View Full Version : The Turtles Multiverse
I made a list of all turtles universes.
1) Turtle Prime (first issue of Mirage)
2) 1987 cartoon 1-7, and Turtles Forever
3) Mirage main canon (Vol 1, Vol 2, Tales, micros, Vol 4, some other odds and ends)
4) Red Sky Seasons (branch-off)
5) Archie
6) Playmates Toys (possibly a "grab bag" that includes Fleetway, the newspaper strip, etc.)
7) 2k3 seasons 1-5, and Turtles Forever
8.) Nick
9) Golden Harvest movies
10) Usagi's world
11) CGI Film
12) Image (branch-off from Mirage, if linked back in fits into Mirage)
13) IDW
14) Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers
15) OVA
16) Next Mutation (with Power Rangers)
17) Pallidium RPG
18.) After the Bomb (Sonic's world?)
19) Dreamwave
20) Fleetway
21) Same as It Never Was
22.) Coming Out Of Their Shells and related specials
23) US Newspaper strip
24) Soul's Winter
25) 80's-90's games
26) Misc non-canon Mirage strips.
27) Panda Khan's world
28.) Those Nick online games where the turtles are the size of SpongeBob
29) Dark Horizons
30) Out of the Shadows
31) CBS Action Zone
32.) Archie Alternate (Year of the Turtle?)
33) Manga and Manhua
34) The unproduced fourth live action movie
35) GUANT (Grown-Up Alien Ninja Turtles)
36) Bay movie
37) Fight For The Fox Box and other promo spots for 4kids TV
38.) Moo Mesa world
39) Division Comics
40) The Battle Nexus
41) Lego Comics
42) Extended Mirage (has all Mirage material except the utterly irreconcilable stuff, which may have an in-universe justification. Yes, Image 24 and 25 are also here to loop thing back in.)
43.) The weird Russian comics.
44.) Amazing Adventures
45.) Kids books?
Any ones I missed?

FF/BTTS are not a different universe than 2k3. Same with Red Sky seasons. Same with Image and Mirage.
I don't think you know what a different continuity/universe means.

So many people disregard those seasons, plus TF contradicts Red Sky, that I did it anyway.

What? Most people don't disregard those seasons, and regardless of that, they're in no way a different universe or continuity. They're the same show with an animation revamp.

I dunna...though I agree with you about >> and BttS, I'd chalk Image up as a separate universe, if only because it was separated by Laird himself, and only folds into Vol. 4 continuity by using Andrew's issues, as great as they may be.|
Also what is Grown-Up Alien Ninja Turtles, isn't that a rip at Michael Bays film? Do aborted films get to count? Really, miru?

Why? They're the same show with a different animation style. They all have direct continuity and references to what came before it. Stop it, I don't know where people are getting the idea that an animation changes equals a new show, its ridiculous.

I misread you saying, "I'd agree with FF and BTTS" as meaning you agreed with miru.

I read it this way too.
& I for one strongly believe Image & Mirage are one in the same. They were always intended to be up until the point PL decided if he didn't have his hand in it, it didn't matter.

Man...I guess I ought to have worded it better.
THus is the joy of the "multiverse". There are those who include the guest artists stuff in Mirage, or excise it. There are those who would fit the OVA in with FW and those who see it as it's own beast.
A lot of this can basically come down to "fan-on."

Archie future is part of Archie.

I'd still count it as a parallel universe, since in the "main" story, it technically hasn't happened yet and may never. Since things exist in the present and not the future, any and all stories based around "The (hypothetical) Future" are automatically parallel universes.

2) 1987 cartoon 1-7
4) Red Sky Seasons
These are the same.
7) 2k3 seasons 1-5, and Turtles Forever
14) Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers
These are also the same.
9) Golden Harvest movies
11) CGI Film
16) Next Mutation (with Power Rangers)
Some might argue that the first three TMNT movies could be linked with either or even both the 2007 CGI film and/or the Next Mutation series.

In the playmates universe do people walk with limited articulation? I can't imagine Nick April walking around.

Playmates toys are just that....toys. They're not a universe.

Exactly, I was just joking.

The characters all had little stories on their info cards, often times conflicting with the show. I kind of consider the toys to have their own little universe.
Anyways, I actually made a very similar thread years ago and compiled a few more turtle-verses. http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=34388

I'd say the first three movies are part of the same universe as NM. (Though the dragons and some of the other villains of that show make it a stretch, at best- the only real connection there is the lair.) However, I would NOT include the CGI movie with them- Karai was never in any of the earlier films, nor was she even hinted at- and neither was April training with the turtles. If anything, the CGI movie is tied to the 2K3 universe- it shows April and Casey much like they were in that cartoon, rather than as their LA movie counterparts.
