A friend of mine brought this idea up to me, and my first reaction was. "Pff, that's ridicoulus!"

But erh..

TMNT and Kung-fu Panda are both being made by nick.. they have the same style of animation, they have similiar feels. And most importantly, the turtles has been known to hop-scotch into different dimensions just because they can.

Not going to lie, I would by far prefer another Usagi cross-over, but.. this I guess could be sort of fun to.

Mostly I just dread Master Splinter and Master Shifu actually meeting.. all their students would be so doomed.

no. As much I like Kung fu panda, I really don't want this happening, because if it did, it would be GOD-AWFUL.

I have more faith than that.

Simply because.. Kung-fu panda is a genuinly good show, with genuinly good writing.

TMNT is a genuinly good show with genuinly good writing. If they just use the writers from either of those shows it would be fine.

The episode would by no means be great or any-thing like that.. no it wouldn't. But I think it would be rather amusing with some memorable moments.
Kind of like "The pulveriser." which was not meant to be a great episode, but just some down-time to relax before we move on to bigger things again.

Unlikely to happen, because even though it's technically made by Nick Animation Studios KFP:LOA is a Dreamworks property. Nick has done cross-overs before but it's always been between shows that are wholly owned by them (Jimmy Timmy Power Hour specials and that godawful Wild Thornberrys/Rugrats movie).

I do find it curious though how many similarities I suddenly spot between the shows like.

Their use of hand-drawn still pictures in any flash-back.
The way they portray their fighting, seems very similar.
Then of cause the more obvious about the asien vibe and it being about students of a martial arts teacher.

But you know, if they used exsperience they had from creating the Kung fu Panda show, to create the TMNT show, i'm okay with that, that's cool, as long as both shows are good.

Hmm, good point though. I could still imagine them doing some-thing like that for the commercial stunt, to drag viewers from one show over to the other, that has been a very common thing to do.

I dont know how it works with dream-works and so on, but well, just saying.

I'd like to see the turtles show up on KFP, but I don't want TMNT wasting any of its precious 26 episodes per season on a poor man's Usagi crossover.

IDK.....if I'd want to see that....but if it happens I'd watch it :3

TMNT in Kungfu Panda episode = yes.
Kungfu Panda in TMNT episode = no. It'll be obnoxious with Po being clumsy and all.

That is all.

If an episode like that were made, it'd be a laughing stock for decades.

Man, this thread gave me a serious déjà vu feeling.

I'd love to see a DTV movie with KFP meeting the TMNT, hopefully the TMNT ending up in KFP world, maybe even Penguin cameo.

I hope to god Nick's TMNT never crosses over with any of Nick's other shows. The last thing we need is Spongebob showing up on an episode of TMNT.

No. Like others have said, I don't want to waste one of our 26 episodes on something like this.

Only Usagi.

Yep, only Usagi.

I hope Nick will negotiate with Stan Sakai for Usagi reappearance. I think they haven't met him yet (?), but if they did, do a follow up. He might change his mind.

but if there ends up being no usagi, then, yeah...kung fu panda would be cool. why not? sh!t is fun! i think the good quality of both shows speak volumes.

it wouldn't be a hard core gritty samurai tale, but that wouldn't fit this version's vibe anyway (and the way they'd most likely use usagi would anger purists anyway...). a fun 2-parter, where each part is an episode of each franchises show. also, that way, in a roundabout fashion, we'd have an extra nick turtle adventure that season. but then i'm in the camp that believes any idea can be good as long as the execution is done well.

That would be amazing!

I mean, what's not to love about it? KFP: Awesome! TMNT: Awesome!

Like, Kung Fu Panda goes into an interdimensional vortex and ends up in an episode of TMNT? Weird, stupid, and waste of an episode as others have pointed out.

More the other way, or we'll just get a bunch of stupid "medieval guy meeting modern day" jokes. Cause they are always fun, like in Beastmaster 2.

