Official Ep Discussion #16 "The Pulverizer"

Well, let's see if a promo vid comes out before Friday... I've seen the picture, and it's left me wanting.


So, we've got masked figures and villains showing up in the news. And everyone loves a good story about criminals getting their a$$es handed to them. And when there's a good story, there's bound to be copycats.

Somewhere, in the dark corners of the Boroughs, there's a (strangely older looking) teenager running around with his boxers on the outside of his pants, listening to a police scanner to track down some adventures. Making up his own theme song, hoping to make a name for himself... and causing more problems than anything else. The Pulverizer looks more like a college age kid that lives in his parents' basement, living on TMNT online communities or something? :P Maybe the writers are doing a playful jab to us older fans...

This kid's gonna get his hands full in a bad way - between the Purple Dragons and the Foot, AND the Kraang, it's going to be a miracle if he gets back home in one piece. We may as well just call him Roadkill instead of the Pulverizer... It looks like the boys may get stuck trying to help this 'hero' save the city.

I'm sure it's going to be a good show for Mikey fans, since he's always been big into superheroes no matter what universe you're looking at. Heck, Leo may get to pull out some of his Captain Ryan to impress the kid. We'll see what superhero skills 'Captain Underpants' is going to show us.

I dunno... the ideas are running a little low on this one. As long as we don't end up with an Old Toon Zach type kid, we'll see if this ep contributes anything important to the overall storyline.

On a plus side, we'll be seeing Don's latest resto-mod project - The "Shellraiser", a antique subway car, powered by the Kraang Powercell, that the turtles can somehow manage on the streets of New York without cops or traffic to see them. Can't wait to see that vehicle on an episode of "Parking Wars". There won't be any Chip Foose work done on this ride, but seeing the boys trying to drive for the first time should be fun (unless Splinter's kept his driver's license up to date).

Yoooo that was surprisingly dope! I thought for sure this would be a filler episode but it did not disappoint. Plenty of good action. I had also expected this guy to be a great annoyance but he was pretty funny, actually, and though I'm not rooting for it, I wouldn't mind his return at all. I suspect he WILL train and become quite a force to be reckoned with, thus giving him the build that we can see The Newtralizer has... Hmmm~

The Shellraiser... Whoa! That thing is so badass.

A lot of this episode made me think of what the upcoming games will be like. Driving sequences, training, boss battles, etc. Looking forward to those...

I must say, I was suspicious. This idea for an episode didn't sound that good. However, after watching it, I had a blast.:tsmile: Gosh! Donnie teaching the Pulverizer was like watching a very unsuccessful version of Po from Kung-Fu Panda. It was actually quite funny.

To make a suggestion to Machias:

The line that Leo says to Fishface is hilarious about "walking sushi." That should go in the polls at the top.:tlol:

Yay, another Donnie episode!

I thought this episode was really great. I loved all the parts with the Shell Raiser, but I must say, now that we've seen the inside of the Shell Raiser, I'm a bit disappointed that the toy version of the van has a completely empty inside. Oh well. I was hoping to see Shredder and the foot clan, but Fishface was awesome. I was laughing with the turtles when they first saw him. Seeing Leatherhead would've been nice, but at least they mentioned him. Also, did anyone else catch Metalhead's little cameo? The Pulverizer himself was okay, he wasn't as annoying as I thought he'd be. My favorite line was from Mikey "Dudes, we've got a stalker". I'm surprised with how Splinter handled having a human (other than April) in the lair though, he didn't seem to angry or anything. Something that bugged me was when they shot the stink ball at Fishface, and you could see him get knocked down, but how exactly did that defeat him? Since his legs are robotic, surely he could've gotten up. Other than all of that it was a great episode, I can't wait to see Fishface some more, and I'll be watching the repeat at 8:30.

When Leo, Raph and Mikey go to stop Baxter and leave Donnie with The Pulverizer, they are in Donnie's work space and The Pulverizer is poking around. He goes over to a shut down Metalhead and then Donnie told him not to touch it. It was really just a cameo of sorts.

Sorry for double posting but, I think the foot are going to play a bigger role in season 2, personally I love the kraang plot ( they actually accomplished something in this episode!)

