The soundtrack for Red Sky started in Season 7?

Did anyone else notice this? I've been watching Season 7 eps like, "Convicts from Dimension X" and, "The Starchild" and a lot of the music from Seasons 8-10, or that people associate with Lord Dregg music cues....were actually in Season 7.

It's hard to describe, but that, "Lord Dregg alien theme" is actually played during these two episodes. Probably because both also dealt with aliens. Some of the action music cues from the last few seasons are also in Season 7. There's also that alien, "Do do, DOO" BGM in it too when a scene changes.

Its funny, because if Seasons 8-10 kept the same animation style as Season 7 but used the music and regular action, it would seem like no difference.

Season 7 (at least the non-European episodes) was the start towards a more action oriented series. The music changed and some stayed for the Red Sky seasons and the fight scenes were even better, more like the first two seasons. I never considered the part about the "Lord Dregg theme". I may have to go back and watch them again. One of my favorite seasons anyways. :)

Yeah a lot of new music was composed for Season 7. I just finished watching Seasons 5 and 6 before and that mainly re-used music from the first 3 seasons.

Every season had some new music introduced, while gradually removing music from earlier seasons as the series progressed. However, none of the music introduced in Season 7 was used in Season 10. The most prominent of those Season 7 cues is probably the one associated with the one used when the Channel 6 building blew up, starting out rather calm but building in tension and then ending with that remix of the Baxter with the garbage can (what I call "trouble ahead" on my Youtube channel) cue, thus the association with Red Sky. It seems that in order of new cues introduced, I'd rank them as (from most to least):

-Season 1
-Season 4
-Season 8
-Season 7
-Season 3
-Season 2
-Season 10
-Season 6
-Season 9
-Season 5

There were also a couple cues only used in Season 7. The European Vacation episodes don't use any Season 7 music, but do use music up through Season 6 indicating that the post-production did take place in 1992 just like the copyright of those episodes, despite having the scripts written in 1990. Oddly it used a Season 1 cue that never appeared in Season 6 in the episode Artless
(the one first used in A Thing About Rats when Donatello covers Baxter with the garbage can).

I noticed it as soon as I saw a season 7 episode for the first time since before watching the Red Sky episodes. I watched Night of the Dark Turtle and I immediately noticed music that was from Turtle Trek. Then I saw more of season 7 and noticed a lot more red sky music.

There actually is a little bit of music from seasons 5 and 6 that were played in red sky. In Turtle Trek, when that plant monster grabbed the Technodrome with its tentacles and put in in the hole, the music that played was actually introduced in season 6. In HAVOC In The Streets, after Titanis said he is the master of disaster when the next scene goes to street level, then the sewers, that music was introduced in season 5.

Also, the original theme song music played in A Turtle In Time when Landor and Merrick traveled back in time to get the past turtles.
