does it matter which cast is better?

Hard to say since the characters only share name and mask color. Old voices were good for those characters[altough they didn't sound as good over time, especially Leo's voice changed] and new voices are good for these characters[took few eps for everyone to perfect the voices].

I agree with Karpo. If you listen to Raph's voice in episode 1, he gets WAY too deep. Mikey's isn't completely up to par either. But now, they are completely in the zone and I love it. As for which cast is better...I'll put it like this. I wouldn't trade any of the new actors for the old ones, or any of the old ones for the new ones. The combination of the 4 worked/work well together. But, I will add that if a live movie is done, the new voices won't work in my opinion. They're cartoon voices. Especially Mikey's (which, though, is my favorite in the new cartoon). If you examine Robbie Rist's Mikey in the first movie (and even in the 2nd and 3rd to an extent), it sounds completely 'natural' and not so cartooney. That's what they'll need to shoot for again.

I dunno bout anyone else but april's voice is remarkably like the old one.
But for shredder there can be no better voice for him then that of the original show, Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bell Air. One other thing you may or may not know, the original voice of splinter is/was also the voice of Elmo of Sesame Street.

i like the new show's cast alittle bit better it fits the characters better
raph's voice was too high-pitched for me
and the new splinter also does pegasus from *shiver* yu-gi-oh
and the old cartoons shredder was perfect for the old show! it was menacing but it had that saturday morning mad scientist quality to it
the new shredder has the suave but evil type voice that you can see being used by a regular buisness man
but thats my outlook and im a idiot! stryker signing off! BAMF! *disppears*

Not only that but Mikey's voice is also that of Joey wheeler from Yu Gi oh, and Lance from pokemon
Casey Jones did just about every male on Daria
April O'neil had been ALL OVER THE PLACE, Fighting Foodons - Clawdia,
Kirby - Fololo and Falala, Ultimate Muscle - Kid Muscle's Mom, the girl on cubix, Pokemon - Ash Ketchum and his mom and she even played a young battler in Yu GHi Oh, whom if I remeber corectly was named Paradice.
Raph is also the voice of terri Kanyon from Ultimat muscel
Splinter in addiction to Yu Gi Oh is also Minch from Ultimate muscel

I think terry kenyin is the worst. i cant stand to watch him or hear him talk. I like dick dick van dick though and kevin mask. But about the voices i think the new ones are way beter. i cant stand the old voices. their trash in my opinion . well i liked shredders and krangs . krangs was my favorite, but the turtles voices wherent good at all . the one i liked the least was raphael.

I liked the old cast better, but it wouldn't work for the current show. I agree that it took time to get used to the voices (except Mikey's, which sounded pretty much like he did in the old cartoon/movies). But I remember when I first heard Raph's voice for the current toon I was like :o whoa, that doesn't sound very good, but now I like it :tthumbsu:

Well, it does have a lot in common with the FIRST movie, not so much the second and third, BUT the first movie was heavily based on the Mirage book, and since the new cartoon has shown things like Baxter, the Mousers, April as a lab assistant -things that weren't in the movie- I think it's more fair to compare the new show to the Mirage book than to any of the movies.

In regards to Tokka's comment...the actors on the new TMNT are actually non-union actors, so, in essence, they are just guys off the street. There was also a pilot done with union actors. How do I know? One of my closest friends voiced both Mikey and Don in it.

I like the Old donatello's voice. The new one seems just a little too girly and the voice actor seems just a little too unsure, even though he seems to be getting better and is slowly growing on me.
I can't help but twitch everytime Don says 'Mikey' though. It just bugs me on some deep unknown level ;)

Heh, the Nestle Quick rabbit...
But yeah, Cam Clark is an awesome voice actor. He's been one of my favorites ever since Akira (I HATED the new dub of that where he got replaced by Vash the Stampede).
All teh other voices for the old show were perfect, though Rob Paulson's Raph could get a little irritating.
The new voices are good and all but they seem sort of...generic. That's not a bad thing since it makes the characters seem more realistic and less cartoony with outrageous voices.
But I wonder how Raph has a Brooklyn accent but none of theother turtles do. I also wonder why they don't have Japanese accents liek Splinter since he's the one who raised them. Hmmmm...