Well, since the foot is trying to find out as much as possible about The Kraang, their alliance should be coming up soon. Hopefully we'll see some of that in the TCRI episode It was kind of in this episode since the purple dragons had to get Kraang tech for Baxter.

Fishface is pretty cool. Mikey talking on Baxter and the Purple Dragon was pretty impressive by him. I think I need to get a Shellraiser now. I only own the Lego version at this point. And crap is gonna hit the fan now that the Kraang have that power source.

At least the Pulverizer isn't like Zach, since he is a teen/young adult with a much more definitive Turtle costume, complete with belt initial (first time since TNM outside of Turtles Forever since we've seen such a thing). He'll be decent once in awhile like Zach in the OT, but as Splinter mentioned, he's a doofus and just wants to be on the team for the sole purpose of being a fan. Why didn't Fishface talk since he was Xever? Also, no April which is a bit surprising for being a Donnie-centered episode. At least the Shellraiser is cool, complete with a "Foot Stinks" shout-out to the original Playmates Party Wagon from its bombs. It should also be noted that this episode takes place on Halloween, meaning that four months have passed from the premiere to now. It seemed like the Turtles didn't accomplish much though since who knows how many Kraang exist in their dimension that are mentioned, as they retrieved the power cell. At least the Turtles knew how to stop Fishface with the cannon on the Shellraiser and careful driving along with fighting allowed the Kraang to escape. There was some good humor, such as a Robocop reference, plus Mikey seemed to act a bit more mature as he not only raised the Shellraiser, but seemed more determined.

Agreed, not sure why they thought this was a good idea. Really ruined my enjoyment of the whole episode.

I kept thinking there'd be some kind of, "twist" where in reality he was an undercover agent of the Foot or something infiltrating the Turtles lair, but sadly no such thing occurred.

Just might be my new favorite episode.
I can see why people might not like The Pulverizer, but I didn't find him as irritating as Zack, from the old series. But I really enjoyed the training montage with Donnie.
I was also sure I would hate FishFace, because I appreciated human villains that can fight, but he turned out a lot more threatening than I expected.

Also, joyriding in the Shellraiser may be the most fun I've had watching this show.

Even though he does remind me of Zach, he shouldn't be based soley on that one character. To me he's an amalgam of different teenagers the TMNT have met over the years throughout different incarnations.

I liked the episode. Not as good as The previous, "Alien Agenda" but still very fun. My favorite moment had to have been the sequence where Donnie was rushing to get Raph the antidote and he was babbling nonsense. As for the Pulverizer...he's an ok character. He's a little annoying but not as much as Zach in my eyes.

I liked the parts with the shellraiser and the action scenes. Don't care for pulverizer. The Fishface battle was really good. When he jumped off the wall it reminded me of fighting Armagon in Tournament Fighters.

To me this episode felt like what Ninja Turtles is all about, That they can go from a more serious type tone like the last few episodes to an episode that's more like this one, just fun and enjoyable to watch! The really awesome thing is that they also managed to keep the continuity and storyline going.

I found myself laughing out loud through out the episode. In the begining they were wondering what was taking Donnie so long and Mikey mentions his short attention span and says something like 'Oh, gum' and Raph smacks it out of his hand. Why he chose Leo to drive because Raph and Mikey would hit something just because. :tlol: Then poor Raph is all out of it. Loved it when Mikey fought off the bad guys while looking after Raph. The shellraiser is awesome.

Oh wauw, can't believe how sharp the humour is in this show, that is really one of the greatest attributes to this show if you ask me.

The perfect chemistry among the characters, exactly because they are all so distinct and different.

Dunno why, but I thought all Splinters lines were really good in this one, for the ten seconds his appeared, his two comedic was just so spot on.
"Is he aware that he is a rat?" "Yes, he is aware." (Deep annoyance in his voice.)

And I am pretty sure that the Pulveriser has a bigger part to play in this thing in the future.
He is probably going to be a person to support the turtles in other ways as a normal person. Start up a fan-club and a support group, give them places to hide out around the city, make a bigger community of fan-boys to help the turtles when needed. Not in combat but in other things.. like giving them free pizza.
And well, that's a pretty cool idea and another way to integrate the turtles more into our world, having them interact with the NYC instead of just being visitors from the sewers.

Nice tie over episode, that seems to mainly exist to introduce and establish plot-points for later use. But did so in a very entertaining way.

