Donatello Fan Art: Updated

I started this Donatello drawing.. and I love it, only problem: I have no clue what to do about the negative space. So.. any suggestions? I would really apriciate all serious ideas.

Here are the finished pencils for this piece.. it'll look better inked. I plan on making the top, (around the eyes) and the bottom of the rock (around Don) black... Update when done.

If I really liek my drawing I will include the old TMNT logo in it (im too lazy to draw the new one, and I write the turtles name on it in letters, takes up space, and informs lol. for my donatello picture I drew a full background, but I dont want to say anything else cuz i want to send it into the official website for teh art contest :P

Hmm... how about a laser beam getting ready to splice his body in half, James Bond style... or a saw? I dunno, just the expression on his face looks like one in fear.

Fear...? Hrmm.. not quite so IMO. Looks more like relunctant determination to do something, like getting his mind in gear for a messy battle.

Seems like his oponent is above him, and he's looking up. Perhaps he can be on a rooftop, with taller buildings in the BG. Thunderclouds above, and rain falling.

(okay... I've been watching too many Fox Box eps)

You could have him falling through a dimensional worm hole or a time warp, like the one they had in the Super NES game.

Thank you all very much for your input, but I ended up going with something a little different, after looking through some old "Blast From The Past" entries. I think you'll like it, I'll post the finished product soon! I appologize for not using your ideas, after you were nice enough to post 'em, thank you again.

That looks cool. What color are you gonna do the background where those eyes are? It should look good when its done :D

I think it will probably be black and white, so the area around the eyes will be black, and the creature after Don is just a cyborg/monster type thing, see Laird's "Blast From The Past."

Off Topic: My favorite Blast has to be Kirby's Ship that can travel between the Mirage and Archie universes.

Me niether :( I haven't been able to work on it, because I'm working on my comic.. it's fun to draw turtles, but I gave myself a deadline for my book.. so I guess that's more important right now.
