View Full Version : Fate of Dogpound/Fishface in Season 2?

Do you think Dogpound and Fishface will continue to work for Shredder in Season 2? Nothing of the Season 2 promos so far have mentioned them, and we know Shredder gets a new evil mutant from Japan named Tiger Claw halfway into next season.

Shredder has already stated many times that Dogpound/Fishface "better not fail him again," so will he make good on that? The Season 1 finale will likely have Dogpound/Fishface go up against the Turtles while Splinter fights Shredder, and after they've defeated there will that be the end for them?

I assume we will see them in Season 2, but no longer working for Shredder. This isn't like Bebop and Rocksteady who can fail hundreds of times and Shredder would always forgive them. I think we might see some change here.

I hope not. Dogpound and Fishface are one of the best mutants on this show, I'd hate it if they were gotten rid of. And after hearing Xever's past I hope we get an episode were Bradford does the same.

I honestly don't see any place for them in Season 2, there's going to be plenty of new characters to carry the show.

I'm getting the sense that they're going to go rouge in the finale to help the Turtles and possibly be killed off. Sounds crazy to think that right now, but the finale promo definitely shows that they are going to push all the limits in this finale.

And remember what Bradford said in The Gauntlet:
"We'd rather die with honor, then to live in shame."

So far every specific line has had meaning behind it and ultimately played a role down the line.

Japanese tiger mutant, Tiger Claw? What'cha talkin' about,Cubed? I had not seen a thread topic of that just the mutant fly bit.

If indeed the two mutants will no longer be active what about being deumutated? Bradford would serve a better purpose stregthnening the foot and being a public figure is likely declared missibg by now.

I was thinking somehow, Bradford and Xever would quit working for the Shredder in the S1 finale and go off on their own ways. Heck, if by some very rare chance they get unmutated, they will definitely go about their own ways before they met the Shredder. Bradford going back to running his dojo's and Xever going back to Brazil, etc.

I know it seems out there, but it's something worth thinking about for a minute. Besides, I don't think Nickelodeon is willing to let a character in one of their shows just flat out get killed. The show can't be that violent.

The tiger mutants name is Tiger Claw, they even showed his design already. It says he's from Japan...so I assume he's a Foot Clan member from Japan.

I do not think that them not being talked about is an indication that they will not return at all... They just want to talk about new things..

I personally do not care if they return or not...

Yeah, they might still be there. And who's to say Shredder won't have Tiger Claw, Dogpound and Fishface? Maybe a rivalry? Maybe Shredder hiring him to show them 'how it's done' which will inspire rivalry? After all, Hun and Baxter had to deal with Karai and Chaplin for a while.

I wonder if Nick will decide to give Shredder new mutant henchmen every season, rather than sticking with the same two for the entire show like the OT did with Bebop and Rocksteady.

They don't have to die, they can simply break free of Shredder and go back to the Purple Dragons.

That might hold true for Xever, but Bradford has always been with the Foot. He was basically in charge of New York's Foot before Shredder came in.

Interesting.. this makes Bradford the Shredder and Shredder the Karai of the series. LOL

They will be Shredder's henchmen for the whole run of the show, or at least most of it (I think so anyway). They're in the intro, after all.

The intro can change very easily for Season 2.

Although it can, it most likely won't. Almost all (animated) shows keep the same intro until they're at the last few seasons (like the OT) or have just been on for a long time (The Simpsons).

Cyber, sounds like you're speculating and predicting without much cause again.

Why don't you let things play out instead of jumping to forgone conclusions?

To the best of my knowledge, Snakeweed wasn't mentioned at the panel or Kirby O'Neil, does that mean they both won't appear? Or perhaps Ciro and team wanted to hype new stuff to excite the crowd.

We know nothing of TigerClaw, to say he's an "evil" mutant at this point is a stretch. He's a mutant tiger from Japan. That's it. He might be a neutral bounty hunter or assassin, who knows.

I have no idea what happens to Dogpound and Fishface if any. But I can't see them going anywhere. They are in the credits after all.

Uh, really? The OT's intro changed in the middle of Season 4.

The 4kids series intro changed during Season 4, then again with FF and BTTS.

Most likely the intro to the Nick show will change overtime as well. They'll probably want to advertise new characters like Slash, Casey and Mutagen Man in the intro over Season 1 images.