I am pretty sure that the Pulveriser, the shell-raiser and the fact that Fishface is venomous is going to be pretty important later on, so it was a good way to establish all of this stuff.

Also the Krang is going to open a portal to dimension X now aren't they? wonder what that is going to mean...

This is my favorite episode now! Kraang finaly won at this one(they were able to take the power cell)!! HAHAHA!!! It is the second time the turtles lose (fist was in episode 9 when my master the Shredder beat them!) Cant wait for next episode!!

While not the strongest episode of the series this was by no means the weakest. Lots of references to earlier plot points and a lot of loose ends were tied up. The unfortuate part of a having a show that believes in significant world building is sometimes you have the episode that introduces a character that may feel like filler but will eventually tie into the grander story. Pulverizer will obviously become the Newtralizer, which I am not exactly excited about, (in fact it makes me kind of sad, but just cause its upsetting to me that the guy will sacrifice his humanity to be a "hero") but setting up who the character is, what he's all about, and the fact that Donnie is now responsible for him will heavily play into the episode where his metamorphisis takes place.

Luckily even in an episode that was sowing seeds for the future, they still gave us a lot of great moments. The one thing that this show will never be judged for is its pacing. The way that they dole out information and memorable moments is impressive. Holding back the introduction of the Shellraiser and Fishface for an episode with a weaker A-Story was a great way to keep fans happy (as evidenced by the fact that we all still seemed to love it). Sure in his first appearance the Pulverizer seemed to be a bit of a polarizing topic, but overall I think he was handled a lot better than he could have been (Zack 2.0 anyone). The one thing I will give the Pulverizer though is when he described Donnie as the strong silent type, because unlike his brother's he's not quick with the quips during battle. That bit did make me laugh out loud.

End of the day the episode excelled because it gave me more of what I always want: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles acting like teenagers. That whole opening with them tooling around the city and enjoying themselves in the Shellraiser, was the typical way that you act when you get your first car. They were completely spot on with the reactions from the brothers and also peppered in a lot of great humour throughout. A very impressive start and I think that's why I was a little bit disappointed when I realized what the episode was going to be about.

Also loved finally seeing Xever back in action, I'm glad that thanks to the Kraang tech he is still as deadly with his legs and when you add the fact that his bite his venomous, he is truly a threat to the green guys and I can't wait until he gets to have more of the spotlight in an episode.

I am a little turned off by aspects of the Nick Splinter though. While I did like they he didn't go off the handle when he found the Pulverizer in the lair, I was a bit turned off by his lack of compassion. I feel like other Splinter's wouldn't have so quickly dismissed the idea of training the Pulverizer. Just writing him off as a doofus seems off for the character. I personally feel like Splinter is the kind of person who would be willing to teach anyone who is willing to learn. He came off as a bit of an elitist in that scene. I did love the way that Donatello defended his actions though, and he was right, might as well give the guy some basic skills, you know so he doesn't get himself killed.

The end of this week may have been the best part though, definitely furthers the overacing Kraang storyline and means that we will probably get some Leatherhead within the next few weeks. I am hoping that if the rumours of the turtles storming TCRI next week are true that they wind up going on a little adventure through space and time and we get to see a certain fugitive droid with a doctorate.

Erh no.. I know this show has taken new directions and made new interpretations of old characters. But they always seems to some-how remind of their older counterparts, and share things with them.

Pulveriser has nothing in common with casey jones!

The attitude, motivation, accent, personality. There's nothing to link him to casey jones.

Pulveriser is his own character.. but you know, the more people talk about him being a the Newtraliser, the more potential I see in a genuinly very touching story, where it's all about the Newtraliser just wanting to be a hero, and do some sacrifices to optain that goal, proving every-body whom thought he was a "dofus." wrong.
There's real potential here, and I trust this show to surprise us.

What I like about the pulveriser here is that he seems like a very genuine, nice sincere person. In spite of his doofusness and.. less than desirable intelligent.
It gets a bit hard to really hate him when he as a person seems that sincere, and the framing. (meaning every-body he encounters.) don't hide the fact that they think he is a doofus.

