Very comedic and well produced. Apparently the Turtle doesn't give a try with mozzarella and tomatoes. Too bad they didn't use a paper Shredder with shredded documents instead of lettuce. Poor Splinter though.

That was funny! But I didn't think the TMNT mutated from red-eared sliders.

I got told real quick that's canon....I don't see it, but whatever.

canon in Mirage and the live action movies.
In Nick show Don mused that they might be Diamond backs, so generally they are at least terrapins in most incarnations. besides IDW I suppose, since they got flippers as normal turtles

I saw a Diamondback years ago and it was rather large, so they wouldn't fit the deliberately ridiculous idea of small harmless turtles mutating into tough fighters. Large turtles such as snappers or sea turtles are certainly not harmless and are actually dangerous. (The episode "Turtles, Turtles Everywhere" demonstrates this.) Though the Diamondback I saw wasn't aggressive, it would have hardly been suited for a family pet. Disposition-wise, I don't know how Diamondbacks are.