Wrong, Tiger Claw is confirmed a villain and working for Shredder.

The only reason tmnt changed theme songs was because it was on another channel (CBS). The episodes still shown weekly would still have the classic old theme song until whenever it was finally cancelled.

I hate to side with cyber, but he is right. Not to say that they couldnt, but if casey becomes as big of a character in this series as he has previously been, then i find it hard to believe they wouldnt add a snippet of him to the intro.

Now slash and mutagen man, they dont need to add, whether villain or ally. Slash is only confirmed in 2 episodes, so he could vary well have as much screen time as say leatherhead, who's not in the intro. The intro only really needs to show the turtles, splinter, april, shredder, kraang, and foot, and i would hope casey too. You dont see karai in the intro and shes been in 4 episodes this season, probably more after the finale

And on Tiger Claw's design, it says, "Shredder's deadly Assassin from Japan."

So there's all the proof you need he's evil and Shredder's new mutant in Season 2.

assuming, since its shredders assasin brought from japan, it would make sense.
Cant see it being a "background" mutant, like snakeweed, where it has its premiere episode, then shows up randomly in others, i see it as being like dogpound/fishface, or atleast having a couple episodes devoted to it

I love Rocksteady and Beebop, there some of my favorite characters. Personally I prefer them over Dogpound and Fishface. Just because they were portrayed as nonthreatening in the 80's toon doesn't mean that they will be the same in the Nick version. If your using that line of reasoning than the same can be said of Shredder. I'm pretty sure that if they were introduced they would be re tooled to show more depth and not a carbon copy of the 80's toon, as all those who have been re introduced are.

This idea that we need Bebop and Rocksteady in this show drives me crazy. Really, we need to have a carbon copy of a previous generation to make this show work? I don't think so, and the majority of those watching the show making it a hit don't seem to think so either. I'm not opposed to them showing up ever, but all this "they should have used them instead of making new characters" is ridicules.

What makes Dogpound and Fishface unique is their relationships to certain members of the Turtles team. You couldn't have done that with Bebop and Rocksteady and kept them the same characters. That's what baffles me honestly.

People shout for these two saying they want them back, but they don't need to be like they were before. Yet to me what made Bebop and Rocksteady work were they were two lovable losers who tried their best and kept failing. They didn't realize how incompetent they were. You change that you change the character, they cease to be the characters you love and become something different. That's why I've been fine with them not showing up again in another medium. I don't want to just see them to see them.

But Bebop and Rocksteady are going to be in the IDW comics, so they're no longer "original toon exclusive" like they once were.

I can picture Dogpound and Fishface branching out alone. Even though they dislike each other. They could be the Hun of this canon rather than the Bebop & Rocksteady of it.

Tigerclaw looks more like he'll fit in.

And it is yet to be seen if they will truly be the same characters. I'm sure IDW will change them to fit what they need to be in IDW, but calling something by the same name does not mean it will bring the same enjoyment that the previous version did.

I know I've been vocal about this before, about if you like a previous version the new doesn't change it, and I realize that it is true for my self. However I like the idea that not every version has to be the exact same, follow the same beats, and show the same characters.

They have a fan base, that's great. But fans need to allow new characters to grow and expand. If they always went Bebop and Rocksteady we wouldn't have Tokka and Razhar, Hun, Dogpound and Fishface, Tatsu, or Karia. It's nice to see the different takes on Shredder have different henchmen, it alows for the character of Shredder to expand also.

I'm not calling for a carbon copy of the old toon at all. I am a strong supporter of change and re interpretation. I just prefer Rocksteady and Beebop to Dogpound and Fishface. So far I've loved most of the changes and new mutants. Also I think that a unique relationship could have been developed between certain turtles and R &B and still have kept the integrity of the characters. Characters are tweaked all the time with small or large changes and they still remain the same character at the core, a good example of this is Mikey from how he was depicted in the Mirage books to how he is now. I wouldn't want a complete re haul of those two, I would be firmly against that. In the end tho I guess it just a matter of opinion.

I pretty much think this Nick series is amazing, and although I love dogpound and fishface, I'd love nothing more then for them to be eliminated (either by death or going rogue) I like the idea of consequences and things changing, otherwise things can get stale.