What makes characters as Zach so annoying, is that all the main characters seems to instantly treat him like "The wonder child." saying. "You are awesome, hang with us." which admittedly, is every childs dream, but is pretty annoying from a narrative stand point.
Here, they all think he is a doofus, and that makes a big difference.

Just watched the episode. Twice.

First time, I didn't like this Pulverizer character, second time, he grew on me a tiny bit. He is sort of an underdog as someone mentioned in this thread, and I guess that's what makes you feel kinda sorry for him. He is a vast improvement from the OT Zach.

I was expecting him to have a redeeming moment at some point. Guess he's just so good at being a doofus... At this point I am just waiting for him to show up again as the Newtralizer!

We also got many funny moments between the turtles. Raph and his magical unicorn :lol:

This episode was really good. I was really glad that they handled the Pulverizer decently. He wants to be a hero like the Turtles, but he's not good at it even when Don trains him. I really hope some aspiring fan fic authors saw this episode because that's how you handle an OC. He definitely wasn't an annoying Gary Stu, and I felt for him at some points. Loved Raph's delusional talk and the Shellraiser. Fishface returns and is definitely a viable threat. As for Splinter's reaction, I can see it because he wants the Turtles' training to be a secret from the outsiders, except for April. And now the Kraang have the power cell, which isn't a good thing. Overall, a very decent ep. Can't wait for next week.

Well one one hand we have: The Shellraiser's big intro, Fishface finally getting his well deserved debut, awesome action scenes with the Kraang (dem jetpacks), and the show's good ol' fashion sense of humor.

One the other hand: The Pulverizer, the kind of character I usually really dislike.

How'd it turn out for me? Just great. I'm not sure I want to see Pulverizer again, in fact, if this is his only episode, well good riddance haha. I liked Donnie and Splinter's talk about him. He truly is, a doofus. And he doesn't bring much to the characters yet. If the turtles are going to get a human vigilante ally, I have another very obvious choice in mind...Otherwise, his brand of physical humor, his design or his voice...nothing quite geled for me.

But yeah, other than that, the episode was top-shelf material. I freaking LOVED the boys's first ride in the Shellraiser. And the joke about Mikey's naming of it being perfect? So good. It was just plain fun seeing the turtles's enjoying their ride and I want more of it in the future.

And how awesome is Xever's new fishy form? Daaaamn. I was hoping he'd keep his capoiera inspired moves and not only he did, but the addition of robotic limbs gives him even more badass leg moves. Didn't see it coming, that he'd be venomous. His wall-jumping, his roars, his kicks...He's incredible. I still haven't found his figure and this episode made things way worse. And Robo-Carp made me laugh so hard.

And as always, the plot moves like a lightning bolt. A filler sounding episode, turns out to be not only the intro of two fan favorites, but a major mover of story. The Kraang have their core now and I can't wait to see what their real plan actually is. And major props to the writers for always finding new ways to keep their Kraang-speech addicting and funny, without becoming old.

I think this was my least favorite episode thus far.
I mean given it was pretty funny and that's one thing I love about this show and something 2k3 was missing.
But I felt this guy was sort of a jab at the fans and he was seriously an idiot, not like calling the fans of TMNT "Sewer Heads" isn't bad enough or anything.
My parenter and I feel this was sort of a waste episode even though some things moved forward.
But hey I thought the Falco episode was as well and who knows this guys is probably going to end up being mutated so you never know.

Yep, this was my Least favorite Episode BY FAR! Though I kinda predicted that but Pulveriser was just a stereotypical character with absolutely no place in this show, atleast so far.

Though things do seem to be picking up after this Episode, with Synopsis for future Episodes sounding just as amazing as "The Gauntlet"!

Looking very much forward to "TCRI", however this Episode was just underwhelming.

So I finally got to see it! If Pulverizer does become Newtralizer, I have a couple possible theories..

Theory 1: With the Turtles no longer training him, Pulverizer gets impatient and decides to let the Shredder "help" him(This is supported by his quote about not having time to workout). It would also give us an origin to those weapons.

Theory 2: Pulverizer trains, gets better, and revisits the Turtles. He goes on a mission with them and gets mutated.

I can't wait to see The Turtles go after the power Cell!

