Tried searching for an old thread about this but it appears that this hasn't been posted before. I just found it while searching animatronics stuff on youtube. It's amazing to see something "new" after all these years :-)

Thanks so much for posting this! I saw this at the time (I was allowed to stay up late to watch this as it was originally on around 11 p.m.) and I'd always wished I'd taped it - the behind the scenes look almost made up for the bad review the movie got...

Wow! Thanks for posting this! It never ceases to amaze me all the work that went into producing those films. :D

WOW thanks for posting this rare footage I have never seen this before and always look for more behind the scenes footage. This shows a lot of the TMNT II SOTO suits I am hoping the TMNT DOC coming out has footage like this from the first movie :-)

It was really cool getting to see a sneak peek at the storyboards for the Raph-Casey scene. I really would love to see the complete storyboards for the films!

Great find, thanks for sharing some non-known information about how production toward SoTO went. If it weren't for Sesame Street/Muppets/Fraggle Rock, TMNT may have been remembered for little more than another cartoon of its era on the level of Thundercats or Captain Planet, so many people were involved and to have only a year between movies, that was quite an effort the staff provided.

This is super amazing footage! Never saw it before. I love this stuff! It is almost the biggest reason why I started the doc, but for me I wanted to find the first movie history, I am happy to say that we have found some pretty amazing stuff on the road, and the movie history stuff in our doc will cover the first movie almost exclusively. The behind the scenes stuff, story boards, photos and then the interviews make it a pretty special section!

Good to hear. While I would love to hear some behind the scenes backstory on the sequels, I'm definitely more interested in the first film's behind the scenes story. :)

Great post! Pleeeeease let the Jim Henson creature shop be involved with the new Star Wars movies.

Not to make this a stars wars thread and as no disrespect to Henson, as I love the company, but personally I'd love to see Stan Winston studios tackle Star Wars! They are amazing! Henson is of course amazing in their own right, but I'm not sure if there are many movies they have done recently that are as "realistic" effects heavy as the turtle films.

In response to the Sargent we have backstory on the other movies if that content doesn't make it into the main doc, then I'm sure it will be in the cut scenes archives.

Well Said, and I am more then excited for the Documentary to come out when can I place my order ;-)

So the actual masks are sculpted to keep the bandanas in place, eh? Nice.
