Well, its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles now. They did make changes to the script, but we're not sure how much they kept. They finished filming last month.

FAQ:

* Yes, they were aliens in an old script.
* No, they're not aliens in the shooting script.
* It was called simply "Ninja Turtles" early into the Bay production.
* Later on promotional material and chairs on set showed that the title may have been changed to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," but no official announcement has been made.
* Old version of script had Colonel Shrader as Shredder, from a military organization known as the Foot.
* New version of script has Erich Sachs as Shredder, who may or may not be a colonel but is reportedly a "businessman" in the movie. As the Foot seen in on set footage seem to resemble a military unit of some kind it would reason to say that Erich has some kind of military connection still.
* Old version of the script had a Dimension X invasion, Krang and a small part for Bebop and Rocksteady.
* New version of the script has, as far as we know, an "invasion," with nothing known about Krang, Bebop or Rocksteady. But as OT heavy as things are they're almost undoubtedly in it.
* There's a Turtlevan.
* Characters known to be in the movie: Bernadette Thomas (a play on Bern from OT), April O'Neil, Erich Sachs/The Shredder, Vernon Fenwick, Karai, and military Foot Soldiers with pikes, guns and masks. And a Kid April has also been cast so we know there will be flashbacks.
* Casey Jones was in an old script (he may or may not have survived later treatments, we don't know).
* At one point the Turtles get captured by the Foot and Raphael and April are on their own.

That about covers the major points, I think, yes?

The movie is basically the worst case scenario imaginable. It's like they decided to make a TMNT movie that goes against what everyone wants out of a TMNT movie.

There that's better.

Though I'm not happy with most of the news, I know no amount of whining on an internet forum is going to change anything....

It's true whining on the internet does not change anything. But fans do it because it makes them feel better about venting their disgust about things they cannot change to millions of people online.

I'll be complaining about this movie years after its released. I'll even educate future TMNT fans about it in the coming years.

So, if I don't feel like reading a forum, I can just create a thread and ask for people to sum it all up?

Good to know.

For all we know it's amazing. You are the King of forming opinions on sh*t you have no knowledge of. I have little respect for most people, but among those I respect the least are people who say they hate something without having seen it or experienced it for themselves.

The fact that you not only hate a movie you haven't seen, that in fact doesn't even exist yet, but furthermore promise to make it your life's mission to sh*t on the movie for decades to come, is disturbing beyond words. And you do it with lots of things. You have a problem and you need help.

People aren't allowed to have opinions until they have experience to base them on. I'm not sure if that was ever properly explained to you, so I'm explaining it now, in the hope you will realize it so you can go on and have a happy life without all this pent-up nerd rage. It's not attractive.

The "have to experiences to have an opinion" argument is valid...to a point.

So far all of the parts I'm being allowed to "experience" about this movie lead me to for an opinion that I will not enjoy the whole.

But that's all I'm gonna say on the matter, because I can state that opinion and then move the heck on with my life.

You can make an educated assumption about whether you'll like something or not, but that's not the same thing.

Example: I don't like football. I came to that conclusion after attending dozens of games with my Dad as a kid and seeing lots of it on TV. I've seen enough of it to know I don't like it. Boblsed racing, I have no opinion of. It doesn't look like something I'd enjoy, BUT if someone were to ask me my opinion of bobseldding, my honest answer would be, "I have no opinion, I know nothing about it." I would have to watch it for myself to decide how I felt; me just saying "I hate bobsledding, it sucks" is ignorant, because what am I basing that opinion on? Very limited experience, which is unfair to what I'm supposed to be judging.

See the distinction? It's subtle, but it's there. A jury can't convict without evidence, and likewise, a person can't make a solid opinion on hearsay. At the very least, a person who espouses an opinion on something they haven't seen for themselves shouldn't expect anyone to take their opinion seriously at all.

i still see people hating on the movie before even a trailer. I say wait and than judge the movie. I was skeptical about the new Robocop movie and after seeing the trailer it looks like it will be bad ass.

So basically aliens invade NYC and the Turtles have to stop them? Seems very Avengerish to me.

This is why I don't like fans in general, They always hate and complain about things looking different then how they remembered it. I don't really have any nostalgia for anything I grew up with in the 80s. Its stuff I used to like when I was a kid. When you look back at them now, They don't age very well any more. The Nickelodeon series is doing really well bringing in new fans for the Turtles and bringing in fresh new takes on the old stuff along with new stuff.

I am looking forward to the new film, Surely things might look different, But the fact to the matter is, The origins will remain the same, It will always go back to the Mutagen that started the whole thing.

I can only speak for myself, but to me it absolutely looks and sounds to be the sum of all fears.

I disagree with this, I can go back and rewatch 80s cartoons anyday of the week

And the Nick TMNT 'toon I find largely overrated, far more childish and incredibly dull compared to the first five years of 4Kids, but hey, it's making a lot of easily pleased fans and kids who don't know any better happy so what's to hate about it? This movie will make a lot of mint regardless of what us moany old nostalgic gits think

Marshmallow anyone?

Seriously though, if you're aware of it's faults and still enjoy it, good on you, but that was aimed directly at the people who think it's the best thing on Nick at the moment when Korra is leauges ahead of it in terms of animation and depth of storytelling.

Without having actually seen Korra (or anything else Airbender-related) I can't speak about it, but Nick's TMNT is FAR and away better than just about every other current cartoon out there now. I can't even sit through normal Saturday morning network fare anymore- it's all dull, badly animated, rehashed(Transformers and Yu-Gi-Oh, I'm looking at you here), or just plain sloppy and "kiddie"-ish. Meaning that most of it wouldn't appeal to anyone over the age of 7. And that's being generous.

I agree. You should approach a movie open minded, but that doesn't mean that after hearing all the news, watching all the trailers, and, overall, feeling so very uninterested in what you see, that you should blindly sacrifice $10 if only to appease some chubby, fat kid on the other side of the screen, who feels that a true Ninja Turtle fan should automatically like everything with the TMNT brand.

Right now, I'm in the middle. Some of the things about this film have me scratching my head. It could go either way for me, but if I don't like what I see in the trailer, I'll probably just wait until I can get it for $1 at Redbox. Maybe, I won't even see it. At all. Why waste my time on something that I think looks like crap? That's just mental. Sure, other people might like it. Name a movie and there are people out there who like it. Doesn't make me any more or less interested.

Maybe I don't have the right to say I don't like what I see, but who cares? The Smurfs 2 looks s**ttastic. I'm not gonna pay to find out if I'm right.