Here's my review on it. Though I do have to say I hope this guy does NOT become the Newtralizer because that would make him lame. I mean, do you really expect him to just suddenly drop all character traits and become a super bad-ass just because he's a mutant newt? Look at how bad ass that figure looks. Do you see that figure acting stupid and tripping himself up? As for train and get better... that's a long way from a dude that can barely do a push-up. Woo! So that episode was awesome. Flying Kraang. Fishface/Robocarp. SHELLRAISER.

I get the feeling that the writers really favour Donnie. His brothers might not always respect him, but he's still the one making all the cool gadgets; to have Raph admit this was so satisfying. And, in this episode, he gets to be sensei... to a total doofus.

The part I liked most was Splinter telling Donnie that he now has a responsibility towards Pulverizer. Along with giving him the tools to hold his own, Donnie also has to make sure the guy doesn't endanger the wrong people. Whether he realises it, him choosing to save the boy instead of going after the power cell was a great example of that.

Speaking of, Pulverizer is your typical fanboy (Incredi-boy, anyone?) who's all panache and special techniques, but he does have the dogged tenacity and basic tailoring skills to chase after his dreams. And while I find him annoying, I'd like to see where that takes him in his career. Just have to see if his heart is in the right place, like Zack.

Also, also. Those Kraang dudes are still hella wasteful with their tech. No wonder they need their leader.

I remember back in '99 when I was just getting back into the TMNT, renting videos of the original cartoon from Blockbuster and my dad would kinda did the same thing, giving me this look like I was messed up in the head or something. Before anyone uses this post to diss the Fred Wolf series, keep in mind this was BEFORE the 4Kids cartoon and I had not learned about the original Mirage comics.

Hm. Not a bad episode, but kinda weak. The Shellraiser makes a nice toy, I'm sure, but it doesn't make any sense that they'd be driving a subway car around the city. That's why I liked the Battle Shell, it was just another armored car.

Pulverizer wasn't that bad, he had some funny moments. After his first 2 lines I thought he was voiced by Josh Keaton, but it was Roger Craig Smith. I hope he doesn't become a frequently used character. And no he isn't Casey, and I think you guys are really reaching on this Newtralizer connection.

I'm glad Xever's no longer useless, but I couldn't help but think a lot of his fight was just silly looking. I wish he never got mutated. Speaking of which, it was kind of odd that he didn't talk to the turtles, I'm not so sure they even know he's Xever since they probably didn't get a good look at him after running from Shredder.

Final scene was a big game changer, I'm really interested to see Dimension X so I'm glad they got the power cell back. And the flying Kraang were totally awesome, hope they use those jetpacks more often.

That was a really good episode. In my top 5, easily. Pulverizer was a douche, but he was intended to be a douche so it's all good, especially because it gave Don an opportunity to do his adorable know-it-all-thing. Loved Mikey casually multi-tasking snarking at Don, watching over Raph and shrugging off advancing ninjas. Also I love that when they got hold of a heavily weaponized vehicle, they basically went on a joyride and started driving it into walls.

I was worried it was going to get too Raph and Leo-centric after the last 2 weeks so... this is a relief.

No even Turtle Temper was more engaging and well thought-out, big problem was that SpyderBytez was a very weak villain! The Pulverizer was just filler and felt like a waste of time. :(

It comes down to what you want from an episode doesn't it? I want them to be funny and have weird things in them and also a decent amount of action. It satisfied those requirements. If you're more interested in whether Shredder is in it or whether it advances the plot or whatever, then it's not gonna be your thing.

While I didn't like Pulverizer I really enjoyed the episode, Shellraiser is awesome, hopefully we see more of it soon. Fishface being able to fight on land now is exciting, together with Dogpound they are going to make Shredder and the foot clan even more formidable.

Other than I really set my suspension of disbelief switch higher than usual, it's a decent episode that ties up plot points such as Kraang getting somewhere for once and Xever's legs.

I agree, it was still a solid episode but I also thought it was the weakest so far. I WILL say that the Shellraiser is super bad ass and the Fishface battle was awesome but I didn't care for this super-fan bs but only so much you can do! I also loved Splinter in this episode...

I see the next weeks all being much better as they build stories and more baddies!

Well, it wasn't a bad Episode. Sure not as great as the other one before it, but I enjoyed the Fun-Factor in it.
I was also surprised, how patient Donnie was with the Pulverizer, everyone else would have probably gone insane.

