is the lionsgate's rights expired for Teenage Mutant ninja turtles original series on DVD in complete series and season sets? Will they license the teenage mutant ninja turtles original series to another company to get the rights of either Shout! Factory or another company.

Depends if Lionsgate is willing to sell the license to Nick or not.

Well the episodes of the OT on Youtube no longer have the Lionsgate blocked warning, so it appears that their distribution period has ended, and I now consider the OT DVD's out of print. That said, they've come down in price thanks to the complete set (around $60-$70 for a complete series as opposed to $100-$125 about six months ago). Like the 4kids series, Nick hasn't yet taken a good hold on syndicating these classics. I honestly don't expect any future video releases since like we've talked before, the OT (and even 4kids) is not Blu-Ray viable in terms of quality along with the fact that digital media is upon us and will remain the standard until the end of time.

Should Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Original Series get licensed to Shout! Factory?

No, but the 4kids series should. That's the series in desperate need of a re-release.

The original animated series is also in desperate need of a re-release. Inferior video quality, messed up DVD episode placement and numbering, inconsistent artwork, and severe lack of extras more than justify it.

I'd love to have Shout give it proper justice. Lionsgate crapped all over it.
