How do you explain the Technodrome sometimes seems to have moved a little bit, still on the same place, between seasons of the 1987 show. I would say:

Between season 1 and season 2, I just think started to drift through interstellar space and across the asteroid belts, crashing on that rocky planet.

Between season 2 and season 3, I think Krang used some drills to get out of the lava (the Technodrome being made of some Dimension X element which can stand lava, just as the transport modules), and up on the cliff again (which costed a lot power, and the Technodrome was already damaged).

Between season 3 and season 4, I just assume the Technodrome starts drifting through interstellar space for a while, before getting sucked up by the Volcanic Asteroid's atmosphere and crash on the asteroid.

Somewhere between "Turtle Trek" and "Divide & Conquer", I assume the local authorities on that planet used some spacecraft/tractor pull to lift the Technodrome up again and check out what it was. Discovering it so damaged, they abandoned it.

Cool theories!! :) Sounds like dumb luck that they wound up in the smaller volcano in Season 4/European episodes. I figure Krang's space fleet's lasers loosened it from whatever it crashed head-first into.

Season 3 had it move a bit and it found itself even closer to the lava.

The Technodrome definitely moved when it was sunk underwater.

As we recall, the Technodrome sunk beneath the ice when they were in the Arctic. Yet during Season 6 and 7...the Technodrome seems much closer to NYC that the Turtles could drive the Turtle Van (in submarine mode) to it.

So did the Technodrome drive underwater from the Arctic to close to NYC?

I guess so, if Krang had his body tuned up before that. He was in his bubble walker in Rock Around the Block and Krangenstein Lives so possibly. It doesn't explain the light shining down on it in several episodes. Unless that's sunlight.

It was also able to drive in Merdude's episode, it flat out drives over to Atlantis to attack it.

I think the plant that grabbed the Technodrome eventually let go of it and threw it in the air and it landed on the hill.

I do wonder how the Technodrome got out of that black hole (from The Wrath of the Rat King) and onto planet Bellerophon.

The Technodrome was just outside New York City in Attack Of The Neutrinos, so it came from the Arctic Ocean all the way to the New York ocean by then.

In terms of the Technodrome arriving in New York from Dimension X before season 1, it may have gone through a portal under the Hudson/East River before plowing under Manhattan, since there are no large caves there, just subway/sewer tunnels.

There was one episode in Season 6 that gave an exact latitude/longitude for the Technodrome, where it was somewhere around or just below the Arctic Circle. Atlantis is also believed to be just a few hundred miles of the east coast of the US. That may have justified Season 7's uptick in action in that with the Technodrome close to the city, the bad guys could make more efficient, logistical plans to attack.

Now I assume that once the plant threw the Technodrome and crashed it, Shredder/Krang simply fled and headed toward a Rock Soldier base. Who knows if the Foot Soldiers, Roadkill Rodneys, and even Bebop/Rocksteady survived the plant attack after being thrown, since they don't have good armor compared to Shredder/Krang.

Must have been a very strong plant-creature if so.

Don't get me started on that one!! You thought the Technodrome was completely trapped in the ocean when all of a sudden it's moving in that episode. If they could do that, they could've easily driven up to the city sooner than they did.

There's also some inconsistency with where they were in the ice. Most of the time the Technodrome was lodged in that deep cavern/cave of ice at all times.

But then in other episodes the Technodrome is just "on top" of the ice with no cave walls surrounding them. I realize some of this is because in "The Ice Creature Cometh" they break free of the walls but new ice freezes them in place, but the eps are inconsistent because they were all written at the same time.

I think Dave Wise's intention when writing Season 4 was that thing the Technodrome smashed into at the end of Season 3 was the Volcanic Asteroid. When "Plan 6 From Outer Space" begins it's pretty clear that mere moments have passed since "The Big Blow Out". The Rock Soldier forces are just flying off and if I remember rightly Krang even repeats his line "stop you fools it's us". The Turtles are also outside Channel 6.

The fact that the metallic looking world looks nothing like the asteroid and it's daytime on Earth I would put down to quirks of working with differing antimation studios and general 80's cartoon discontinuity.

This need a bump right now. But if this is another part of the same Dimension X as in the Nicktoon where the Kraang posess several Technodromes, does this meen that Krang's Technodrome first crashed into another Technodrome?

My headcanon at the time of watching "Plan 6" was the metallic planet the Technodrome crashed on was destroyed by more rockets and it ended up being propelled towards the volcanic asteroid where it finally settled.

As for the daytime scenes outside Channel Six...not so much a deal breaker in that you could simply say it was the morning after and the Turtles and April had spent the whole evening clearing things up with the military and covering the story.

I believe the first scens are set during the progressing month and year. I also like the cantina of "Dimension X Story" which seems to be located on the same rock as the Technodrome (maybe on the opposite side since there were palmtrees also there).
