Im looking after my nephew for a little while and he really likes to fall asleep listening to a bedtime story. Anyone have any good little stories to pass on? He usually passes out withing 10 -15 minutes, so no need for anything too complex.

Bedtime story? Ok :)
One day two kids walked into the woods, they were have fun in those woods. They were damaging the trees and the plants. They even killed a few animals!
Buy when one of them began to feel sick, they thought they should go home.
But they were lost in the woods! Then, one kid saw something lurking in tthe shadows.
Something or--Someone? He was very tall, about 8ft, he stayed in the shadows, looking at them. They couldn't see him, as he was all black. The kids ran, but the man followed, and soon they saw that he wore a black suit with a tie, and he had no face!!!! They were never seen after that.
I hope this entertains your nephew!

Um, I don't think that story's appropriate for a kid, Snakeweed. I think he'd be traumatized by that. Maybe you should make up a Turtles story for him, or make up a story based on something else he likes.

We give our little guy a different story each night for his bedtime. A lot of the books we got are second hand, but we do make a point of picking up new ones every now and then so they don't get stale, for both us and him. Julia Donaldson ones are a favourite of mine to read, they're always fun.

My nephew likes Ferdinand the Bull.
They also have a super cute one called Room on the Broom.
My favorites as a kid were Amelia Bedilia and Frances the Badger

Oh, I loved Amelia Bedilia as a kid. Mercer Mayer's stuff is great too, and don't forget The Bernstein Bears.

 I was just joking! I really hope no one told that to their kids.....:teek:

Hmm, well you could always tell an OT story line. :P
I remember telling my younger cousins stories back in the day, but usually it was some crazy humorous experience of mine and all of my cousins nicknamed me the "storyteller". ...And they ended up not sleeping, but more excited than ever to stay awake. (One example was when I told about how a kid in my elementary school wanted revenge against a teacher of his and was determined to clog up the toilets in the boys restroom, and what a mess it made.)
So after learning from that mistake , I guess you have to assess your nephew's age and how tired he actually is. Of course, I used to tell some boring stories just to make it easier for my cousins to sleep. Try using Disney plot lines or as BubblyShell said, the Bernstein Bears, or hey... you just create your own.
Just don't make the story too interesting, otherwise you'll have the opposite effect as in my case.

Little Critters & Richard Scary's books were great for me as a kid.
