feeling she's the missing link in the Mutagen and getting the desired results the Kraang wants. I'm sure we find out all this in the finale. My bet we end the season with the Turtles taking a playbook from the 80's and have Don reverse the portal to Demension X and send all the kraang and there base back back. Although things dont go well Kirby gets mutated by new a complete Mutagen into Mutagen Man and April gets sucked into the portal. Mutagen Man blames the boys for his loss and now constant torment.
Next season April while stuck in Dimension X escapes the Kraang meets her people and mother and learns how to control her mythical Zen power saves Leatherhead and goes back home probably with help from Don. Donnie after the 80's toon team up forgets his crush on his April and focuses on 80's April because well lets face what teenage boy wouldn't be infatuated. This is just my theory and speculation.
I wonder if Mikey will have his crush on Kala again. Then, we'll find out that Kala is April's half-sister... or maybe even her mom. :teek:

When did this love for the neutrinos start?
Despite Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension-X being one of the series best episodes (as where all season one eps) and the fact that their later appearances here and there meant we were getting a better glimpse at Dimension-X which was welcome as we didn't see much of it in the early seasons the characters themselves I mostly disliked.
Up until recently I've yet to meet an old toon fan that liked them. When they were first referenced in the IDW series I hoped they'd be significantly different I'd hope if they do exist in this show they are used sparingly.
I may be in the minority but I'd prefer the Vol.4 April origin. If the Kraang are trying to bridge or change dimensions then what better way than to experiment on a person/being created by a device (in this case the warp crystal) that did both naturaly.

To be honest, I agree with you on the Neutrinos from the OT. I thought they were ok as a kid (in a "they talk funny lol" sort of way - that and they had an awesome car), but they are one of the aspects of the show that wore very thin as I got older.
That being said, I'd love to see the Nick team tackle them. While there's still the possibility I won't like them, so far I think they've done a great job bringing back old characters and fitting them into this universe, so I'd like to see them try, and April being part Neutrino would be a new twist.
So yeah, I do like that theory, and I think there's a lot of merit to it, but I also wouldn't be upset if she was "special" in some other way. As long as it's written well, I'll enjoy it either way.

I think that ,along with most people on this thread, April's half Neutrino.
But I also think that
1.Her mom was takken by the Kraang.
2.her grandfather is Fugitoid (on here mom's side)
3.Her mom is Kala (cause she's the only red head girl neutrino)
4.Her grandpa injected her with the prime serum in order to keep it from the Kraang (the prime serum is the life blood of Kraang Prime)
5.Kala is mad and leaves Dx forever, then when she is takken back is saved by the last 2 non robot neutrino's Zakk and Dausk.
6.The three become a team seeking way out of Dimension X before it's destroyed.

She's probably part-human, part-Neutrino:
*She was able to touch Kraang-water without getting hurt.
*She has telepathic and telekinetic abilities, which the Kraang were trying to give to Earth beings through Falco.
*She's able to breath Earth air, while the Kraang are shown breathing it only for moments.
So, technically, she's only part human. Her father is human, so her mother must be Neutrino.

Probably has to do with the fact that I quite liked a lot of their episodes they were in. The Season 1, 3, 4 and 7 Neutrino episodes were some of my favorites.
I always liked the Neutrinos and still do...:tcouch:

Same here. I especially liked the Mikey/Kala thing in the OT. It was kind of sweet, and made the Turtles more relatable since it showed they had normal "human" feelings, too!

Yes...I also loved Mikey/Kala. He was so adorable when he would see her, stumbling over his words and getting all flustered. Some of my favorite OT episodes are ones with the Neutrinos in them.

I remember that. I love how in the IDW comics they all so gave Mikey a crush on the Neutrinos Princess Trib.
That is sort of the reason why I hope April is not part Neutrino or any half alien as that is sort of what Mikey girlfriends are. At lest I think ever girlfriend or crush is a alien.I now he had eggs with Seri, an alien princess of a saurian race.

I liked the Mikey/Kala thing as well and it fits better in the new series that Mikey would fall for a full blooded alien or an alien would fall for him. I still like the idea of April being half alien which has nothing to do with mikey's likes/dislikes since it is Don that likes her not mikey.

Now hear me out for a minute, what if April isn't from dimension X but is from a alternate universe of TMNT! Dimension X is merely the center of all the other alternate universes like the 2k3 series and the OT, and the reason why she effected wasn't by the Kraang water was that in her original altered universe, laws of physics or whatever are different.

That's an interesting theory, and I really like it. It has been stated that in season 2 the nick turtles will meet the OT Turtles, (http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2013/04/03/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-animated-series/2048617/)and having dimension X being like a gateway of sorts and nick April being from an alternate dimension, perhaps the dimension the OT turtles are from, seems like a great way to intertwine the two together.
I also seem to recall (but I don't know from where and I don't have a source, so please don't quote me on this:shifty:) that Ciro said that this April was design to like the OT April as a teenager.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the thinking that April is at least part Neutrino. Here are the possibilities in my mind...
-She's Kala's daughter. The most likely scenario I think, and I suspect Kala would still be alive in Dimension X.
-She's Princess Trib's daughter.
-She IS the Princess, and Kirby is the Fugitoid in disguise! Though this would mean Neutrinos don't look any different than humans, and I'd like to see them keep their unique look.
In any of these situations, I could still see Kirby being the Fugitoid, at one time being her actual father or not, and he's been hiding her from the Kraang all these years. Or maybe I've been reading too much IDW comics...

I don't know, the shape of April's eyes do seem a little different along with some other facial features so I can see her being only part human. We do not know what Neutrino's look like in this series if they do exist in this incarnation anyway. I just hope these questions do get answered by the end of this season.

I just think she was kidnapped by the Kraang as a baby, and they tried to run some mutagen tests on her, but failed and lost her.

this is really an interesting developement with april in my oppinion...especially with her origin story in the original comics revealed to be so strange and weird(I LOVE that concept!)....
many of your ideas here sound really exciting, too I think...
I have noticed that this show in particular really brings forward a great many topics that are being pushed to be disclosed in the very interesting citizens hearing on disclosure which happened in may 2013 at the national press club in washington(check it out on youtube for this)...for instance interstellar beings engaging our reality, the fact that our reality is merely one of many which are existing next to one another...the kraang scout craft, the way it looks, it flies, its sacnning device...animal mutilations from these beings in order to study their creations(I think)(I am talking about 'alien agenda' tmnt wise), the underwater kraangbase etc etc etc...
and now april seems to be special in the kraangs doing..she also posseses special telekinetic powers(dr steven greer in the disclosure project also explains how 'mind' is the final frontier and not 'space'..as to make contact with et happens through conscience...(meditation))
....I dont know where this leads but I am eager to find out!
