Hello guys! How do you think will Shredder and Krang take part in the new episodes of TMNT? do you have some information about this topic
thanks a lot
Lana.
Well, we know for sure that Krang will not be in the new series. We're not sure yet about Shredder, we don't have details about the show, like supporting cast, villians, storylines, and the like. My guess is that he will be, or at least I hope he will.

I think Shredder will be included (since he wasn't killed off in the first caroon eps). This is what the line up at the Toon Zone site sez:

*shrug* I remembered seeing that link posted on the TMNT-L too.
Yeah, I saw the article, I posted the link in the New TMNT Discussion board. The mention of Shredder just slipped by me.

Heh heh heh...I posted that on the main page of the Technodrome a few days ago. Oh, and btw, even though Shredder wasn't killed off in the last toon, there's still a possibility that the new toon Shredder won't be Oroku Saki. I guess it all depends on what comic book series (and where in the timeline) they decide to base the toon off of.
*crosses fingers and hopes there won't be any eps based off of the Image run*
Doubtful. Image has gone the way of The Next Mutation, never again to be used in a Mirage project.

Good. I don't want to see the first episode with Don as a cyborg, Leo missing a hand, and Raph with half his face blown off.
They couldn't do that in a children's cartoon anyway.

That's a good thing :anime:

Yeah... Laird said he would only take from Mirage storyline for this new cartoon (and elements from the old cartoon too, I suppose).

all i hope is that they keep to their original roots, and don't leave the previous cartoon in the past

I hope Shredder is in it. I probably won't see the next mutation, probably be out working when it comes on and all but hopefully it sticks to it's roots of what made it success.

I don'tknow if i'm right but i think that without Shredder this cartoon wouldn't be so popular. He is the bes bad guy i have ever seen. He's really cute. love him;-))

Yep, Shredder rules though I wouldn't call him cute. Maybe he is... uhhh... can't find the proper word... charming?

The bald guy in the TMNT movies, Shredder's lackey... or whatever you'd like to call him...
Oh... didn't you say in another post that you never got the films over there?

I would like to the original cast of bad guys in the newer series. I always enjoyed watching Krang, Shredder, and Bebop and Rocksteady. Dregg on the other hand the series could do without. Besides... TMNT just isn't TMNT without Krang Shredder and Bebop and Rocksteady.

*thinks she could live w/o Rocksteady and Bebop at least*
azure turtle

But I like Bebop and Rocksteady! I thought they were funny...
Yes, but I don't think they'd fit in well, as they were, in the new "darker" series.
HorseTechie

Yeah.. I can see Shredder and Krang happening, but heh... do we have to have bumbling baffoons too? *backs away from Azure, et al*
Didn't Peter say he wasn't going to use Krang? That leaves just Shredder.

I have to agree, I hope that they find someone else for Bebop and Rocksteady. Every series needs the evil yet stupid lackeys, but those two...well, let's just say you don't want to know what I think should've been done to them at times. *evil grin*

They were cool in the first episodes, when they were really tough (though still stupid.) But as the series went on they got stupider and weaker. Just pathetic.

Once again, a true understatement.

Aww...but I admire their persistance  You bring up a good point, Kali. Because the new 'toon will be aiming for a "darker" feel, Bebop and Rocksteady probably won't fit in. But I'd at least like to see them make an appearance in one episode...maybe in cameo roles? While we're on the subject of who might be on the new show...I say give Ace Duck more air time! Not only is he one of the greatest heroes of all time, but he's a former Intergalactic Wrestling champion!
*gets excited*

I dont know how you work that out. Bebop and Rocksteady could easily addapt to the more darker series, just like they did in the red sky season, and more when the first season where they were very aggresive and weren't stupid.
im spot on with you azure, as i also liked them very much. However im 100%

I like Bebop, and Rocksteady... but I don't think they'll fit, either... they're a little goofy
I wonder what other baddies will be introduced, though... surely it won't just be the Shredder...?

