View Full Version : Would You Like to See Direct to DVD/Animated Films...

I apologize if this has been talked or mentioned about. But I was just curious.

I'm not saying it would ever happen. This is just a 'Pie in the Sky' idea.

But would you ever like to see Direct to DVD/Animated Films on the Turtles? Turtles Forever is probably the closest (in a way, which I know is cheating such for a number of reason).

Recently, I've been getting into these Marvel and DC Animated Films. Which, surprisingly enough, have some good stories, a PG-13 rating, and some pretty serious Adult content in them. You can tell that these are meant for more older/mature audiences.

Films like:

Hulk VS.
Planet Hulk
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox
The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 & 2

and so on.

So would any folks like to see them take a stab at doing that? If so what kind of stories would you like to see them do and/or adapt? Would you like Nick to perhaps let another group/studio do at least a few 'Direct to DVD' Animated Films in order to 'test the market' for this stuff?

I personally think they would do well. And it would satisfy folks looking for a more mature TMNT story/film who may not be 100% for the new live action films or such.

I've said before I'd love an ultra stylized black & white (and red for masks and blood) adaptation of TMNT #1.

And if from there they wanna do others, that'd be cool.

There are a couple of lackluster stories DC adapted in sales and interesting plot. Of all the stories out there I would love to see Hush and Sinestro Corps War. Both are favorite stories of mine and were popular out of the gate. I would like to see both adapted to animated feature soon.

Yes. I would most definitely love to see direct to DVD animated films. I was thinking more along the lines of an "Afro Samurai" kind of look or something to that effect. But yeah, I doubt we'd ever get something like that.

I would like to see one of my favorite issue of the Mirage comics Issue 14 made into and animated story or anthing doing with the time spent in North Hampton

Yes. I don't think any fan would be opposed.

Its the only way I could see faithful Mirage adaptions with all red masks and the same level of violence happening.

Don't know if Viacom would allow it though. Even IDW's comics are essentially "neutered" in the sense that they only allow a certain amount of violence and have to approve the storylines.

I would love to see an animated adaption of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Souls Winter not to mention a hour special of issue 17 of volume one of that one shot samurai story, which of course should be animated by Genndy Tartakovsky.;)

If anything, I would want it be done as anthology piece with a collection of short animated stories taken straight out from the mirage universe and done in different animation styles.

A series of Mirage based animated films, please. & while we're at it let's get two anime-esque features, one in the vein of Afro-Samurai, and another kooky one akin to the original TMNT anime.

And after Mirage: Archie. What I'd give for a Future Shark movie.

yes. any fan would.

an adaptation of TMNT mirage issue #1 with the voice actors from turtles forever (the voice actors of the mirage turtles and mirage shredder)

that would be awesome

A straight up animated movie of Issue #1 would be awesome. If the Dark Knight Returns can get animated treatment, so could the first Mirage comic.
