View Full Version : Should Spiderbitez become an ally?

I was just thinking about how stupid it is that Spiderbitez became a villain. He was basically some normal 50 year old guy living at home watching TV, his only beef with the Turtles was that his phone got destroyed in the middle of battling the Kraang.

Aside from being at odds with Raphael, there really is no real reason for him to be a villain. Its not like he was a bad guy or criminal already like Snake, Chris Bradford or Xever....he was just some 50 year old retired fat guy living in NYC.

Instead of Spiderbitez being a boring and generic villain, I hope he becomes an ally of sorts. I really can't see any further potential of him as a bad guy as it is.

As a human, let's not forget that Spiderbitez was corrupt in that he wanted to sell the footage of the turtles for money. I believe this was the writers way of showing that there is darkness and greed in his heart, as well as a way of hinting to his eventual transformation.

He was just an asshole, assholes don't need much to be villains. They're just inherently "evil". No harm in that.
It's much easier to believe he'd take his negative persona to the next step as opposed to him letting a bunch of weirdos help him see the light.

I am 99.99% sure the only time we will ever see Spiderbitez again is in a filler episode, just like Turtle Temper was. And he'll probably have some stupid plan to kill the turtles.

I don't think he'll be an ally to the Turtles at all. He was too greedy and wanted to expose them in order to get cash. I doubt they would want him to fight on their side, and even if he does, it'll be more like it was in 2K3 when the Turtles had to team up with Karai and Bishop.

I would rather see him kept as a villian.

To be honest I thought he was stupid all around, like the garbage villain from the 2k3 series. I hope he doesn't show up again, villain or not. Filler episodes for the lose.

They spent too much on character models to only be used once.

A filler episode with a filler villain that just created an extra mutant just for the sake of adding more mutants.

And of all the ways you or I might imagine what a human-spider mutant might look like... this is what they came up with? He looks like a goombah mixed with a retarded scorpion or something.

If he comes back I think his motivations will again be greed. Maybe he'll be robbing banks or something. I was going to say that he would come back in a I want to be returned to normal sort of way, but I think he probably likes the power that comes with his mutation. Even if it means losing what he had before

I kinda wanna see Spider-Bytes come back just so we can get a possible Spider-Man reference thrown in.

Agreed. At least all the old mutants from the 90's looked cool, no matter how you felt about their characters.

There's a reason why all those old mutants created for the OT/Archie are still memorable to this day.

hearing lewis black voice a cartoon villain was cool, but my lingering question was where in the eff was he running off to?

Which would just be utter nonsense. Where would he spend such money, as a giant mutant goombah? Could he walk into a bank, sit down, open an account and invest it all?

It would honestly be funny if he did rob a bank and then have Don (or really... anyone) ask him exactly what you said, and watch him drop the money and freak out.

I don't know... maybe later the Kraang can enlist Snakeweed, Spider Bytes and other random filler mutant villians they're bound to come up with for some kind of mutant army against the Turtles.

He would probably be a salvageable mutant character, if they would make him to resemble more of an actual spider rather than a head with limbs, tell us his mutation wasn't yet complete in that one episode or something. It's not too late!

The motivation could be as always "Because of you four reptiles I turned into this monster blah,blah,blah"...

And then he joins shredder's club.

I do have a feeling all of this surplus of unaccounted for bad guy mutants is eventually going somewhere (and if not, what are they doing?)... I'm imaging some kind of TMNT Bad Guy version of this:

I dunno if you've ever watched Cartoon Network's Teen Titans back in the day, but that's exactly what happened later in that series, and seeing as how big an influence Teen Titans is to this incarnation of the TMNT, I'm betting that's exactly what's going to happen down the line.

I'm actually in the middle of rewatching the entire series on my DVD collection (it was pretty short lived), and I can see some other subtle cues they took. For instance in Teen Titans you see them hanging out a lot more than you'd see the Justice League doing.

I think he is an ok bad guy. Better than a mutated weed or a mutated pigeon. I don't see him returning as a freind to the turtles. It would be cool if he came back for revenge with an army of blackwidow spiders. And I don't know about it being a filler episode. Its was episode 2? We learn about Raphael's temper problem, the fight seen with Raph in the back of the krang van was cool and we get history on splinter and shredder. Plus the kids probably thought a spider mutant was pretty freaky and then forgot all about him.:tgrin:

I never understood why people don't like speculation threads about a TV show. This is what ALL FANDOMS do inbetween new episodes.

What are we supposed to do here, sit around and twiddle our thumbs?

Exactly. Let's shut down this forum until we either get new eps in February... or the next issue of the IDW comics out. In the meantime, let's shut everything down!

It reminds me of something from AHH! Real Monsters.

I haven't watched the new show but it is rather anti-climatic when the villains turn out to be buddies, it's kind of over done I think there always need to be some baddies that are bad for no reason other than they like it.

You do know there's an entire section of the forum devoted to fan art, fan fiction, fan films and other fan made material, right? Most creative people here like to put their ideas and skills to good use, not just yap about the official canon.

Every fandom speculates what might happen in upcoming TV shows, movies, video games, etc.

This is not a new concept, people.

Every fandom speculates what might happen in upcoming TV shows, movies, video games, etc.

But if that's all you do with the fandom, it becomes boring. It's more fun to do your own thing with the characters, not just wait and see what television writers and movie producers come up with.

well there is the small factoid that ciro nieli also produced teen titans...

and i find it hilarious that there are people who can't fathom that spider-bytez might use money, but can totally buy into, well...spider-bytez...and four mutated turtles...and a ninjutsu trained rat...and kraang aliens........

I think Spiderbytez should just get killed off (by another villain, of course!) He has no endearing qualities that make the viewer want them to go good, unlike Ninjara.

Spiderbitez doesn't even have his own action figure (let's not forget the BTTS proposal) and its difficult for a teenager to be a friend to an old fuddy duddy. Though he will appear later in the series, he didn't have a good impression with Raph, even as Vic. It would be like the gun-toting Granny from the 1987 series becoming an ally.