I'd rather have Usagi than Po (even when KFP is a good cartoon).

I found the first Kung Fu Panda to be quite a disappointment, and I've never seen the sequel or show, but with the show's current tone a crossover wouldn't be much of a stretch. On the other hand, though, it wouldn't really add any sort of character dynamic the series doesn't already have. If it's just at some alternate dimension like the Battle Nexus, though, it should be fine.

As much as I love KFP and TMNT, I doubt they'll do a crossover of sorts. It just doesn't seem likely.

well, thats seems like exactly the same type of thing they'd do with usagi. which would be cool too. i just figured if they couldnt get permission, then why not kfp?

1. All ten Dimentions lead to a different universe or incarnation of the ninja turtles lore. I.E. Dimension X, OT Dimention, Mirage Dimention... Confirmed by Auman

2. Stan Sakai has said that Usagi will be on the nick show. There is an entire thread confirming this. We haven't seen what he looks like yet, most likely because they want it to be a surprise.

3. As other people have pointed out, KFP is property of Dreamworks, nick just has the rights to feature the show. Usagi's world is similar to Po's in that it has animals as people in an ancient Asian setting

Points 1 and 2 contradict each other with the current information. Usagi Yojimbo is not part of the Ninja Turtle dimension. All crossovers between the two previously have stated they are separate.

Maybe Usagi comes out of their show within a show. Maybe he's a mutant in this version or like wingnut is part of a comic book.

Or perhaps it is one of the ten dimensions because Dimension X is just the world of the Kraang, which is a place within the Turtles universe but not a place where a version of the Turtles exist.

All we know is there are 10 dimentions

1 2012 verse
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9
10 Dimention X

And somewhere in 2-9 is the OT Verse, and Turtles Prime AKA Mirage Verse.

So that leaves six left open and with Auman all the dimensions are connected to the Turtle lore or an incarnation of the Turtles.

So that would mean that Usagi's universe and possibly the Moo Mesa Universe also would each be one of the 10 dimensions. Because even though it is a separate universe it is a universe that still exists in TMNT lore.

I'm not for or against Po showing up, I'm just saying your argument against his appearance is not very solid.

KFP is still DreamWorks property not officially Nicks. They are only airing KFP because Viacom has a contract with Dreamworks to do so.

The closest we would get to have having Kung Fu Panda in the show would be Panda Khan.

Remember when everyone said that Usagi would never appear on this show because Stan himself said it would never happen? I do, because I was one of those that said it. I mean, Stan Sakai himself said it! There's no better source than that. But then, apparently, an agreement was made. Granted, it hasn't aired yet and anything can happen (remember this line, it's going to come up again), but two properties, owned by two different people/companies, are going to appear on the same show. Usagi, whom Viacom had absolutely no part of, will appear on TMNT.

Now, Viacom does not own KFP, that is correct, but they do have their hand in the pot, so to say. They could very easily go to Dreamworks and tell them they want Po to appear in an episode or they aren't going to air any more episodes and whatever they may be under contract to still air will be moved to Tuesday's at 10, when the target audience will be in school.

I would much rather see Panda Kahn, simply because he was one of my favorite figures as a child, but Po fits the overall theme of the series better. (Or maybe not, I am under the impression that Kahn is A LOT more serious, but I've admittedly never read any of his comics.)

All I'm saying is, unless Viacom says the show has been canceled and the last episode that will air was the super shredder episode, that anything can happen.

It's still very unlikely that KFP would cross over with the TMNT. The only reason Usagi's gonna is because it's been done before, Usagi's independently owned so there's not much trouble with getting him to appear (as opposed to KFP, which is owned by a company that would have to make a big group decision), and because Stan's a cool guy.

Well he too is owned by different folks, so it's all the same. Dave Garcia has had a decent amount of history with the TMNT though. He's done easily as much turtle work as Stan, maybe more, though as far as I know, toyline aside, PK never did have a crossover with the green guys.
