So...who's your favorite writer?

I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but David Wise. Mostly for his amazing season 1.

If Reaves wrote more episodes he would probably be my favorite, but I think he only wrote around 10 at the most?

David Wise wrote somewhere around 70, didn't he?

David Wise by far, and not just because of quantity. Watching the recent Shellshocked! podcast showed that he saw what the comics were about and especially for the first five episodes, the last two "Big" triology episodes, the season 4 premiere, and for most of Seasons 7-8, showed that he could provide not only a nice flow to the series, but have some continuity among the episodes he wrote. There was a great variety of fighting, comedy, and seemed to develop the characters more than any other writer. Michael Reaves is a solid second, though I liked some of Jeffrey Scott's work for the final season.

That said, I created a poll that showed who came after David Wise since there's a pretty clear consensus.

Man, I dunno. I honestly don't think I have one. I can hardly tell the difference between them, everyone writes the turtles character just fine. It's the bad episodes that feature characters like Mr. Ogg that make me question a writer. All in all I'd say everyone is on part with each other, except maybe for David Wise whose first season is obviously quite different in tone.

I like the first season. It was well written.

Same with the second one. Season 3 varies a lot between quality...

Which year was David Wise born? Wikipedia says nothing.

Wise. He wrote most of the OT episodes and some of the best ones as well.

Reaves wrote a few good ones as well, like Turtles On Trial and Shredderville, per example.

There were also some great writers that only wrote like 2-3 episodes over the course of the shows run. For example Dixon wrote the first Rat King episode.

Whoever wrote, "The Sword of Yurikawa" was also a great writer too.

Reaves, by far.
