Am I breaking forum rules if I defend myself in a civil way? Meaning if someone insults or makes a rude comment about a post I make can I defend myself without taking it to far? Just wondering.

Honestly, the best thing to do is just ignore those kind of posters. If someone is honestly insulting you, just report them to the mods- they'll get what's coming to em ;)
And don't let it get to you, most of the people here are very nice and feel the same way you do about those kind of posters

Yeah Zak, its best to just put them on ignore and keep it moving. Like Shreddhead said, the ratio of Good posters outweigh the bad.

But there are still trolls... ancient ones that have crept' about the 'Drome since time immemorial and the only way to slay such entities such as those is with your Lance of Ignore. Use it well young knight!

Sometimes you just have to weigh if it's just really worth it. I mean we are all just random people on the internet and would probably never see each other normally.

Like the above posters said, it's best to ignore usually (I'm not saying I'm perfect :P). Since we're in such a devoted fan forum, you have to discern sometimes with users if they are just strongly opinionated (because of that fandom) and inadvertently come off abrasive (which is much more likely), or if they really are mean-spirited (which I highly doubt, and probably are very few).

Perfect example is how passionate I got in the Eastman Talks Bay thread. It gives you a great example of when and where you pick your battles.

No I don't mean u. I know u were jokin. So was I when I responded. I was just asking. Thanks to everyone for their answers. I just don't want to break any rules. I enjoy this site. I will ignore whoever has something bad to say. After all Im on this to talk with tmnt fans, not argue with them.

I would advise against defending yourself, because on the internet no one wants to be wrong so the fights go on forever. Really, you have more constructive things to do than fight with some stranger. Put them on ignore or report them.

Comin from u I will take your advice. You seem to have been on this site for ages and you know how it works here. And I agree fighting with someone is pointless. I will just ignore. It's not worth it.
