u can do all four Turtles April and Splinter and Shredder, if u want u can do other characters aswell, strictly from todays series ..a personality trait something physical a certain direction there heading anything pointless but a criticism nontheless
try to think of something Negative.... [obviously you'll have disagreements but who cares]
even though hip and cool i would never hang around Michaelangelo, hes TOO babyish and i would be embarrassed to be seen with him in public
Although hes still learning, Leonardo is not even close to the Leader Ralph is
splinter is a showoff and his long beard thing bugs me
deep down inside Donatello has social issues and not just with April
Anything Negative any Pointless thing that bugs or annoys u about the show

Is there a point to this thread? Character flaws are what make them relateable.

theres not a point to this thread or any thread for that matter, just examples of criticisms thats all
sort of like the 'say something negative about yourself' stuff, my favorite is Leonardo and thats what i thought of, perhaps youre around many people who speak only negative about this cartoon but i havent felt that at all , 95% of the time people are praising the characters seems like it to me, i just wanted to do one thread where we actually do the opposite just for fun

I first was going to say that this thread was unnecessary, but I have to admit, there are things that do bother me.
Raph can sometimes be mean, and I don't like that. Still, he's loveable because deep down, he's got a good heart.:tsmile:
Mikey is sometimes an idiot, and I can't believe how Nick dumbed him down that low.:trolleye: However, he's funny and not laughable in a bad way. He is very cute, too.
Donnie's crush on April must eventually stop because it sometimes comes off annoying. Now and then, it makes Don cute, but still. Eventually, he'll just have to face the facts that she doesn't love him and (obviously) Casey Jones will enter her life. Plus, he hasn't even dared ask, "Are you single," or "Will you go out with me?" He just assumes she likes him, when in reality, she may like him only as a friend. Still, you can't argue with the brains of the group. I do love his characterization so far. Still, he should be using that blade more in his staff. It drives me crazy when he doesn't.:tgrumble:
Leo is awesome.:tcool: You may think I could say something bad about this one, but I think he's the best incarnation of him we've had in years. There's no way I can nitpick anything about him. (Oh yes, I can).:twink: While I love him watching Space Heroes, and emulating Captain Ryan, I still think we need to see him getting more influenced by Splinter. Somehow, he is his true hero. I know it. While he is also a good leader and amazing in combat, he has soon gotta come up with better catchphrases because they don't always work. Sometimes, they are unbearable to listen to. He should start watching more 24 and get lessons from Jack Bauer. Plus, I'm not happy that he still is naive in relationships. While it's cool to see the chemistry between him and Karai, sometimes she's just mean, and yet, he believes there's good in her. She makes him delusional putting all sense out the window. Seriously. He needs to stay away from her. He's better than that.:tmad: Well, I guess this is the price of falling in love. I wonder if Batman has had this kind of problem with Catwoman. Still, this Leo is one of the best. Better than 2k7 Leo, I will admit (even though I liked that one occasionally).:twink:

Splinter.. he is sort of a physically abusive father
Leonardo.. He is supposed to be the most disciplined.. but has not really shown that quality yet.
Raphael.. He is a bully towards Mike and Don especially.
Donnie.. he has a stupid habit of pointing out facts that are actually pretty well known.. give me some REAL trivia braniac!
Mikey.. his naming everything is getting OLD and he rarely brings anything of worth to the team
April.. Buy some more outfits lady!
Shredder.. I dunno.. but I bet going to the bathroom sucks with all that armor on.

He doesn't seem to be doing that as much as he used to though. He actually complimented Donatello in the most recent episode. I do believe, and hope that over time they'll all start to mature a little more as the show progresses.
Leonardo is not a very good leader and likes to just sit on roofs.
Donatello's gap tooth is kinda distracting.
Raphael looks better as a toy than on the show.
Mikey looks odd with no pupils.
April's toy sucks
Splinter walks funny
Shredder's toy sucks
Karai is horrible and cruel
Baxter's not a fly
The Kraang are not one single entity
Dogpound's toy is better than the show, same goes with Fishface Also, they're not Bebop and Rocksteady
We haven't seen the Rat King wrap up April yet.
Pigeon Pete is ugly.

Ok...
Raph: It seems like Nick has flanderized Raph badly. His one, main trait is anger and there's not much more. I would really like to see Raph be a deadpan snarker, like he was in the OT.
Michelangelo: His child like ways are a little annoying sometimes, he acts like he's 8, not 15!
I don't really have any problems with Nick's versions of Donnie or Leo. Donnie is pretty straightforward though I'm not too fond of his crush on April or how he's a buttmonkey (mostly for his geeky ways) I like Leo's characterization and I find it odd/ interesting that he uses a tv show as a basis for being a hero.

