Over at the toy section a person who works for Toys R US discovered a listing for a Rahzar toy coming out in 2014.
Could Shredder possibly be mutating Rahzar and Tokka for this series like in Movie 2? I'd also love to see Slash fight Tokka as we've never seen those two meet before.

I would love to see them make an appearance but I kinda wish Nickelodeon would hold off for a while. We will already have Baxter mutating and Slash, not to mention Casey Jones introduction... i just don't want them to be crammed in there you know?

I actually dont think they're going to give us tokka...first of all he wasnt mentioned in this upcomming toys section..and then at least to me spike who will mutate into slash(still wondering about how they're gonna name him differently, maybe its mike again) is pretty overkilling the mutated turtles in one show part for me..I mean arent four turtles enough to begin with?then add a normal turtle..who will then again mutate...and THEn you still wanna see tokka come to life in this show?...not my cup of tea I guess...
personally I think they're gonna pair up razar and slash this time...

I don't see them bringing in Rahzar without Tokka. They are probably just planning to release the Tokka toy later on. Or maybe the Rahzar listed is part of the Classics line, although that's doubtful.

Tokka and Rahzar seem weird since we have Slash and Dogpound. I'll take 'em though.
It would actually be cool if the Nicktoon adapted Secret of the Ooze, so we'd have a not-so-terrible version to watch.

Secret of the Ooze is great for a kids movie. Which is exactly what it was supposed to be.
As for Rahzar, a wolf is rather different than a dog and I can see him being skinnier and smaller than Dogpound.

i do agree that we have a significant number of important characters coming in season two; Casey, Fly Baxter, Slash, Tiger Claw, Mutagen man. Then add in all the other new mutants, and some old ones (rat king, etc.) and id say rhazar and tokka are very unlikely for this season.
But if the toys coming out in 2014, maybe season 3? Maybe next summer we'll all be on here, dying of impatience over the release of tokka and rhazar designs and just waiting to see them in the show.
Also, i could see this show pairing rhazar with slash, instead of tokka, since yet another turtle could be overkill. besides, spike in normal form looks way more logical to turn into tokka then the slash hes going to be.

Though Tokka is a snapping turtle however, But Im sure there is room for more turtles since the Fred Wolf series had plenty of them. I remember the episode when the turtles met this other turtle name Kerma who isn't a mutant, But a turtle from the planet Shellri-la which is a world populated by humanoid turtles living like humans. It was called Planet of the Turtleoids

Most of the old mutants might just get all thrown in the same episodes together, such as the minor ones like Spiderbitez, Cockroach, etc.
The only ones I see getting big episodes again are Leatherhead, Rat King and Newtralizer.
Gin Rummy
09-04-2013, 07:56 PM
It would be pretty cool to see those two again, but it does seem like the show is getting a tad bit crowded. I'd probably rather have the producers use the air time on already established villains, like Rat King, and Snakeweed.
CyberCubed
09-04-2013, 08:28 PM
I don't think the writers intended all those random mutants to be major characters, they're all essentially filler villains.
The only one we know that's coming back with a big role is The Newtralizer. Other than Rat King/Leatherhead/Baxter....the others may just get minor roles.

yeah but that was season one, they had to get a foundation for most of the characters for later seasons. with everything they released so far, if tokka or rahzar would be coming, i feel like it would be overshadowed. Or that they would have already mentioned something.
They seem to have a fair amount of new main mutants coming: mutagen man, slash, tigerclaw, fly baxter, newtralizer becoming more important, possibly wingnut, and then all those fillers like the squirrel, the owl etc. So if you add in the kraang and foot, shredder and karai, casey, im sure new developments with april, return of rat king and who knows how many of the other season 1 mutants, season two has all the same amount of characters to be used in episodes, which is why i really dont think theyll be coming in season 2, unless theyre involved in the OT turtle appearance. but with that, i could definitly see them coming in season 3

If Playmates is making a toy of a character for the Nick line, chances are that character is showing up. I severely doubt one of the Playmates employees would say, "Hey, let's make a new Rahzar figure!" and model him after the Nick designs for no reason at all.
Also as I said, the Rahzar listing is right next to other Nick figures like Slash, Tiger Claw, Mutagen Man, etc. who are all Season 2 figures.

