So... Nightwatcher! In the Nick show. Could he work?
I kinda liked the 2007 movie, despite there being a lot I disliked... Yet, among the little things that I LOVED about it, was the concept of Nightwatcher.
Do you think at some point it would be possible for him to make an appearance? (Wether through Raphael or through someone else?)
Even if it was for one or two episodes, I´d really love to see Nightwatcher in action. I'm just a sucker for ball+chain weapons (thanks, Kill Bill!), and I love Biker armors (thank you, Mach Rider!). So this concept was a complete win to me.
So... any thoughts? :) And how would you make it work?

For one episode, maybe. And that's all.

I don't want it. Didn't like it at all. I'm fine with Raph going off and doing the whole Casey Jones thing, but as is. Meaning, no freakin' costume or dumb name.

Alright man, no need to be an asshole about it

One episode will be enough, I guess. My only problem with that is it'd be too 80's-ish (every problem solved in one episode's time span).
But I get reading between lines that what you mean is Nightwatcher not being worth more than one episode. But one episode, or a cameo at least, is fine by me.
Though it doesn't HAVE to be Raph. Might as well be the same old guy (perhaps in his younger form?) from the prequel comic. Heck, perhaps even an inspiration/former rival to Casey, or an in-show movie that inspired Casey to become a vigilante.
Any sort of cameo will do. :tsmile:
As for the dumb name... Dogpound... Fishface... Shredder... Splinter... Snakeweed.... Spiderbites... Leatherhead... COME ON.:trolleye:

Personally that was one of my favorite things in the 2007 movie. The scene between Leo and Raph being the other. I don't know how it would work in the series though, if it were well written I'd be all for it.

I kinda think that if the Nightwatcher was introduced, it'll be a one shot episode sort of like "The Unconvincing Turtle Titan"
Speaking of... ya think they might go that route with Mikey?

My idea.. have Raphael use the suit in one episode
then in a later one it is brought back in the style of Red X from Teen Titans

As we know, TMNT 2007 took place later in the lives of the turtles when leo was not around to keep raph balanced. part of why raph did the whole nightwatcher thing was to deal with leo's absence in his own way. it doesn't feel like the kind of thing, especially long-term, that raph would engage in when all of the brothers are still together.
i would be okay with them doing a story where raph does something similar to it to sort of set up his loner-inclined nature but I'm not sure how I feel about seeing him slip away and play batman several times a season.
all that matters to me is the writing and the designs of his alternative "nightwatcher" suit, if both of them check out then sure.

No, I wouldn't want that for this show. Maybe an homage or brief cameo of someone wearing the suit or it being featured on one of Raph's comic books would be enough.

the Nightwatcher was stupid the first time, so no thank you.
Raphael don't need a costume to go solo
I loved the idea of the nightwatcher and would like to see him back in any TMNT incarnation as long as the "lesson" learned and set up is different than the 2007 movie.

While I'm not entirely convinced the Nightwatcher persona would really fit all that well in the Nick show, I did enjoy it in the 2007 movie; if they could come up with an interesting way to write a story around it, I'd be for it. But I wouldn't want them to try and write it in just to have another "previous incarnation of TMNT" reference.
Pulverizer should become Nightwatcher. He and Nobody should team up.

I love love the 2k7 movie, but I cannot see Nick's Raph as Nightwatcher.

I actually think one of the Turtles donning a costume to do vigilante work out of frustration makes a lot more sense than most fans give it credit for. Nightwatcher is one of the concepts from the 2007 film that's really grown on me.
That said, is the Nick show the right universe for it? Probably not.
But I wouldn't want them to try and write it in just to have another "previous incarnation of TMNT" reference.

I really wouldn't be too thrilled to have it in this series. So far Raph hasn't shown any sort of inclination that he genuinely wants to tear away from his family for good and without something huge happening in his life like Leo abandoning his family for well over a year, I don't know what could cause Raph to think he too would have to turn his backs on them instead of turn to them for support. I feel like he has enough of an outlet going out with Casey (well, not this season but I don't doubt it'll happen) to vent his frustrations and all when he needs some time away from his bros, and the Nightwatcher takes it to a whole other level that just doesn't feel appropriate for this version of him.
As for someone else picking up the suit, blah...just kind of turns him into another "baddie of the week" and loses his charm.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the nightwatcher costume kinda looks like a swat suit?:tconfuse:

If Casey comes onto the show and is doing the vigilantism thing and becomes close friends with Raphael like in the other universes... I could conceivably see Raphael donning the Nightwatcher motif to go and do patrols with him and all that.