Well honestly... in this show, their character flaws is a strenght, because the show deliberately exsposes them and points them out. And they make the turtles very interesting, distinct and their dynamic interesting.
And it's also very easy to say what their flaws are.
... Mikey is clearly an ADHD child.
He is easily distracted, dis-orginaised, forgetful and not technically smart.
Some-times it seems like he is depending to much on his brothers, it's easy for him to be the joker when he knows that his brothers will look over him.
How-ever, it becomes clearly that when he puts his mind to it, he can be smarter and better than that. When he is in a serious situation without the back-up of his brothers, he is much more serious.
And on the flip-side of being the way he is, he is a person whom is extremely friendly (some-times to friendly and naive.) open-minded, creative thinking, can see things another way than his brothers can some-times, lightens the mood and he is always so gosh darn happy. I don't think we have ever seen him being in a bad mood, he is sir positive.
Donatello is the opposite of Mikey, he thinks waaaay to much, and remember the dumbest small details about every-thing.
he often over-complicates things so much that it ends up shooting himself in the foot. He is a bit of a dork, and often lack the ability to sense the immediate social situation, he doesn't always understand that other people don't understand what he is talking about.
On the other hand, he genuinly is a genius exactly because of this, and the other turtles would be so screwed without his genius. Also they wouldn't have awesome gadgets.
And I love how enthusiastic he actually is about his things, he loves it.
Raphael clearly has a temper problem.
He is kind of an alfa male and doesn't take orders easily, he is very thin skinned and take easily to comments, then try to cover up for it by appearing tough.
He is the rudest turtle by far, doesn't always know when to stop, or when to think, and often comes in trouble because of it.
On the flip side of that, he really cares about his family and friends, wouldn't want to see them hurt, and only ever does the hot headed things because they make most sense to him.
"this thing here is threatening my friends, so I should destroy it immediately." That's logic for Raph, which is both a flaw and a plus. He cares, that's why the shippers love him so much.
Then we have Leo.. yeah the turtle with the least flaws, but some.
He is tasked with being a leader, but don't really understand what that position means. He has been lead to believe from some TV-show that it's fun and glorius, but is slowly realising that it isn't after-all.
He is a teenager and not all that mature yet but.. he really is a teenager so that only seems natural.
And he is a nice good person as well so well.. this Leo is certainly the most balanced, least flawed turtle.. which is probably why he is the leader.
April.. erh yeah that's the problem. Can't really come up with any flaws, that's why she is sort of bland at this point.
Splinter.
Well.. he has a trauma to deal with, his former family sort of died. So he can be over-protective ones in a while, and be very strict, some-times even to strict, even if it is just to protect his family.
He is a very diciplied "Old traditions." kind of guy, so he doesn't always blend well with the modern world and modern way of thinking, it's some-times quite obvious that he is in fact foreign, and lifes by another culture. So well, actually would be kind of interesting to see this Splinter act a little more in New york, that would sort of be a fish out of water.
He is how-ever, always prepaired to admit his own flaws and learn from them, he always listens and he cares a lot for his family, he is over-protective, because he cares. So well, good thing on the flip-side of the bad thing and virsa versa.

Eh, you know what? I don't really like this thread anymore. Now some are just bashing the characters, especially the toys. It's ridiculous.:tsad:
Some of their 'established' traits have been exaggerated in a way to appease kids, which is fine as I guess it's a show for kids :) The saving grace is the voice acting which makes the interactions seem quite natural.

People seem to be hating Raph's temper mostly. Could have swore e is supposed to be that way...
Anyway let me see:
I kinda wish Raph would get angry and run off in his own.
I don't like how Leo's nerdy side.
Mikey is a little bit too dumb, but he is pretty damn funny.
When Donnie does his "Actually it's blah blah blah." Does get a bit old.
Shredder doesn't really do enough yet.
I don't like Karai's design.
These are just little nitpicks. I actually love this show and this stuff doesn't really just bother me all that much.

:tgrumble: I can relate to Raph being that way. I can be that way too. Maybe that's why I love/hate it so much. But it's what makes Raph, Raph.
Mikey has always been my favorite, but the creating names thing can drag on a little too much. But I love how he befriends others so easily.
I don't mind Donnie's crush on April, I just hope the writers don't take it to an overly awkward place.
I'm still trying to put my finger on April. She has been to grow on my slowly.
Leo, I really like Leo. But he is a bit naive when it comes to Karai, hope it doesn't bite him in the end. Just keep it check. Again he's a teen with a crush.