Are you sure? No one has assumed a Nick Bebop and Rocksteady and they are on the list. I'm really wondering if this Rahzar, though himself odd with out Tokka, is a re-release in original Playmates Rahzar in the classics line. I mean...what are those Bebop and Rocksteady figures, if not re-releases? Too cheap to be the 7 inch "deluxe" classics.

The classic figures are already out though, the ones based on the old 80's re-releases.
And look at that photo, every other toy listed there are for the Nick line. Even with Turtle variants at the top. Why would just 3 re-releases be listed alongside upcoming Nick figures? It just doesn't fit.
My theory is Bebop/Rocksteady aren't appearing in Season 2 as Nick characters, but they're going to be in the crossover with the 80's Turtles. So they're getting toys.
As for Rahzar, remember Shredder knows what the mutagen does now and it was hinted he wanted more mutants. Him creating Rahzar/Tokka wouldn't be that surprising.

Why would they produce brand new Bebop and Rocksteady figures for a one-off crossover...especially when they haven't even been confirmed to be in said crossover?

The $5.95 is what Toys R Us pays to Playmates to get the figures. The $8.88 is what they sell to the public to make a bit of profit.
As you can see, Toys R Us only makes a little over $2 on each figure sold, not that much profit..

The only way I can see Tokka introduced now is if Shredder tries to mutate his own turtle to fight the turtles with. I can see them stealing a snapping turtle from the zoo.

i don't buy it. it was a forced way to get Rahzar into the show. This was the first thing Mikey named that makes absolutely no sense other than to name drop an old character and please dads forced to watch it with their kids.

However it is possible that Slash does come to side with Rahzar/Bradford should the Turtles boot him out. Only in this hypothetical situation Rahzford ends up mutating him again into the semi-sentient Tokka and sics him back onto the Turtles and Shredder. Tokka is only a means to an end here (and not as a mutant partner) and ultimately disposable.

Is the name "Rahzar" generally a wolf name or am I just not understanding what your talking about? "No difference" to what? All I'm saying is Mikey's corny names for mutants always make sense. Chrome Dome. Fish Face. Leatherhead. Whereas Rahzar is nothing but a reference for the fans to jizz over.

I do kinda agree. Pretending the old movies never existed, following the show's own logic, Mikey would have called him something like Fang Face, Wolf Bones, Super Dogpound, Wolf Claw, SkeleWolf, Ninja Wolf, etc etc etc 'cause he's a wolf and he has claws....' 'we get it Mikey!'

On top of that, he also named him in response to Bradford's line "Never call me 'dog'".
It wasn't the show's most clever moment, but that's why I love the fact that Mikey names all the monster's and stuff, it can be whacky and nonsensical.

I don't remember any older fans clamoring for Rahzar. When it was known Rahzar was coming via the leaked toy list the response was basically 'Cool Rahzar's coming' while being more excited for other names on the toy list.
I'm glad Ciro and crew are using characters from all incarnations of the franchise. I know Rahzar was in the OT and is in some video games but he'll always be a movie character to me.
The name was very forced but that's going to happen with nostalgic properties like TMNT. Originally I didn't like that he mutated from a dog to a wolf. I did some research on the Akita breed and found that they are one of the oldest dog breeds and share many characteristics of the wolf so it isn't as big of a stretch as I thought.

I did some research on the Akita breed and found that they are one of the oldest dog breeds and share many characteristics of the wolf so it isn't as big of a stretch as I thought.Plus nobody knew Rahzar was going to be looking like what he did in Nick, most people (including me) thought he was going to be the usual bulky, non-skeletonish looking thing with the mind of a baby, which would have pleased some people but also made him kind of a 'generic' wolf-derived mutant. I find movie Rahzar utterly boring, but even if Braddy's new nickname is a forced homage to that, at least they made this 'Rahzar' interesting. :D
Edit: However, I can see the writers getting 'Tokka' into the show by a unique way. Slash's new form resembles a monster Mikey sees in a manga comic book, one that is named 'Tokka.' Mikey renames him that in 'honor' of this monster.

Hello everyone.
I have a question. What if Bradford/Dogpound stayed in the mutagen tank LONGER than he should have?
In my opinion, I think he would have become a skeleton-like dog with exposed organs.(Think of a mixture between Mutagen Man and The Rat King.)

