Almost every version of TMNT seems to try to replace Shredder as the big bad after awhile which one did you think did the best job?

Bishop > Karai > Shokonobo > Lord Dregg > King Komodo > Dragon Lord.

Hmmm Bishop. Not a choice tho. I never read the Image comics...

Of who's listed, I honestly found myself enjoying Sh’Okanabo the most.

I thought this thread was gonna be about voice actor replacements for James Avery.

I think Jim Cummings did an admirable job, even though he hated doing the part on account of the strain the gruff voice put on his vocal chords!

Me too. I was gonna say Dorian Harewood.

Of the listed, King Komodo. Second being Sh'Okanabo. But Bishop is actually the best replacement.

Regret to say I know nothing of those characters..

None of the above. :tgrin:

They all seem to be more suited to be Power Ranger villains. If anything, they should be competition for the Shredder and not his replacement.

Only Dragon Lord feels like a PR villain since you know who produced it. However, at least with Dregg there was that arc in the final Season where he showed his superiority of him by even kidnapping him which proves how powerful of a villain Dregg was. Shokonobo (along with Darius Dun) just didn't have the charisma of any Shredder and was very bland and predictable. Komodo is a bit underappreciated coming at Mirage's darkest moment and comes in second.

I always thought Bishop or Karai were Shredder's replacement, they certainly seemed that way in Season 4.

same here... to be honest, it was a toss up between Jim, and whoever did the 1994 voice. I thought the guy in turtles forever was doing more of a james avery impression than a shredder one :), not quite the same :).

An animated Dragon Lord might be a fun idea. I had no problem with the CONCEPT of a magical dragon from the ancient past...but how it was executed didn't come off as threatening. Had a great voice too.

In terms of what we got I'd say Sh'Okanabo, in terms of potential I'd say Dragon Lord.

Lord Dregg.

King Komodo is pretty f*cking arguable as a "Shredder replacement." Mirage and Image never really seemed concerned with having a main villain, and King Komodo certainly wasn't it, even for his volume.

If you're looking for a list of non-Shredder, non-Krang big bads, Maligna, Null and Armaggon all ought to make the cut along with the others you have listed.

On that note, I give my vote to either Sh'Okanabo or Null, as I feel both were legitimate and legitimately entertaining threats, more so than the Shredders of their respective universes.

I'd say Karai.

Of the choices listed, Lord Dregg is a no brainer. Tony Jay's voice, too awesome. Had Lord Dregg appeared prior to the "red sky" era, I would most likely feel different about the character. But fortunately, that's not the case.
