There is something off with her face in those pictures. I can't figure what it is though, I just assume its her lips since everyone in the comment section said she had plastic surgery there. Any well known actress is going to look like that actress made up differently. Its whether they act well enough for us to suspend our disbelief so we stop thinking its Megan Fox.

April has never been consistent from version to version. Even in the original Mirage comic she had a vastly different look and personality from issue to issue in the first year. I think April is one of those characters that they can get away with reintepreting.

Those pictures don't really give much away but I like her "look" here, if this is indicative of how she'll look during most of the movie. While a glammed up April wouldn't have been unwelcome this gives off the vibe that she's a normal woman who gets pulled into the bizarre TMNT world...and looks like Megan Fox.

The OT April was a 30 something reporter that cared mostly about her job and had ginormous cleavage on display. That sounds more like the 'sexy go-getter' you don't want.

Still not crazy about the casting, as April's generally better off not being portrayed as a bombshell type (which, let's face it, is what Fox is typecast for). But as long as the scenes with her character aren't as blatantly sexualized and creepy as they were in, say, the Transformers movies, it's no big.

The only way April is a red head in the OT is if you squint. Perhaps the coloring of some of the weaker animation studios have her hair a red tint but that's it.

The 4kids series was the first universe to truly debut red head April. Just goes to show you some of the things 4kids did had a lasting affect on the franchise, such as this and making Karai into Shredder's daughter and Hun.

It's sexist because there are no gratuitously sexual shots focused on any of the movie's male characters, but a metric f*ck ton focused around its one real female one.

Wow, I actually think the masks are pretty cool looking since I can definitely see them as actually supposed to BE masks in the movie and not the actual faces of the guys wearing them. Sort of a weird, artistic move that'd work out pretty well if it's done right.

And I'm pretty excited that April is a reporter and not a scientist, but more excited that Megan looks quite NORMAL. Her clothes are cute and simple, and she looks like a mature woman, not a sexed up teenager. She's pretty, but it's much more of a natural beauty that I personally like to associate with April, rather than a sex appeal that requires her to be half naked. I'll probably regret it later, but maybe Megan will do a decent job after all.

I'm very much NOT ecstatic about Megan Fox's casting in this movie, but the fewer pictures I see of her in booty shorts and a short cut t shirt bent over a car, the better.

All of her large past roles have placed her as a "sexier than you can believe" character (e.g., Transformers, Jennifer's Body, This is 40), which, in my opinion, should not be April, but these pictures don't necessarily imply that this trend will continue.

Hate on her if you want (and I do), but I don't think these pictures give you any ammo for it.

Weird, seems like more and more stuff from the leaked script is hinted at by info and photos. I did enjoy the script, as weird as it was. It's just that like... if that's the movie we're gonna get, which I'm fine with (kinda have to be), I actually would RATHER have had them keep the alien origin. It makes it feel more unique, like it's a new interpretation of the turtles. By giving you something from the old stuff, essentially tricking you into thinking it will have that classic feel, and then the whole rest of it (Schrader, etc) being slammed in your face, it feels more like an insult/bastardization.

I have to agree with Powder here. To have her running around in a yellow jumpsuit would feel forced and weird. It was almost too much having her wear that yellow raincoat in the original Turtles film. It worked out as a nice homage though.

Based on this logic, I demand a boycott of "Man Of Steel", as well as any and all future Superman films in which he wears red boots, since he clearly did NOT wear red boots in Action Comics #1. But seriously, at least having a yellow jacket or some such gives viewers of the OT and fans of some of the other media an identifiable, recognizable way to tell it is, in fact, April, or at least suggest that she's April, and not "Random Female Character #253", which is what she resembles otherwise.

It's kinda like Clark Kent usually/sometimes wearing the blue suit/red striped tie. Didn't always wear it, didn't exactly look like that at first, but it kind of became a way for the viewer/reader to tell it was, in fact, Clark Kent, and not "random suit guy with glasses". I like that he didn't JUST wear that, but I always understood and appreciated it as a visual short-hand.

