Kameko

I have finally gotten two of my stories on ff,net. I'm under the name Hamato Kameko. Do me a favor and drop me some reviews! And maybe a piece of pizza...

Oooh, oooh! New fics! *goes running off to FF.net, yelling* I'll be right back!

Pretty cool, Kameko. I read them and they're pretty good. Funny too.

Why thank you! I'm glad you like it!

Tis a couple of interesting short stroies. Okay, the grocery list one was a little confusing in places, but most comedy is anywayz! And the Refelctions story.. I was wondering if you will ad more to that? It's kind of like an appetizer, a sort of set-up for something more, and then... it ends.

Just my humble opinion, take it or leave it!

*growls* ARGGH! I swear I'm gonna kill FF.net at this rate!!

Can't you get on to it, either?

Woo Hoo!! now i can get to reading those fics I've been missing! :anime:

Tinselcat
06-13-2002, 09:46 AM
Kameko, i read your humor fic! i loooooved it! you have a real knack for humor! i have a suggestion, though. i agree with some people that it got kind of confusing. however, the uninterrupted dialog was a good idea, and it flows really well. i think that if you formatted it more like a script, putting the first letter of the character's name before their 'lines', it would be clearer who's talking, without disrupting the flow of the dialog. write more humor? pleeeeez? *makes puppy dog eyes*

enigma-1

Grrr.... I'm still going to kill FF.net. The stupid thing's acting up again.

Kali
06-16-2002, 03:03 PM
I know. At the moment (aside from random server problems) they're having trouble with their uploading system, so it's down. This includes anything that requires signing in, like leaving signed reviews.

enigma-1

*snorts* So much for the updates I was planning on.

Tinselcat
06-16-2002, 04:09 PM
yeah, i've got a story to update, too. i worked forever on it, and it's been ages since my last post for that story! we gotta wait until the 21st!

Skeletoncrew

Oooohhhh...you have an update Tinselcat?!?!

*Does happy dance*

Tinselcat
06-17-2002, 03:54 PM
well, part 4 of midnight snacks is up, but the update i'm talking about is for a story in a different fandom. by the way, you still havn't reviewed the last installation of midnight snacks! go do that, or i'll hit you with my rolled up newspaper! (hey, i've got the sunday color comics in here!)

Kali
06-17-2002, 03:59 PM
I've tried! But it won't let me! *sobs* Eh, I'll leave it here if you don't mind, then.

Latest chapter of Midnight Snacks review: *That* was good. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing at Angelo's antics when Don was trying to talk on the walkie-talkie. And then after... whew! You've got me intrigued by this new villain, he won't kill Don, will he?

Tinselcat
06-17-2002, 04:05 PM
i'm not gonna tell! *sticks out tongue* you just have to wait until the next chapter!!

Kali
06-17-2002, 04:08 PM
Fair enough. That was what I had written days ago when I first tried to review but couldn't. It's a great cliffhanger though, really gripping. *goes to work on her own stories*

Oh yeah... must get back to reading that fic of yours Tinselcat. This time I'll drink some Pepto so I can stomach what you're doing to poor widdle Donnie. ;p

All you need is the explanation. LOL! I have my "explanation" for four and a half sex scenes within five chapters!

Heh heh heh. I dunno, it was hard enough writing a threesome...I'm sure a foursome would be a pain in the rear to write!

Kali

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. *whispers* But HT is a bit annoyed at the percentage of people who pair Donnie with a guy. Honestly, just because the turtle's attracted to another guy doesn't make him gay, like most people think.

HorseTechie
06-18-2002, 10:29 AM
Nah.. I'm just a TMNT purest. If Eastman and Laird say they ain't gay, then they ain't gay.

If it where a story where the original chars were gay right from the get-go, I couldn't care less.

Kali
06-18-2002, 10:31 AM
Well, if you think about it, most people don't realize they're gay until later in life. Plus there's always bisexuality if that makes you feel better.

*ponders - with an Einstein accent*

Hrmm.. tis a very interesting observation... how da opposite sex is turned on by same sex... porn? Guys are very attracted to f/f, but turn tail at m/m. Whereas, many woman go for m/m in the same way that guys like f/f... but it's very hard for a m/f couple to both like watching f/f or m/m with the other getting disgusted. *ahem...hmm*

Kali

Tinselcat
06-19-2002, 10:52 AM
yeah, a lot of people aren't into reading m/m or f/f. to console HT, in my fic, i think donnie is bisexual. and the vampire doesn't have any 'venom', donnie's choices are all his own. if they weren't, than angelo would be a disgusting, bad, evil character and... he's just not!

HorseTechie
06-19-2002, 10:52 AM
Frankly, I stayed away from X rated stuff, coming from a conservative, religious family. Then I got married, and was more or less pushed into it... for sake of 'survival'.

