This topic belongs in the movie section, but clearly #1 and #2 will always be the classics that will be remembered the most fondly. They are the only two movies to contain Shredder, take place predominantly in the city, and have the best soundtracks. The costumes (Turtles and Splinter) also look better than III's cheaply made, and 2007's won't age well with the Nick show.

dialogue's better in both and the kitschy-ness of 2 puts it slightly behind. nostalgia goggles aside, 2 hasnt held up well enough since the 90's.

To me:

There's Movie #1... then a few miles of sh*t... and then TMNT Part 4... then one or two miles of sh*t... then TMNT Part 3... then like one mile of sh*t and finally TMNT Part 2.

I see... But it all depends on why. Story wise all of them are way better than SOTO, the only reason it is still my favorite is because I really like the suits they used.

2 and then 1 for me. Can't explain it but 2 has a seemingly everlasting charm for me. I still laugh at the corny ass jokes and I still love the special effects work. It's also my all time favorite voice cast for the characters and contains many of my all time favorites for some characters.

1 is still a great independent film with good atmosphere and makes a decent attempt at retelling a few of the major events in the Mirage comics. Voice cast isn't as good, mainly Don who sounds horrid, and Danny did nothing for me but overall still a great film with some very memorable scenes.

4 I have no major issues with other then that it gets boring pretty quickly and stays that way till the final act. That's a serious issue for a movie that's barely longer then a typical DC animated film. I also wasn't sold on the animation which is barely passable and the character design was nothing short of awful. I hold extra hatred towards it because it plagued the toyline for several years and even leaked it's way into Smash Up.

3 is just garbage. It has no redeeming qualities unless you count the potential to have a good story but in practice it didn't. The story is actually pretty half ass, as were the costumes, and about as opposite of what any kid turtles fan wanted to see as you could get. If you're not going to do Shredder you better do someone either extremely interesting or someone else kids recognize. But the villains aren't even the main issue the film has.

For me it is movie 1, 4, 2, and then 3. When I was younger I think I liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze better than the first one! Probably because it was more like the cartoon and a little more silly. But I definitely voted for movie #1 and then #4! :tcool:

My thoughts exactly, but the reasoning of #3 in front of #2 is purely nostalgic as I remember seeing #3 in theaters as a kid.

Now that I think about it, the first season of the 87 cartoon could be seen as a 5-part movie, sort of like a Japanese OVA.

If we were getting really technical, I would vote for that as being the best TMNT movie.

I loved the three live action films as a youngster although one was always my favourite. But film two and three just don't stand the test of time when re-watching them as an adult, the same may happen to four in years to come but for now in my opinion the films go from best to worst 1,4,TF,3,2

#1 then #2... as flawed as 2 is I still am more fond of it than 4. 4 was a chance to rekindle the franchise and I feel like it dropped the ball pretty badly with a poor story and weak villain choices.

2 was still a huge mistake. Screw all the super shredder nonsense, they should have moved on and done baxter stockman or leatherhead or ANYTHING other than what they chose. But history has been written!

I'm sorry, but "Secret of the Ooze" was always my favorite growing up. And it still is. I guess it probably IS because it was funnier and more entertaining to a kid than the first movie was, but whatever. What was so bad about the second movie anyway?

First then fourth. The first did a nice job of balenceing humor and action and the costumes were nicely done. The fourth made good use of computer animation though for some reason the turtles pupils freak me out :o And coming in a VERY close third is Secret Of The Ooze.

I love the first movie for it's grittiness of the film to give it a dark feel, however I like the turtle suits better in the second movie.

^^ I kind aagree with Nini. I like the Turtle suits in part 1 more but the animatronic and voice work in part 2 is amazing and still holds up damn well. Tokka and Rahzar were very well designed and Kevin Nash.
With that aside I like 1 for it's story tone and the overall effort put into the film.
I like 2 second because of it's goofiness and the qualities listed above. It's a fun movie with lots of action and very little plot.
Then it's Turtles Forever TMNT 3 and 4.
Not crazy about those last two.

Gotta be the first one cos it is so good. Then I like the third just cos it;s so cheesy and fun. Then the animated for the Leo and Raph fight and then secret of the ooze I don't like much at all