I don't think it was a lukewarm episode at all. At points it played like a "downtime" episode though with all that training and hanging around the lair talking. Which personally I really enjoy. You need stuff like that to build the characters, otherwise it's nothing but nonstop battles.

Pulverizer is annoying. Will he become the newtralizer and redeem himself somehow as a character? That seems like what a lot of fans are predicting. Wouldn't it be rad if he turned out to be the best supporting character of the entire series once he becomes a mutant though?

brief rundown of my highlights:
* shellraiser, so glad to see it in action. it looks cool and the interiors are also cool
* music. series continues to introduce awesome sounding music. sadly the music is played in short clips though so you can't really let it sink in. it's top notch though and i'd love to see a soundtrack someday.
* i love that they mentioned leatherhead and even showed metalhead. continuity appreciation!
* fishface looks great! love his shiny fish skin. his battle style is wicked too. All that leg spinning and stomping. his venom ability is a great touch that really sets him apart from dogpound.
* donnie being donny. shellraiser introduction, creating anti-venom for raph, being a patient instructor for pulverizer. some of those training parts were really funny.
* "who do we know who would be interested in stolen evil robot parts?" "baxter st--donatello." That timing was so... perfect T__T my favorite line of the episode :)

I like IGN's review but personally I'm giving this a 7.9/10. Definitely not a bad episode, and not the 'worst' of the series so far either.

They gave Shredder (and Splinter) a teenage daughter that talks back to him, they made Rat King a mad scientist and they made Baxter a bumbling wannabe comicbook super villain. Yeah, after two episodes of Leo and Raph, I appreciate the downtime with Don as the one running the episode and Mikey showing how scary competent he can be when he puts his mind into it.

- Donnie training his pupil. Like I said, I despise the Pulverizer, so I admire Donnie's patience and determination to train even someone like THAT.

So overall, still a good episode.

I remember back in '99 when I was just getting back into the TMNT, renting videos of the original cartoon from Blockbuster and my dad would kinda did the same thing, giving me this look like I was messed up in the head or something. Before anyone uses this post to diss the Fred Wolf series, keep in mind this was BEFORE the 4Kids cartoon and I had not learned about the original Mirage comics.

Whereas my 58 year old father sat and watched it with me... He even commented on what was going on... The whole thing felt very Raph and Leo watching Space Heroes... But whatever different strokes for different folks

Personally I think it was a jab as all those honourary kid team members ALL super hero teams had back in the eighties.

Zach from TMNT and then teams like Justice league, Biker mice from mars, Power rangers, the whole bundle. There would ALWAYS be some kind of a kid, whom is a big fan of the team, and gets to hang out with the team, and the team always adores him by default, and the kid is always oh so special for.. some reason.
Oh yeah, Wesley Crusher from Star Trek easily falls into this category as well.

Now the idea behind that kid on all those shows is rather simple. The kid audience can channel through that kid, and wish that they were the kid.. which is quite frankly the recipe for Mary sue.. or gary sue or what-ever.

So this show decided to make fun of that! saying. "Well, if there were a nut-job fan like that... this is how it would go down!"
So they make him a fat, geeky, doofus, young adult, whom is really embarrising himself and annoys our heroes.. hehe, welcome to reality I guess. I thought it was funny.


...another show that took a way more serious twist of this same kid character were "justice league tas." where the justice league ended up in another dimension, meeting another super-hero team, where a kid constantly hung around them and got to go on adventures with them. By the end of the episode they found out the kid was the actual bad guy, a horrible mutant whom used mind powers to trap every-one inside of his ideal fantasi world..

That's.. two very different twists on the same character. One like this TMNT one is humourus the other.. was quite disturbing. But a really good episode, I recommend checking it out.

Also as a con goer and cosplayer myself I can appreciate the humour, I swear the last big con I was to last May, was filled with what I call. "Hulk-sillas."
Big fat men whom had body painted themselves green, wore purple shorts and called that a cosplay.. and no I did not ask to see that up close. But it just proofs it. These people exists.. and they are nuts!