Tinselcat
06-19-2002, 10:55 AM
yeah, i can see that. i'm totally unconservative, though there's some kind of stuff i tend to avoid, i'm usually fine with everything. hell, i even write it! (though, not having actually observed two guys getting it on, it's all guesswork... :goof: )

Kali
06-19-2002, 11:01 AM
Hmmm, my family's not really conservative. Sexuality is just another part of life, like eating or working.

Tinselcat
06-19-2002, 11:25 AM
ya, same here. my family's cool with it, which is nice, considering they came from families which would frown on different sexualities.

Loolaa
06-19-2002, 12:06 PM
I'm not that conservative, neither are my family... but... To be honest.. I'm totally bored with sex (To a degree  )
It's EVERYWHERE!! All over tv, in books, in commercials etc. You can't move for it! It's completely mainstream.

HorseTechie
06-19-2002, 12:17 PM
I've gotten that way too, plain ol sex does get boring. But I rather just reserve it as something one does to strengthen love relationships/make babies, not just one night stands and other sinful pleasures. But hey... what can I say, I'm a preacher's kid (who no longer wants her parents to look at her website!)

As far as 'gay action' goes, yep... seen that too. (aside from the yaoi, there's been many a R rated movie... the last one I saw was "The Deep End of the Ocean")

Kali

Though, honestly, when I did my slash fic, I never thought Leo or Mike were gay. In my mind, they both still like women, and neither think any other male is attractive. It's personality traits they're attracted to more.

Skeletoncrew
06-19-2002, 01:32 PM
Well necessity is the mother of invention, if there are no women around...

BTW, I understand that in many cultures m/m sexual behavior is only considered aberrent if a guy is always taking the receptive position. And once again, thats because of a lack of available females. Ya gotta work with what you have.

Kali
06-19-2002, 01:37 PM

Skeletoncrew

There's a fic idea: A beautiful female domestic rat is mutated. Splinter is smitten, but she keeps turning him down. He's mystified. Why doesn't she want him? She seems to enjoy spending time with him? Is it his breath? The gray fur that has started peppering his agouti coat? What?

Roomie had a guy rat, Schroeder, and so we had to stick the two together to see what happened. Yes... Humpy was definately bi!

Kali
06-19-2002, 05:47 PM
Yeah. But I think I decided against it, figuring that she just wasn't used to the guys yet, and they were kinda driving her crazy. But that won't stop me from putting fem-slash themes into my next fic with her.

HorseTechie
06-19-2002, 05:52 PM
heh... fem-slash. Is that what they call it? *wonders if beads of chi energy, sais, and bo staffs will be involved*

I have seen way too much of this stuff for my own good (more than of the gay 'footage')... :goof:

Kali
06-19-2002, 05:56 PM
I've heard it called fem-slash, for f/f, I guess to seperate it from slash, which most people use to describe m/m. I have no idea where these terms started.

Chi-energy will be involved, and there won't be much actual touching. It's not the main theme of the story. *is glad she decided to combine all her fic ideas into one instead of making three seperate fics*

Interesting the way topics turn... *ducks off-topic flying monkeys*

I don't mind the slash too much, but the idea of one of the turtles being gay is really weird. on the other hand, I think yer right about the necessity is the mother of invention... :goofygri:

HorseTechie
06-20-2002, 12:00 PM
But.. "necessity" of what? To just feel good sexually isn't a good excuse for me. Many zen monks (and I suppose Splinter too, as truly portrayed in the Mirage status quo) have mastered the art of life without sexual pleasure.

Now, if it's the reason of them becoming female (like in Jurassice Park and Hannurdock's fic) so that they are able to reproduce for survial of the spiecies, etc... then it makes more sense.

 good point. I started reading one of those fics -- I need to finish it.

Kali
06-20-2002, 12:20 PM
Actually, in my fic's case, it wasn't "necessity" but curiosity when they were younger. More experimentation than actual sexuality. But then, the reasons behind my slash pairing is horribly complicated.

Kameko
06-20-2002, 01:01 PM
hmmm... sounds interesting...

Kali
06-20-2002, 01:57 PM
*blinks* You really think so? I don't know. It makes sense in my mind, but it's just difficult to explain. People, and Turtles, are very complex, so I don't see how people can label them in "black and white" terms.

HorseTechie
06-20-2002, 02:14 PM
uhm... yeah... besides trying to ignore the fact it is a form of beastiality. :goofygri: (people doing it with turtles, that is)

Bleh. Life without sexual pleasure is an evil concept in my mind. But then, I'm a Pagan. Admittedly, sexual pleasure could probably not be considered a necessity. But it is very important in most people's lives. Especially men's.

Kali
06-20-2002, 03:37 PM
I agree, sexual pleasure not a necessity, my life is pretty much empty of it. I don't mind.

And although I have a slight reptile fetish, (along with weapons, but let's not go there) I'd never consider doing anything sexual with them. But the Turtles, I don't consider them animals.

