I redesigned my ages old tmnt chica ^^ I tried to make her fit in with the new show a little bit, but I'm thinking of writing her with an entirely different backstory, and I'm not sure if I'm going to be changing her name or not yet.

Thank you :) It's Tria marker. I retired all of my Prismacolors once I got my hands on that brand :D

I don't use Prismacolors, honest! Not for about..uhm.. A year and a half now! I only use Tria's. I swear by them now, since they bleed half as much as the prisma's. http://www.currys.com/markers/prodinfo1.asp?SubcatID=350&catID=26
To answer other questions..
Yes, It's a Naginata.
I'm encouraging her to kick Venus' butt.
You're right Coolsux, they aren't Prisma's. And I inked and colored her on regular computer paper because I'm cheap like that. ^^
And thank everyone else for their comments. Flat chested tmnt femmes do rock, lol

Oops!
I thought you said in an older thread that you had used Primacolor markers. I guess I just remebered the marker part, and made up the rest.

Wow! That's some awesome art, Cali. I wish I wasn't broke right now so I could afford some decent markers. For now, I stick to black and white or cg coloring.
Since this is fancharacter art, here's a quick sketch I drew of my character, Friction:

Same here. Buying quality art supplies is a bit draining on the wallet, unless you're going to do it for a commissioned piece.
I prefer working with CaranD'Ache watercolor pencils lately. And yeah, mostly computer paper if they are going to end up scanned, but for pieces I'm going to sell I use watercolor paper or bristol. Both hot and cold press...
Most of the art I have online is done either starting out as a scanned sketch and then manipulated and painted digitally in some paint program or another, or done entirely in Photoshop. Unlimited supplies there, and you never run out of a color. Plus you can effectively cover up your mistakes. :tsmile:
Some pretty impressive art I've seen on here, that's mainly what drew me to this forum.

Speaking of inspiration..
Aig, you were the first TMNT fanartist I found online. Wow, like, six years ago before I ever tried to do anything with drawing. I printed out every turtle picture you did. Cut them out and pasted them in my 'official' Ninja Turtle notebook that I carried everywhere with me for a year or more ;D
You, Horseturtle, Anna Larrson and Kim Garvin, had been some of my biggest influences as far as my earliest years of trying to draw good go ;D (I know there are other people I'm probably forgetting. Oh yeah. Dragon/Amy Cryway) Later on I got attatched to Greenwillow, then Javvi.. and now there's almost too many awesome artists to keep track of ^^ *quickly pencils in BigThew*
And Thanks Friction, I like your character. She has such a pretty face. I wish I could make my humans actually look pretty ^^
And Tria markers are really just 'easier' to use. I blow the money on them because I like the convenience. And because I do do alot of commission work and it actually takes me less time to marker then to CG. But I do the same thing as Aig when it comes to paper. If it's something I'm drawing for me, or is only going up online... I'm not going to waste any expensive paper ^^

*cough* Wow.. really? I often considered myself a lesser when compared to the awesome greatness of Aig, Kim, and Anna. They were the one's that influenced me! Peas in a pod, I guess. But yeah.. I must get my fingers in gear and draw more again. I felt like my art talent has taken a Lawson plunge as far as 'awesomeness' goes. :P
Oh... and cute chara sketch you have as well, Friction X!

Most kewl to see this! Thanks Cal! (You don't mind if I call you Cal, do you?Your name is harder to spell than mine!) LOL
I forwarded your note to KG, I think she'll appreciate it. I'm trying to get her back to doing art again, she's done some horse portraits for friends, but not much fan art lately. I think the last major piece she's done is the one with Leo facing those punklike creepies in an alleyway. Gotta find the URL for that...
Kim said she'd like to participate here, but the website takes too long for her machine to load. Plus somebody already has the Leo nick... :P
Yep, artists sure do influence each other, don't they? Like Peter and Kevin have directly and indirectly influenced me, and seeing the work of Frank Frazetta and Donato (who did cover art for the latest printing of the Hobbit novel) and also Michael Kaluta whose given me enough verbal kicks in the pants to get me to go to the San D con and get my stuff in the book. He got me into John Howe's work: came over to me at the Bud Plant booth, pointed out the book John did with Anne McCafferey entitled A Diversity of Dragons and said, "A must have. Buy it, now!" :anime:
Then when I saw John's Tolkien calendar art and what he did for the movie, I was a new JH convert. Hee hee!
And not least of all, the stuff I see what's doing here, inspires me to just go and do some more TMNT art. So, I'm working on some, when time permits.