It was alright. I actually don't mind the Pulverizer, yeah he's the annoying fan of the turtles but to me he's at least more interesting than Cody or Zack from the previous two cartoon, and I guess I just don't hate him. Fishface looks great in action but a bit disappointed by what he did in the actual episode, hopefully later he'll do more interesting things, but I like him. I'll still miss Xever. What I didn't like about the episode is that it basically was another generic plot of the foot and krang, and I'm tired of those, I want bigger stakes than what they've dealt with.

I liked this episode " the pulverizer" did remind me of Zack and was a bit cringe worthy but even then The guys did seem a little bit more snobbish with him that it probably needed to be. The shell raiser turned out to be pretty cool.

I love donnie in this ep: despite being seemingly annoyed by this random guy that they picked up on the street, he cares enough to train him so he doesn't get massacred. He also looks pretty badass when he demonstrates the correct use of the bo :tgrin:

ya know what's weird :D I thought I'd hate them with pupils and stuff (since I was only used to tmnt 2003's look)

Definitely not a bad episode, but for me personally not as good as the last three. There were plenty of good moments, especially the ride in the beginning, Fishface's return and Donatello "training" the Pulverizer, but the main plot regarding that character felt overall weak IMHO.


I actually found him more annoying than Zach in the OT series, at least Zach had some sense of humility as well as respect. Although him admitting at the end he messed things up was a good start. I wouldn't mind seeing him again, hopefully he'll grow eventually as a character.


Good episode overall, but with too many ups and downs.

this is the first episode that I've seen in forever do to my work schedual and my older sisiter hogging the TV when I'm actually around. WHat amde me grin from ear to ear was Donatello. I was getting OT Raphael vibes off of him the whole time he was interacting with the pulverisor. Rob Paulsen's delivery on his lines were phenomenal in this episode, also this episode sort of made me respect this Donatello a little more. Maybe it because I've missed so many episodes, but until now I really haven't been too impressed with this Dontello . I thought he was too much of the character "things just happen to" turtle. Even Mikey was getting in on him. Don made me lagh in this episode.

I was also impressed with Mikey, I liked how even while distracted while tending to Raphael he was still kick butt. I loved the scene while he is taking care of Raph some bad guy comes at him from behind with a chain about to clobber him, and without taking his attention off of Raph, Mikey casually wraps his kursuri gama around the bad guys weapon and flings him aside. Mikey doesn't even bother to look behind him and he does it as casually as if he were brushing his hair (if he had any) out of his face. 8) Then later when one bad guy actually manages to take his attention off of Raph, he slowly turns around and gives him this pissed off look before kicking his ass. I like seeing scenes like this with Mike because it shows he not incompetent and his is a little badass when he wants to be.

I not too crazy about pulverisor, frankly I thought he was a dumb character, however I appreciate that the writer kept it realistic by not pulling a cliche, the dumbass of the week saves the day by implementing a move he just learned. It thought it was realistic that Pulverrisor couldn't pull off the leg sweep move of the krang droid.

Exactly, he probably couldn't get the kraang down because of its weight,.....now that I'm thinking about it, what do you suppose kraangs weigh? Id say there pretty heavy considering that there robots.

I'll have too watch again, but if that's the case, it indicates that kraang are pretty heavy, even Raph couldn't take one down without a weapon.

I think it was during the premiere. Raph threw Leo earlier in the ep, when they fought the Kranng and he tried to do the same move to one of them, he couldn't throw them and he was like 'oh c'mon!!!'.

The epidsode where Donnie grabs one of the empty robots to bring back to the lair for study shows him really struggling to lug it home, so I'd think the bots are pretty heavy.

I watched this Episode again, and honestly it's not as bad as my first viewing. I mean yes, the Pulverizer was still Very annoying but the Episode helped establish some key features in this series such as The Shellraiser which was pretty badass and Fishface which was easily the best part of the Episode.

It's still the worst episode so far, but that in no way means its plain "Bad", it still had the hilarious humour and kick ass action to go along with it. I just wished there wouldn't be too much focus on the Pulverizer who is probably the worst character in this series! (Tied with Pigeon Pete!)

My first score was 4.5/10
But now I have to say its a lot better than I thought it was so...7.3/10

I have REALLY High hopes for "T.C.R.I" so it better be worth the wait for another week! Probably my most anticipated Episode since "I, Monster"!

If not for continuity I would have said that this episode was pretty average. It's not bad, just not that good, when compared to other episodes.