HorseTechie
06-20-2002, 04:39 PM
Oh well.. there's always going to be people at both ends of the scale.

I feel like the dullest girl around when it comes to being sexual. Could live without it, could live with it. But then, I'm a married, stressed out, on the pill for way too long, almost 30 year old. I'm amazed what that equation did to dampen my sex-drive even more. *sai*

Tinselcat
06-21-2002, 08:15 AM
gee whiz... this conversation certainly has gotten... interesting... now for my input: in my fic, neither donnie, nor anyone, really, is specifically 'gay'. in fact, donnie considered himself straight until he found himself attracted to angelo. it wasn't the 'male-ness' that attracted him, it was the person. the person just happened to be male, is all. i think that's how i'll be doing my fics, if the issue ever comes up. (i've got another one on the way...)

Loolaa

That is a trick to do!

One method I have done, is that if these things happening at the same time are at two different places, I'll put seperation lines or a row of symbols inbetween sections.

But if they are all in the same place, but it's between different groups of characters, you just have to write in a volley. Like one or two paragrahs on this bunch, then another set of paragraphs on that bunch.

Just think of how a lot of movies handle it.. how they will flash back and forth between events in just the right timing you don't get too confused.

 The thought has crossed my mind, but I decided it would be better to not check out FF.net today.

Yeah... I like to write two thngs going on at the same time quite a bit in my long fics... HI NO DE action sequences... Higure... in fact, I totally broke off Mummer's Dance from Higure, to focus just on that, before I pull it back into Higure later in the series.

Geez... I can't even get past the index page of ff.net. Half of the images aren't showing up, either. And to think I finished up my current fic, too ^_^

I was actually able to get into the fics this morning at about 6:45am *grr*

Buuut, as of today, I have started writing my thrid installment for Mummer's Dance!

Plus Neil (aka the Shredder) liked the site I did for Entservers, so he gave me like 100MG of space, a domain name, an email, and then wants me to help him redesign Ninja Turtles Network. Weee!

I'll letcha know when I get my new site location set up in stuff too...

Oh and also, with having alla that free space, if you don't get around to using it, wasn't someone saying something about Fortunecities doing the same thing as tripod? Maybe you could host the Fan Fic archive there too if that happens (hoping it won't) if you have too much space to spare.

BTW, what domain name didja get? horseturtle.com? horsetechie.com? Bleh, I really need to update my links

Hrmm.. I thought of that, but the Archive isn't being as much of a space hog. Plus FC seems to be holding out so far. (is lazy... doesn't want to make more work for herself!) ;p

But the domain name I picked was http://www.turtlequest.com. Horsetechie is already taken, and horseturtle is, well.. too blah sounding. *shrug* So I go with turtlequest, short for Turtle Equestrian, or can be punned as Turtle Quest.

Oh... the Enterprise Servers URL is http://www.entservers.com I'm still working on the page, so what you see there is the first draft (he wanted me to add a lil more color). Hopefully but the first week of July we'll have the final draft installed.

Just went to the enterservers site, nice work! Blue works on so many levels

But erm I was also wondering, in the spirit of moving to a new and bigger place, any thoughts on maybe doing a new site design? You know maybe a few throw pillows, a TV news reporter perhaps? :goof: Nah, but I was asking seriously, no really!

Let me know of any developments, I can't wait to see what you do with it dudette  I also went to the turtlequest.com site, it doesn't seem to be up, maybe the order is taking longer than the 48 hrs. But where did you order the .com name? I'm currently shopping for one myself

There's so many TMNT things to look forward to this year!

HorseTechie

Hrmm, I thought about tweaking my site too... but I'm so stuck on what I have there! I was thinking of improving the title graphics (now that I have PS 6 that can save things for the web so they load up a 100 times faster). And then rearrange some of the layout on the photos and art pages so it uses more horizontal space. *shrug*

But what I really want to do is add more stuffs to my site... like all my accumulating odds and ends for the TMNT section.

Oh, and Neil said the domain registry would take a little while before it kicks in. Hopefully by the end of this week it'll be up. (aside from the fact he realized my website was on the wrong server!)

You'll prolly have to ask him where he went too, cause he even did that for me. What he says for his normal customers, is $35 for the set up of a domain name, provided that you already signed up for 200MGs of webspace (which with the domain name and webspace included is $20/mo).

I'm just glad I don't really write tmnt fan fiction really anymore, not from my own stories lately anyway. I think everyone's getting a little pissed at ff.net, there's bound to be someone who'll do another site and try and do better and get alla the readers and writers over to their site :ohwell:

Okay, I have a serious case of writer's block and I need help. When Magnolia starts teaching Zenith, does anyone think she should go easy on him or just do the worst?

Under the circumstances, I don't think she should go easy on him. She's kinda weary about teaching him in the first place, so I think she should push him hard, to see if he really does have what it takes and if he's really willing to go all the way. Humility tasks are always good, too.
