Hey everyone. I stumbled across this site while trying to research TMNT Lego prices and I'm quite glad I did! Anyway, I'm 31 and quite literally grew up obsessed with the Turtles. I watched the show everyday after school, owned (and unforunately sold) all the original figures, and am trying to grow a new collection again of all things Turtles. My wife, whose collection of DBZ and Hello Kitty is a bit staggering, is thankfully supportive of me picking through antique malls and garage sales in my quest. We have a nearly 4-year-old daughter who already enjoys playing with some of my toys and watching the cartoons.
I just got the Lego Turtle Lair Attack and Shredder's Dragon Bike, but I have many other various and sundry bits, including:
- all four Classic Collection figures
- one or two of the mini Turtle figures that I found at a Dollar Tree many years ago
-the hardcover original TMNT: The Ultimate Collection Volume 1 that took nearly four months for Amazon to locate and ship
- the Coming out of their Shells tour tape from Pizza Hut, which was so awesome
- quite a bit more random things
I picked up on the 2003 cartoon right around when "The Lost Season" was airing on 4Kids, and am watching through the entire series a second time now. I think it's one of the best animated series ever made, and the voicework, although featuring a lot of 4Kids' multi-purpose actors, is extremely well-done.
I'm having a hard time enjoying the new series, since so much is different, but I am working on getting some of the new figures.
My hobbies include cars (in particular, 80's and 90's Japanese cars and European ones of all decades), metal (of the death variety), and, of course, cartoons. I still get up on Saturday mornings to watch them.
I apologize for the long post, but I thought any introduction might as well be thorough. Thanks for having me!
