This is a difficult question... I love the Nickelodeon theme, but at the same time the original theme is iconic and I really like the "Back to the Sewer" theme. :tconfuse:

I didn't vote because I like all of them to some degree. I think the only theme I didn't like was Fast Forward's. BTTS's theme was okay though. The 87 theme is very iconic and the one I remember the most. The Nick theme is awesome, too.

While the OT one is classic, I really love the Nickelodeon 2k12 one.

I feel that the newer song is well-sorted, and it puts more thought into introducing the characters. Instead of, "Leonardo leads" (which I thought was small compared with the others like "Michelangelo is a party dude), we have, "Leonardo is the leader in blue. Does everything it takes to get his ninjas through." Every character is introduced at the same rhythm. I like that.:tsmile:

I came to this thread whilst humming the tune to the S9 theme in my head. The somewhat slower, grungier version of the original.

It's difficult, coz I kinda like the lot of them. Yes, even FF. I find myself singing along whichever ones comes on, except BTTS, as it is too fast..
The Nick tune is catchy and fun, but I guess it's hard to not think that the original is still the best.

I figured most would go for the Fred Wolf '87 tune, and while it is a classic, I voted for Nick's instead. It takes its cues from the '87 tune and gives it a flavor that really suits the show, while I felt the the 2k3 one was trying too hard, and the lyrics were a bit lame.

I too like the OT opening and the Nick opening equally, so I voted Nick since it had fewer overall votes. The original is just super catchy and fun while the Nick version is a cool revamp.

...and maybe I'm weird, but I actually kind of like the Next Mutation theme, lol. Wouldn't have voted for it anyway, but even after I stopped watching the show I would usually stick around for the song after whatever program came before it. It's not all that good, per se, but it's darn catchy!

Seems weird that there's no choice for alternate songs from the same series (2nd OT opening and FF and BTTS) either, but I suppose these are the three most likely to get votes.

Gotta go with the OT because the instrumental track and simple catchy chorus is just iconic. The guitar riffs, drum machine, and synthesizers are just awesome and encapsulate some of energy of the glam metal sound of that time (late '80s).

The Nick version has good lyrics, probably better in terms of lyrical depth when describing the Turtles, but it's NOT completely original in terms of using the same OT chorus lyrics. (So that's why I couldn't go with Nick. It seemed like they used the OT song as a template of sorts.)

As for 2K3, ugh... While the story writing and series is good, the intro song leaves much room for improvement. It's such an eye-roller when I hear the "Turtles" do this and that roll-call (chain reaction, never let us down, ninjitsu action) and that annoying "1, 2, 3, 4!" part. Really?? Counting? As if we didn't know there were 4 Turtles already, not just from the franchise, but in the first few seconds of the intro scenes itself! I mean counting, ...5 times in the intro? :lol: I mean is this intro sponsored by Sesame Street/PBS Kids in learning how to count? :lol:

Leave the "1, 2, 3, 4" counting to Coolio, Okay 2K3 TMNT? ROFL :P:

Nothing really beats the classic 87 intro but the Nick cartoon one is pretty nice and the 2003 intro isn't completely terrible, it's actually pretty catchy. But I don't think there will ever be a better TMNT intro than the 87 one.

I really want to like the new Nick theme, but the vocals sounds so uninspired, theres no soul in their singing/rapping.

The theme for the 80s series is without a doubt my favorite TV theme song, as well as one of my all time favorite TV theme songs.

I also like the one for the current version, and the one for the first five seasons of the 2003 series is pretty good too.

Remember when we had a few possible theme songs for Back to the Sewer and how we got to vote on them? You can hear them in the video below, and the first one you hear is the one I voted for.

I don't think that the original can ever be forgotten,but I have to say they did do a great job with the Nick version.