Hrmm... Baxter? As in the evil African-American scientist from the early Mirage series? (Or are they still too PC to portray him as such?)
Loolaa
05-22-2002, 11:35 AM
... yeah.. or if they're being overly pc, a character resembling his... then we can see a cartoon robot Baxter, too as in vol 2..
azure turtle

Baxter? So would they re-introduce April as his assistant? Which brings another point up...are they going to acknowledge the old cartoon, or are they starting from scratch?

hrmmm... that's a Q we should ask Berger and or Laird, you think?

I do like B&R but, question. What was their purpose in teh cartoon anyway? I mean they were like stupid idiots, why even use them?
I kinda wonder now why Shredder couldn't have leathal and mean mutants. And I wonder why he NEVER got rid of them after all the times they failed him. I know he was short-staffed and all, plus he did say that several times in the series, but still.
As for Krang, I think it would cool to include him once again, and maybe have some of the old cartoon roots like the technodrome. After all, Krang sounded and was drawn cool back in the first few episodes in 1987. It was later on in like 1989 when he started getting whiny and stuff and when he didn't have as many *borrrrghs* (hiccups) in his voice.
And good call HT, maybe they outta bring a tad bit of the movies into it as well, an animated Tatsu perhaps? But then, I dunno if Krang and the Technodrome would fit in then. Hmmmm. Oh well, just an idea.
*wonders what April will be like also*

Perhaps we should write Dan...I wonder if he knows any of the details yet. I bet April and Casey will be in the new cartoon...especially if they're going by the comic book. Casey and April are major supporting charcters for our team in green.

i just feel that they the old cartoon and the new one should connect. It would be stupid if there is now two different versions of the turtles.
They already did that withthe movies. And now they may do it with the cartoon as well.
At this point there are so many versions and universes of the Turtles, a few more won't hurt. I would like a whole new approach. Another universe for this writer to play in!

Hmm...I wouldn't mind if the new cartoon didn't mention the old cartoon. As Kali said, another turtle "universe" would be cool.

I don't mind if it doesn't mention the old cartoon either... as long as it's Mirage related, I'm happy

Well!;-) I must say that Bebop and Rocksteady won't be very popular without Shredder. They are a part of Oroku Saki, the part of this unique and unusual world. I also hope that the new cartoon will be kind and nice without any violence. May be it may seem funny to you but i'm against the death of cartoon's heroes.I want them all to be alive: and Shredder and Baxter and other bad guys. We have so many problems nowadays so it would be so nice to enjoy a new funny and cute cartoon without any affliction. What do you say;-)?

I completely agree with you, Lana. I was always shocked when someone died in cartoons. Not because the death was so terrible (I mean bloody). Just because it was unexpected. Children should not get used to death, that's what I think.

I totally agree with the no death thing, but the no violence at all? These are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles we're talking about. Martial arts and fighting is a big part of the idea.
We may not get blood and death (and I honestly hope we don't, keep that for the comic book) but this is not going to be a cutsy teen-misadventure show.
Terran
05-27-2002, 05:18 PM
heh heh..."...teen-misadventure"?
Sounds like the fic Popcorn minus the cutsey part.
*wonders if new cartoon writers will read fanfiction to get ideas.....*
Never mind. Raph and Mike playing truth or dare? Scary thought.
Heh heh, there would be trouble if the writers took ideas from fan fics without the fic writer's permission. We may not own the characters, but we do have a right to the ideas. It would be cool if the company contacted someone and said "We'd like to used your idea from such-and-such story..."
As for the "teen-misadventure" I was thinking along the lines of Braceface and Pepper Ann and those types of shows. Normal kids overcoming normal problems. Maybe for a scene or subplot or something, but not an entire show, and definitely not the entire series.
That's just my opinion though.

Hmm...I don't want to sound bloodthirsty here, but I think the new cartoon should have violence. Ninjitsu plays such a big part in the turtles' lives...but I agree about the "no death" thing. That should be saved for the comics and the new movie.

Yeah, I heard Dawnatello and a few other TMNT fans with 'connections' mention on the lists awhile back confirm that Eastman, Laird, Berger, etc. do not read our fanfics... especially for plot ideas. If a coincidence does happen... it truly is a coincidence.
