A 5th Turtle!?

So.....I was thinking....'what if...there was a 5th Turtle? What would his name be? What would his color be? What weapon would he specialize in? Heres my conclusion:

Name: Masaccio

Color: Yellow

Weapon specialty: Shuriken





Massacio because IMO he was one of the most influencial of all Italian Rennaisance artists quite like our four beloved Turtles.

Yellow because colors of color spectrum.....we have used: Red- Raphael, Orange- Michelangelo, YELLOW- Up for grabs, Green- color of all the turtles, Blue- Leonardo, Purple- Donatello. And yes I know there are Violet and Indigo....I put both those as Purple. ;)

Shuriken because someone on the team needs to specialize in throwing. I know it means 'sword hidden in hand' but its sneaky. I like it.

Shuriken are actually poor weapons anyway-they have to strike the target exactly right to have an effect, not an easy thing in an intense battle.

If there was a Fifth turtle I would expect him to be a lot like Protoman from the Megaman Series.

He would be aloof, more of an Anti-Hero. Occasionally working with the Foot or Purple dragons as he saw fit. He believes in Balance, and occasionally that means working on the wrong side of things... can the Turtles ever get through to him?

Name: Gendun (or Gen, named for the first Dalai Lama)
Color: White/Black
(his main mask is white and he wears a black one tied over one eye)
Weapon: A Ceremonial Diabo whose bladed ends form a Yin and Yang. But he rarely uses it as his hand to hand combat skills are unmatched.

Background: After escaping a Foot test facility in Tibet, the young mutant wanders aimlessly until discovered by a group of Monks. The monks took him in and named him, teaching him their belief in the balance in all things. For years Gendun remains here learning and training with the Monks. Honing his unique abilities.

One day the Foot discovered his whereabouts and attempted to breach the temple in search of Gendun. They were fought off by Gen and the Monks but at great cost. Many were killed and Gen lost his eye. Upset and angry at what had took place Gen was ordered to meditate on the matter at hand. During his meditation he discovered a war going on between the Foot Clan and ... Creatures like him! He knew his purpose now. He would travel to New York and help restore balance in a place in desperate need of it.

Or something like that lol. Wouldn't have to be a turtle i guess though.

I created a fifth Turtle for a challenge once, and this was when the 2K3 series was still out.

Name: Lucia.

Weapon: Kusarigama.

Mask color: Cherry blossom pink.

And, yes, she was a girl. I have a few stories with her featured in them, though I never got around to finishing them. Might have to do that some day when I get inspiration again.

To an extent I suppose. However Slash's lack of intellect would make it hard for him to even know the difference between right and wrong let alone grasping the concept of Balance in the Universe.

I have yet to see a version of Slash that has portrayed him as an Anti-Hero, but I could easily see him being taken that direction sure.

I still think that a fifth, female turtle- not connected to the brothers at all, with her own non-ninja fighting style and weapon, could work. She'd just another turtle from another place that got mutated- just like slash and just like tokka, only an ally mutant instead of an enemy. I really don't see a problem with that concept.

No, no not like Venus. Venus's origin was tied to the turtles, Venus was presented as what was supposed to be a form of ninja, even if it was mystical and off the mark (Shinobi being just a more accurate term for ninja), and Venus was intrduced kicking all four of the turtles's shells at once. this proposed character would be none of these things.

And I think the opposite. Thugs, mobsters, and gang memebers get old after awhile, and robot and aliens can only go so far. And one thing that really irritates me is naking TMNT anthro characters aliens, supernatural creatures, or members of long lost races just to get around the 'mutant' label. Other mutated animals do not make the turtles less 'special', and there's nothing to be gained by making them unique.
