If I'm reading Casey's model sheet correctly, it lists April at 5'7 and Casey at 5'8. Yet in the side-by-side, Casey is a full head taller than April! Also, 5'7 seems a bit tall for April since she was about the height of the turtles in Season 1 and I never really thought any of the turtles would be more than a few inches taller than 5 feet. Maybe she grew a little between seasons?

hey guys, I always loved casey , especially in the Comics..his movie appearance is unbeatable in my oppinion by elias koteas..so great!
and 4kids although lil slow sometimes was a whole hell of a lot of fun as well...
I am looking Forward to this Version of him.as usual, ciro knocks it out of this world with his sketches!(I was suggesting him on fb the other day my idea of a 'art of nick tmnt'book in time with all of his and their temas design work AND mucho texts in it..hope that Comes to fruition one day!)

Donnie is still not the same as a regular turtle. He has the same status as an alien. Different biology but still as sentient as a human.

I'm not saying it's the same, at all, because this is fiction versus reality. But if this was also reality? Yeah, I'd call it wrong to say someone can't be with who they love just because they're different species. And for the record, I'm not a "furry". At all. My support of Donnie/April has nothing to do with the fact that Donnie is a turtle, I just find the relationship (as it's been portrayed thus far anyway) ridiculously cute, and yeah, I'd like to see the poor guy actually win - because this Donatello is a really sweet character (I blame Rob Paulsen for his awesome portrayal). If we'd gotten this personality in a Casey instead of a Donatello, guess what - I'd be rooting for Casey. It's the personalities I find adorable here.

I'm making a comparison, or rather a hypothesis - that being that, if there were such things as mutants with human intellect and personalities and a boy or girl of that species fell in love with a human, and the human loved them back, then it would be wrong to say both were 'sick' for feeling what they feel. It would be just as wrong as people saying a black man and a white woman couldn't be together, or that two men can't be together - it's the same kind of wrong rationale to me. Again however, I'm not suggesting that anyone I'm arguing with is also against either of those things, or that they mean it in the same way at all - but that's certainly how it would come off in reality.

And since when were dogs or horses 'sentient'? Maybe the definition of the word has changed, but last I checked, the only 'sentient' beings we know of are us, the humans, with dolphins and certain types of monkeys only coming close.

I guess I'll have to put this as plainly as I can - suppose mutant turtles, or whatever, were real. They had different bodies and such from us, but were mentally human, much like our characters here are. They experience the same emotions we do on the same levels that we do, they pretty much are human save for physical differences. In that scenario, I see absolutely nothing wrong with the idea of them being in a relationship with other beings on that same mentality level.

This, despite how some of you seem to be taking it, is NOT the same as me saying people should be able to go out and do whatever they want with their dogs or horses or turtles, that are NOT sentient. At all.

Except that those animals are sentient. To be sentient, in its simplest term, means to have a capacity for awareness, the ability to perceive feelings. It has nothing to do with intelligence. These animals (and many others) recognize and understand suffering, fear and happiness. They have proven time and time again the ability to contain and convey emotions toward other humans and animals that have absolutely nothing to do with conditioning for food or protection.

I never said it's not okay to not prefer them together though. My only issue is with 'but he's a turtle, ewwwwww!' isn't really a good reason to be against it either. Maybe I'm going too high-minded with my comparisons, but seriously - that by itself just isn't that great a reason.

And disliking them for that reason doesn't mean you're against those things, but it can certainly come off that way if you're not clear in what you're saying, which you are Bossa Nova - it's others I can't say that for. But I do agree, automatically assuming that is the same as automatically assuming that someone must be some sick bestiality deviant just because they happen to like the pairing. Like the old saying goes, "Don't assume; it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'."

I honestly think that April knows about Donnie feelings about her but chooses not to acknowledge them cause she has bigger things on her mind like...oh I don't know..maybe her father being kidnapped by aliens. I sure she generally cares about him as a person but theres has to be some kind connection to go over the fact that he's not a human and ,from I had see in the show, the connection isn't really that deep. It's just plain old puppy love.


Speaking of having a connection and going back to the topic, if they're going to pair April and Casey then the writers should try to change some things about their characters to make the pairing feel more natural.

I'm liking Casey! This incarnation feels like a mix of the version where used to from the recent shows/movies, but throwing a bit of the 80's cartoon feel in there, more out of control and reckless. Design wise... again, I really like what their going for. Loved the detail in the costume... but I'm stunned they got away with some of the weapons he has given the shows rating (nails in his hockey gloves, roller blades with sharpened ice skate blades built in, hell, a potato masher hooked up to 9-volts!)
... Even if these features are only used on mutants like Snakeweed, it still seems brutal... and I like it!

I was under the impression Donnie would make the limbs mechanical, but this design... not only does it take advantage of Tim's new goo form, it makes for a great toy and opens up some pretty interesting possibilities.

Judging by the teaser, it looks like fan speculation was right about Donnie building a speaker for Tim to communicate. And, for whatever reason, I really liked MM's last second reaction to the pipe flying at his face- It looks like the character will have quite a range of facial expressions.

I'm actually really looking forward to what they have in store for us with the two.

It sort of does, because in a world where animals could become as sentient as humans (or in a world where aliens lived openly among us), it would be the SAME issue. Peter Laird was heading in that direction in Volume 4.

I love this show, so I want to at least like it's take on Casey, but... I'm so-far finding that really hard. He comes off as a young kid trying too hard to be street tough, rather than actually being the street toughened Casey Jones he should be. I'll give him a chance, but I just can't imagine I'll like this character at all. Then again, I've never been a big fan of Casey Jones before anyways, so...yeah.

That said I'll still probably get his inevitable toy. Would be nice to have another human in the group, and I can always pretend he's more like Casey Jones I was expecting.

Also, wasn't Casey supposed to be eighteen in this show? He looks and sounds younger than April...

I could care less who April ends up with. She may see Don as just her brother figure and not like him in that way. Sure, he'll be heartbroken, but as long as she stays friends with him, it should be all good. As for Casey, I like where he's going so far.
