Browsing the $5 DVD bin at walmart today,I came across a bunch of the TMNT 87 series DVDs.
Saw Vol 2,3,4
If anyone is looking to finish their collection or looking to start and has a walmart near them,$5 is a great price.

Edit. Popped in to Best Buy today and in the $4.99 DVD bin and in the kids film bin, I saw TMNT 87 Season 1 for $4.99

Now that the Turtle Van set is out they're trying to get rid of all the single sets.

That was probably there years ago.

Not necessarily, Not everybody wants to buy pricey collector editions. Maybe it's just the fact that they're Dvd's and even blue rays are going down in price nowadays.

As new formats get released and grow in popularity, it forces the demand of older formats to get reduced. Trust me, DVD is depreciating in value like the VHS did; while it will take a while before people upgrade to streaming online (after the Party Wagon stops its printing, I'm sure the DVD will be reduced to a few master copies, as cloud streaming is the future/present. More and more new TVs are connected to the Internet, and cloud storage is becoming more efficient. But if you can find them all for $65 if you purchase any season, you're not doing too badly. These disks may turn up cheaper at yard sales now that most releases are at least a few years old. I even see Fraggle Rock in there (please release Muppet Babies on DVD if you can!)

I really hate that we're getting further and further away from using discs. I prefer having a hard copy of everything.

Getting back on the subject, perhaps they plan on repackaging the seasons. They could do the first two on a double-sided disc along with a couple of other seasons and save on expences.

No, Walmart does this all the time with old DVDs, hell they've been doing this for almost a decade now and these DVDs are just the type of things Walmart puts in the bargain bin. DVDs cost pennies to make as do BR's the price increase is artificial and the digital future is true, BR is likely the last physical format, it'll last ten more years maybe but it doesn't mean it won't be the last non-niche physical format. For people who love physical formats they'll always exist in one form or another it just won't be as mainstream.

Why can't the bins at my Wal-mart have them in it, bah. This'd be a great way for me to finish getting the show.

I think it's going to be like CDs. While downloading music is the most popular way to go about it, physical copies are still around.

It bugs me with books and comics more than it does movies. I'd hate reading on a screen all the time.

Its also smart to do it because kids are all about Ninja Turtles again these days and at just five dollars these will probably be bought by parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles for the children in their lives because they don't know any better. Plus there are some kids who are going to be so hungry for Ninja Turtles that they will buy anything with them involved.