As far as the character went I thought James Avery did a great job with him.
He was relatively versitile and did a pretty damn good job immitating Mike in "Cowabunga Shredhead". I also loved his whining, "But I don't wanna conquer Dimension X! I wanna conquer Eeeeaaaaaarth!". He could also occasionaly sound menacing, "Tonight I dine on Turtle soup."
He was good for the character at the time when he was portrayed as a bumbling oaf. But no, he wouldn't work for Shredder in the new show.

In referance to the voice box...... there was none, that was the actor ( :D Uncle Phil :D ) doing a great job with the charecter. Yes he was a big wussie, Krangs lap dog, he wasn't wussie in the comic but the Krang wasn't in the comic either.

To this statement I have to paste a copy of an extensive PM I sent to a guy who constantly bashes the old cartoon:
I'm curious...
Do you have an involvement with children at all? I mean you constantly put down the 80's cartoon without thinking about what age group they were geering it for. If you do have a son, daughter, neice or nephew or a combination of all of them, I'd think you would appreciate the 80's cartoon more because that is where you get the young ones interested in Ninja Turtles. Case in point: I introduced my neice to the old Transformers and she loves them. Now I'm not saying this is a good thing that she likes Armada but at least she had a starting point to loving Transformers. But I still refuse to show her even the sanitized Rhino Tape (Transformers: The Movie. I think I should have stated thast but it escaped my mind at the time I wrote this PM.) because she's not ready for that kind of intensity. The same can be said about Godzilla movies. As much as I hate the dubbed version of Godzilla's Revenge, my neice and nephews love it so I put up with it because I want them to like Goji films and be able to watch the more intense ones when they're old enough to. There are some Goji fil;ms I will not show my neice or nephews because they are much too scary like most of the Heisei Godzilla movies. I mean Mechagodzilla from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1970's version) from the Showa era used to give me nightmares as a 5 year old kid. Then there were a few scary episodes from Battle of the Planets like when Princess Aka Jun in Gatchaman was swallowed up by alien pods sent to Earth by the bad guys and a huge scary robot hidden as a giant Indian statue at an amusement park during the day that scared me as a kid too. I can imagine that 2K3 Shredder would have scared me royally when I was 5. Basically what I'm trying to say is that you bash the 80's cartoon without thinking who they were made for. I find that 9 times out of 10 the person who does this has little or no contact with a child below the age of 9. Granted I share your enthusiasm about the new cartoon based on the comics. I love it alot especially episode 17. Very well adapted episode from the Leo One Shot. But I also enjoy the 80's cartoon alot because A.) Some of the episodes are hilarious because of it's campy goofball nature. B.) This is something I can share with my 5 year old nephew and 7 year old neice without scaring them ****less. You can't tell me the amount of violence in the 2K3 cartoon wouldn't scare kids at that age.

I wasn't bashing the old cartoon I was just saying that Shredder was a wuss in it that's all. Yeah the new Shredder may scare little kids but that's the whole point! He's the villian your supposed to be scared of him! Your talking about 5 year olds watching it. Well the show is rated TVY7! Personally I don't think little kids would be scared of the violence. When I was a little kid I was mad the cartoon didn't have enough violence! There ninjas damnit! They should be kicking ass not making jokes! It's not like I hate the old cartoon. I like it. I grew up watching it. I just like the new one better! This is the show I wish I had on when I was a Kid!

Yeah, that Brooklyn accent thing drives me batty at times. It makes Raph sound like a forty-something year old construction worker with a beer gut! Excuse me. I live far up North from New York City in the state of New York itself and I have an accent with which I can turn on and off at will. I also acquired a bit of a Welsh accent from a friend I had ages ago who used to be our pastor's daughter at the church we used to attend. But anyways, I think it has been hinted numerous times that the turtles are not blood related brothers but brothers in an adopted sense. I mean it could be possible that they are different breeds of turtles too. I think the different accents also lend to a sense of uniqueness for each turtle that is indicative of their personalities. There ain't nothin' wrong with that bub.

I really like the new voice cast. And you can't expect all of them to be perfect at the voicing. Raph sounds too rough, Don sounds girlish at times, and as for Leo and Mikey, I'm still looking for faults.
As for the old voice cast, I was too young and barely remember it so I can't really say anything about it.
Well, I have to say that I am very happy with the new voices. The majority of the Turtles do sound they way "I want them" too...heh. The new people sound pretty similar to the originals... I only wish people like Cam Clarke or James Avery could of came back... I know that Cam is still an active voice over guy... The only person I have a problem with is the Shredder's "regular" voice.