Lol, what? Rahzar and Tokka are unknown to kids watching Nick but they're tremendously popular with older fans like ourselves.
Don't forget they were also bosses in both TMNT III and Turtles in Time. And the second movies immense popularity cemented their status.
I could say lol what to every post you make. Ninjapug and Metalwolf were right. Noone really cared or even gave the character a thought before we saw that leaked toy list pic. That's like saying everybody was anxious for Chrome Dome to return before um.... NotChrome Dome was actually put into the episode.
In a certain way, you remind me of 2K3 Shredder. Feels he's all powerful, something stops him, he says 'WHAT???' and then rinse and repeat. You make a post thinking your opinion soars above everyone else and therefore it's so obvious it's right, someone disagrees, and you say 'lol what?'

Heh, I actually made a topic asking if Chrome Dome would appear like a few months ago. I didn't expect him to actually show up though.
Rahzar and Tokka became popular simply by being in the second movie which was tremendously popular. The fact that they're also in the most popular TMNT videogame as bosses (Turtles in Time), added to that.
And as said, they also got one OT episode, they were bosses in TMNT III, and have toys.
They're certainly recognizable to most TMNT fans more than say....Mutagen Man.

All those points are invalid on account that no one really asked about him or was expecting him. No one even thought about him before we saw that toylist pic.
I'm not saying he's a forgotten character that no one remembers, but I'm saying no one ever thought about or expected him to actually be in THIS show.
I swear, there were more people asking if Usagi or Bebop and Rocksteady would be in this show eventually but no one was really asking about Rahzar.
Plus, you must have been the only one asking for Chrome Dome, but you hardly count, cause you'd even ask for super-obscure characters like Big Louie and Pink McFingers to be in the show.

I would love to see Big Louie and Pinky Mcfingers to return.
I am also hoping for Tempestra. Let's see if Ciro Nielie really knows the original cartoon.

I am also hoping for Tempestra. Let's see if Ciro Nielie really knows the original cartoon.Tempestra? Unlikely. Ciro had said that April and Karai were enough females for now, due to him knowing he'd likely write any new females into Mary Sues if he did.
And Coola is right. There were far more people asking for Usagi, Bebop, and Rocksteady to be in this show then they ever did with Rahzar and Chromedome. Bradzar was a pleasant surprise in how he was presented, but NotChromedome seems 'meh' for now. Think of just about almost any other character then these few, and odds are, most people aren't asking about them. And Tokka is only being asked about because of Bradzar.

It would be nice to see Tokka appear. That is if Slash will join the Foot and after he leaves the Foot to join the Turtles "if ever", Shredder takes matters into his own hands and makes Tokka.
I hope he can be a ninja like Rahzar. Perhaps Tokka can be Hun.

I know there was speculation about slash joining the foot clan than being mutated once again like dogpound which would in turn make him tokka.

There's no reason to mutate a popular character like Slash into another turtle.

Agreed. But if so, it should be just to make him even more cool than he is.

He's big, he's mean, he beat the $h*t out of the turtles in his intro ep, looks awesome, and he's voiced by Corey Feldman! How much cooler can he GET??!!

Exactly. He doesn't have to be Tokka because he's already a threat. I would rather they get some other turtle and mutate him into Tokka if Tokka were to reappear.

At what point can Mikey pull "Tokka" out of his butt for a monster name though?
BubblyShell22

Maybe Mikey wouldn't have to name him though. After all, Mikey never named Slash, so it's not like Mikey has to name all of the mutants all of the time.

Good points, although he could look cooler. I'm sure there's people that disagree, but I think he looks pretty lame compared to the original Slash.

Bonus to mutating Dogound into Rahzar: They escape the doge memes.

But I'm wondering if they killed Bradford off too. It's always possible, especially in this show as it seems to be darker. It could be why Shredder's pissed. It's because I know they had Xever's voice actor recording lines for after this point, but Bradford's? I haven't heard of anything.

I'm guessing movie classics. Would love to see them and Super Shredder in the classics line.

I don't think we'll see Tokka in this series unless Shredder gets the urge to mutate his own mutant snapping turtle.
You have to admit seeing Slash and Tokka fight in this series would be cool..

Since when do bad guys not fight other bad guys? Nobody said all these villains are a team.
You really think Slash who is a madman and is by himself wouldn't fight other mutants if they tried to attack him for whatever reason?

That likely would be the dealbreaker.
Although if Shredder brainwashes him and mutates him into Tokka, that would be the only way I could see 'Tokka' happening.
