Anyone find it interesting that those two are the only two turtles without VA replacements in the OT?
Don's alternate voice did at least 10 different Season 3 episodes, and Raph's first alternate did two Season 3 eps, and then the 13 Euro Vacation episodes. Then the Season 10 Raph voice for the final 8 episodes was new as well.
On that note, its kinda sad how Rob Paulsen voiced his Turtle for 23 episodes less than all the others did. Can you believe that OT Raph wasn't voiced by Rob Paulsen for 23 episodes? It just so happened that they were all close together (the Euro eps, then the Season 10 eps), that we didn't notice it throughout the show.

Barry Gordon wasn't absent from the show that many times, dude. Rob Paulsen's absence in the final season was a little depressing to watch when I got around to watching those episodes.

What's interesting to me about it is Leo and Mikey were the same two to retain their VA's in the movie trilogy, too.

Hey yea, you're right. Also when you think about it Corey Feldman only got replaced in Secret of the Ooze, wheras Raphael had a different voice actor in every movie.

I believe it was close to 7-10 episodes with Don's alternate voice.
Quite a number of mid-Season 3 eps, plus the Euro vacation ep, "Ring of Fire" had that alternate Don voice.

It was 6, plus Ring of Fire.

If Nick ever gets the rights to the OT and does new releases on DVD, I almost wish Rob Paulsen could dub in his voice for the Euro eps and Season 10. Not that I ever expect this to happen...but it would be a dream.

Not only Leonardo and Michelangelo, but April (Renae Jacobs) never had a VA replacement either. Yes she may have been a secondary character, but she had speaking parts in almost every episode (...or every episode?)

There were at least two episodes April wasn't in. Both were in Season 7 I believe.

During the Vacation episodes Raph sounded like Bob Hope or Johnny Carson.

I know she wasn't in "Legend of Koji", but I can't remember what the other episode was that she didn't appear in.

Was she in Merdude's episode?

Nope. She also wasn't in Turtle Trek, the Season 8 finale. And calling her "secondary" is hardly that; if anything OT April appears more than Nick April has! There were also no replacements for Irma (Jennifer Darling) who appeared in over 90 episodes.
Anyways, when episode 24 of Nick airs this spring, Rob Paulsen will pass Townsend Coleman and Cam Clarke for voicing in the most TMNT episodes all-time.

Barry Gordon only missed seven recordings. I have wondered if it had anything to do with him becoming the Screen Actors Guild President around 1989. If starting those duties attributed to his absences. He could have just been really sick and not waited on as was the case with Peter Renaday for a few voice over recordings, but the timing of it makes me wonder.

Why was Raph replaced for all of the Euro eps?
It just doesn't make sense to me as that's an entire 13-ep segment, as if it was a season in itself. Those had to have been recorded around the time most Season 4 or Season 5 eps were, and Rob Paulsen voiced Raphael in all of those episodes.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but i actually never noticed that. However, when i think about it, i do not remember any VA replacement for Leo and Mikey, and not for Donatello neither to be frankly honest. :ohwell:

I did think of that a couple times and wondered what it would be like if they did have different voices. I guess I found that out in Turtles Forever.

You know another interesting thought occured to me. Cam Clarke was almost cast as Michaelangelo and Townsend Coleman was almost cast as Leonardo, ergo even if that had happened, the same two turtles would've still gone through the entire series without ever needing a substitute or replacement voice actor.