Same with April wearing yellow. Not mandatory or even necessary, but it does in fact do a little extra to establish that's who it is. I wouldn't think a big deal of it, just because it wasn't *always* there. Things evolve. Besides, chicks own a million clothes, it would actually be more conspicuous to the viewer if she NEVER wore anything yellow in the entire 2-hour film, since a great deal of fans visually relate to and remember her with that look.

The Turtles will be CGI to some extent, the only question being how much. Sometimes man in suit, sometimes CGI when in action? CGI all the time? Man in suit all the time, with CGI assists for facial animation only? These questions have not been answered.

Why must you constantly champion the source material/Mirage books? You know they're going with the "definitive" or more widely known mythology. No amount of soapboxing is gonna make the Platinum Dunes people go to the Mirage books even to the extent Barron did in his film. At what point do you just say, "Screw it...this isn't my Turtles."

Regardless of what she wore on the cover of her first appearance, without some type of throwback to the cartoon show the only way to identify April as "April" in the film would be to literally exclude ALL other female characters from the entire movie. That's how generic she is. I say let her have the yellow jacket. At least it's something identifiable as "April" in some subtle way.

Who cares what she wore one time on the cover of a black n white comic, anyway? For all we know, the cover(s) is wrong and Mirage April is half-Japanese, dyes her hair pink and green, and dresses only in gaudy fire engine red. Probably not, but why should it be unthinkable she own a yellow jacket? OR a blue one, for that matter? Just because "She didn't that one very first time we saw her"? I dunno, man...

EDIT: Yeah, she looks fairly hot in the above pic, but again, in that shot, she could literally be anyone. At least the yellow jacket gives you a clue she's playing April. I'm cool with her not wearing it for the duration of the entire film, but I'm honestly glad she does at least once.

Well they have said mo-cap and Alan Ritchson said he was running around New York with Fox looking great and him having heaps of cameras on his face. Apparently they are using brand new mo-cap tech allowing the actors to be more expressive in every way. I think it is safe to assume that the Turtles will be full CGI.

Getting hung up on things like clothing color is more ridiculous than the red hair thing. All cartoon characters wear the same thing every episode. Why does that define the character's appearance decades later?

If were were talking about the Power Rangers, that'd be different. They change clothes every day, and still look the same. It's an actual pattern. Either way, these shows were made that way for children, who are easily confused. But I guess Vernon has to wear pink, now. And if there's an Irma, she better be in a blue sweater. Right. Well. Personal tastes aside, I'm not overly interested in whether the female lead they got is hot or not. Pretty people are fun to look at, I agree, but I'm much more concerned with how she'll play the role and how the role is set up to be played.

For the former concern, I have no idea. Megan Fox doesn't have a fantastic acting portfolio in my opinion, but I don't think she's horrendous and it is definitely conceivable that she could pull this one off. Really no one will know until the movie comes out or, at the very least, a trailer or two.

The latter concern we can begin to make interpretations and predictions on, however. This is why this trampoline scene kind of annoys me. It seems like we're being set up with an April who is going to be jumping on trampolines to feature her appearance as opposed to, say, an April who is doing in depth investigative journalism to feature her intellect. I suspect it's being set up so that she can break out of the cycle of bad news stories with the help of the Turtles, but that brings up problems of its own, in my opinion.

For this reason, I think the jury's still out on whether or not Fox was a good choice, but I'm starting to hear whispers in the courtroom about whether Liebesman and Bay are doing the role justice. Yeah, to an extent I agree (though I would definitely argue that there are varying degrees of the quality of "damsel in distress" acting).

But I think my point was misunderstood. I wasn't really making the point that I was worried about Megan's acting; I was making the point that I was worried about the part itself was being set up.

I am envisioning a scene where Vernon is told that he is to be working with an April O'Neil at a lifestyle reporting gig only to cut to a scene where he turns a corner and sees her slow-mo jumping on a trampoline. April is a character who has had loads of dignity in the past (even this version of April, a la the first film). I'd like to see that dignity maintained, but it seems like that's not necessarily the case here.
