Showdown, no contest.

In my honest opinion, I think Mousers Attack! is a much more polished episode than Showdown. Both are good, but Showdown was somewhat rushed and unsatisfying for a finale. But if i HAD to choose, I'd say Showdown. Still though, for a season finale, it was kinda weak.

I dont get how Leo could strain that gigantic android Kraang on a chain leash. Maybe there's a pole to withstand the weight but no, he pulled it down with his two bare tiny hands..

But eh, the rest was good. Splinter vs Saki<3, and Jedi Splinter ftw.

LOL poor Mousers Attack losing 18-0. It's still a good episode. But yea, Showdown takes the cake for me.

Yeah, that bothered me too. Did Leo gain super strength and durability when he mutated?

Seriously this "tournament" is getting ridiculous. It's obvious that "Showdown" wins this round. It was just so awesome.

But so FLAWED as well. Both wee good episodes, but Mousers Attack story-wise was paced better. At least in my opinion.

This is not a fair match up...
I loved "Mousers Attack" but i voted for "Showdown" obviously
"Showdown" should be paired with "Rise of The Turtles" since they are both hour-long episodes

I do agree that "Showdown" was rushed, but it was epic. I really thought it was a great episode to end the first season. I do like "Mousers Attack," but sometimes, the competition the turtles had was a little wee bit ridiculous. "Showdown" wins for me, especially since Leonardo really developed in that one.:tcool:

I don't intend to sound rude, but is there any logic going on with this "Tournament" whatsoever? Every single one I have seen, some of which I have participated in, have been incredibly biased bar one. I also think it's a shame that the member, who puts time into creating these polls, just creates them and never appears to be posting in the thread. Certainly not adding to the potential discussion we could, and should, have if the polls were fair. Does that not defeat the purpose of the entire thing somewhat? Perhaps I am just misunderstanding? Should you carry this on for season two, then I think the entire concept needs a complete overhaul.

That said, I appreciate what you are trying to do and it could make for some interesting discussion and debate. However, as it stands, it doesn't appear to be achieving anything at all. I think that's a great shame, particularly as we, on the whole, appear to be an excellent community that can raise some interesting discussion and debates, if given the right topic of course. :)

Okay first off, the rankings were determined based off this thread:
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=44123

Which was decided by people on this forum, this "tournament" wasn't just me throwing some random numbers on random episodes. This forum of posters decided where they'd be, not me.

Also, in any tournament, in any sport. I.E. in the NCAA March Madness, do all the 1 seeds play each other right off the cuff? No. The point of a tournament is to have the best take on the best in the final.

I admit, a 2 vs. 15 match will be a wipeout, 2 seeds are supposed to wipeout 15 seeds, that's why one is a 2 and one is a 15; because it's the vastly better episode, and the voting should reflect that. As it is.

Like in any sport, there will be blowouts, you just have to trudge through them. But that doesn't make the system "biased" or "flawed", the fact that the top ranked episodes advance means that the system is actually works and is right, and the bracket in the link speaks for itself, episodes are ranked were they are because people in this forum put them there. If you don't wish to take part until there's 4 episodes left, you can, because that will be the 4 best episodes. There'll be more thought put into it, because that's the point. You're supposed to put more thought into picking a match the closer you get to the end.

I think you're missing the point of the fact that this isn't a sport!

Pitting an episode that the majority think is "vastly better" against one that people aren't so fond of just defeats the purpose of it all IMO. There's no interesting discussion or debate [In fact, a good portion of the posts seem to be slating your method of doing the tournament!], there's no thinking required when voting and it's clear that the method you're using isn't one that is suited to this tournament based on the feedback you have received from people.

It's all very well and good wanting us to put thought into the game, but when it appears you're not doing that yourself, it does beg the question of why should we? Mind you, we can't really do much in the way of thinking when Showdown is being pitted against Mousers Attack!

I am certain that there's a much better way of going about staging the next tournament. I can't think of one off the top of my head, but there'll definitely be one. :)

While I can see why people may think the system is flawed, I can't really think of a better way to hold a tournament. I mean, if we pitted 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4 etc right off, we'd lose half of the front runners in one go. In the end it'd likely be the #1 seed vs someone in the middle, which would make for a rather boring final vote.

So basically, while some of the discussion might be better when the episodes are closer to each other quality-wise, it would ultimately not work out tournament-wise. It's entirely possible that a tournament set up just isn't that feasible for something like this.

Eh, just my 2 cents.

As for me, I think it's been fun. I've voted for my fair share of episodes that ended up on the losing end. Can't argue with this one, though - I like Mouser's Attack well enough, but Showdown was just so much fun.

I think you may have it spot on there. :)

Creating a form and ask people to fill it in might be a good idea. Have the scores at 1-10. Leave it open for a month or so and then close it and then add up all the entries et voila, you have your leaderboard. :)

I don't know guys. I feel the opposite here. I think all of ya are putting too much thought into this. It's a simple poll: Vote or don't vote and move on. :)

Putting no thought into voting renders the whole tournament pointless surely? A poll, like the one in this very thread, requires zero thinking and, for me, it just makes it a bit boring really.

The whole concept is great, especially with such a fantastic community, but I don't think it's as well executed as it could potentially be. As it's been pointed out, I don't think a tournament is feasible with something like this.

This is exactly what I did, only with 1-12 with top 12 lists. Left it open for a week, added them up, got the results, and proceeded on. And this is reaction I got.

So yeah, the idea you gave which was exactly what I did, apparently don't work. :D

The idea I gave wouldn't require pitting two episodes against each other in a poll like you have done. Getting members to fill in a form and then working out the results would just provide a list with the ratings of each episode. There'd be no need for what you have done.

So it's not exactly what you did at all is it? ;)

guys theres already been one upset in round one, where a higher ranked episode lost to a lower one. yes there are some obvious ones that arent even a contest, but some are really close too. and the final rounds are what really matter. So if you enjoy it, vote and follow along. if you dont, why do you even click on this thread?