I think I got one for April. I mean, she's got to realize that Donnie has a bit of a crush on her at this point. He's pretty clumsy when it comes to being subtle about it (He managed to go on a soliloquy about how pretty she is with Metalhead's speakers on, for one). Yet she hasn't really said anything yet, or tried to set the record straight about whether or not she feels the same way (Which, chances are, not so much). Not sure if it's really a character flaw, but it's something I've noticed and I think it's interesting.

I think she knows.
She just doesn't know how to deal with it yet.
And well, from her side there seems to be small much more subtle hints that she cares a little more for Donnie than the other turtles.
Small glimpses like she out of all four options, hugs Donnie when in need of a hug. Calling Donnie, not Leo, for help when she needs it. Stands often a little closer to Donnie than the others.
Small subtle hints littered over the place that she is a little more comfortable around him than the others.
Maybe she has a slight crush on him, maybe she doesn't and more view him as a new brother.
And well, if she does have a slight crush on him... how do you deal with a crush on a human seized turtle?
Can't really say that I blame her for keeping it under wraps and secretly crossing her fingers for it to slowly fade away so they can just be friends.
But I do like that this relationship isn't compleately one-sided. April doesn't just ignore Donnie, she sees him, they have conversations, she goes to him and clearly enjoy his company. They spend actually time togeterh, and he isn't just invisible air to April.
Also, they have few very ordinary conversations where Donnie is just being himself, often the crush is there for one short joke and Donnie snaps directly back to being himself, while April is still there, so he is not caught up in it, and they have a real friend-ship going, which is nice.
Also is it me, or does April look like she is dissapointed in not getting a hug here?
Like she is thinking. "Damn I blew the moment, stupid me, you are supposed to go for it Donnie!"

No, Donnie had just been about to hug her, then realised she wasn't about to hug him. And he changed the motion into ruffling her hair instead of hugging.. since he all-ready was in mid-motion and couldn't stop. Which made April pull that face... the ruffling of hair I mean, seems like she didn't enjoy that at all.
It was honestly a hillarious little bit, by far my favourite joke about Donnies crush, it just made me laugh, and was so perfectly timed.

Shredder is too obsessed with destroying Splinter. I mean, at least the other Shredders, while they wanted to destroy Splinter, they had other plans as well, like taking over Earth. Here, Shredder's all, "Destroy Spinter this. Destroy Splinter That." He never talks about anything else.
I mean, if he finally accomplished his goal, what would he do after that?

The series just started and we haven't even seen Shredder all that much, so I think it's a bit early to be jumping to conclusions. He is also trying to find out more about the Kraang, plus, he has a daughter. Shredder obviously has a life, it's just that those moments aren't shown.

Well, you got to pick there. Either you love something with that crazy "IT'S PERFECT, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST THAT IT COULD BE ANYTHING LESS THEN FLAWLESS' fervour, or you love it all: The good, the bad, and the moments that make you go 'eh". Splinter's kind of strict and overprotective at times, Mikey's kind of an airhead, Raph's got a temper problem, Leo's a bit too obsessed with space hero's and Donnie's a bit high-strung and over thinks. Noting their flaws doesn't mean you hate them. In fact, bringing them out into the open and talking about how they might cause future issues or influence the plot is another expression of love :) At least, I see it as that.
@Shredded
This is true. I'm really interested in seeing where it will go. I kind of wish we could see April's side of it more often. She sort of goes into this awkward >_> stare moment whenever Donnie acts like a dork around her (Not that I can really find fault in that, I'm no better). But it's probably linked in to what you said: She likely feels most comfortable around him (Though she seems to get along with everyone best, Donnie was the first to 'make contact' so to speak) and the "....I think he likes me likes me?" bit might be sending her brain for a loop. I know there's mixed feelings about the Donnie/April thing, but I kind of like it. It's fun to watch it develop, but I'm impatient and the fact that we're not really getting much of April's side of it makes me want to shake a fist at Nick xD
Though honestly, I don't see the whole thing ending really well for Donnie. Especially not when Casey enters the picture (You know, if Nick decides to follow in the traditional Casey/April path).

You have got to be kidding. How is this Raph "flanderized"? While I think he get's the least focus out of all the guys, it's not like anger is his only personality trait. He's actually a big softie (see Spike, and his panic attack when Mikey goes down in "New Girl in Town").
Every other version of Raph makes him sound like a pissed off 40-year-old cab driver. This is the first time he's been portrayed as a believe teenager in a long time. And for once he's not riding around on a freakin motorcycle for no reason.
